Have you ever been in a house that had an "elevator" before?
Vote
It happened at a BEACH HOUSE in North Carolina renting for about 14,000 a week as it comes just days when federal regulators pushed elevator manufacturers to block th gap bthat allows children to fit between the doors Police were called at around 7pm after receiving reports of a child trapped in an elevator When they arrived, teh boy was trapped between the bottom of the elevator car and the home's upper door frame They tried to resuscitate the boy but were unsuccessful and was pronounced dead at the scene The family was visiting from Ohio and had just arrived to begin their vacation... Sheriff Melton said they aren't sure how it happened and stated "The child was entrapped in the doors. We were able to free him but his head and neck were crushed by the elevator. He died of traumatic injuries sustained in the elevator mishap" This is the first elevator death he has ever witnessed in his lifetime as they are rare but experts say this is exactly why these gaps need to be resolved for accidents like this and the elevator industry was aware of this for decades but never acted upon it when it is a simple fix of just $100 But when the feds pushed for safety improvements in 2019, they received backlash from officials stating and said the problem was complicated and not their responsibility At least 8 children were killed in elevator entrapments since 1981 though elevators inside houses is rare with only 100K-200,000 homes that have them Have you ever seen an elevator inside a house before? https://i.imgur.com/7UBnGd1.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7JdjpWw.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OO8mKSj.jpg https://i.imgur.com/LMstwTO.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qe13sNO.jpg --- The Users have Spoken. Have you ever seen an elevator inside a house before? concidentally my grandfather's boss (a really rich guy) died by walking into an elevator shaft in his own home, only the elevator wasn't on that floor. Basically having an elevator in a home is usually a bad idea because they both dont seem to have the same safety regulations and are usually not properly maintained --- DPOblivion beat us all. ... Cannot comprehend The house looks amazing. I can see how you might rent for the week with a group. 14k is still steep, yes, but it's a lot less intimidating when it's split 5 ways. My sister pays something in that range each year for her vacation at the shore. Some people really do have more money than they know what to do with, though, so I don't doubt there are single rentors. What does not look amazing is the surrounding neighborhood. That aerial shot looks like they just plunked a luxury mansion down in the middle of scrub forest. I'm going to assume that what I'm actually seeing is light forestation near the beach and that the path at the bottom is connecting to a boardwalk, because if this is a tourist town then this all makes a lot more sense. --- Only the exceptions can be exceptional. ...
