Oh I know, and for quite some time I was just doing log in bonuses and such, while quietly amassing some relics, but I'm still pumped I'm making progress for the first time in a while lol.

Garland down in the exact same time as Phekryos, 16.69. I clearly didn't read the description of Master's AASB correctly, which means I was very surprised when he quadcast ironfist earth lol.

Will set up my FF XI team a bit later tonight, but that shouldn't have issues. FF XII will be interesting, then it's just the last few level 3 torments to finish. Then I have to decide whether to go after an Odin first, or a dreambreaker.

Phrekyos melted to the demolition of Emperor and Minwu SASBs. Emperor had his AASB ready to go too, but wasn't needed, dead in 16.69. Took two tries though. First try, I was trying to go full burst and ate a 23k incubus starfall lol. Second time, I made sure I had used Hilda's USB first, so everyone had last stand up.

Gonna set up for FF I now I think. WoL SASB/AASB and Matoya AASB should hopefully be enough. I have Sarah's AASB, so healing should hopefully be set.

Going through some of the torments I haven't done yet. Just did the FFXIV one in 22.22. Alph SASB and Papalymo AASB basically nuked him.

Got all of FF I, II, XI, and XII to do, as well as the last torment level of FF III, VI, and T0. I want to get these all done to give a dreambreaker a shot. Nowhere close to Dragonking yet lol

Diabolos down in 30.20. Was soooo close to sub30 but had to re-up chain right at the end, and he jumped to savage 3, so that cut down DPS a little bit. Lost the first time at 85%. Timing that third phase is everything, because I have to destroy the rift, but only ONCE. Can't use Yuna's AOSB since she needs to make sure she has gauge for a second chain cast, so initially I used one of Hope's sync commands I think. He DCed, so it was back in the normal world, which wasted a turn, and then I got wasted lol. Was a bit more careful second time, and got the win.

So that's 6/8 physical and 2/8 magical done. Will get the opposites at some point too, but I'm pumped that I've finally beaten all the 6*s! For WOdin, do I have to get all 16 kills, or is the 8 enough?

Yeah he sleeps 4 people at some point which was ultra-obnoxious (on my 20% run I got lucky and was able to clear with Mog's AASB2 chase on his next move). I think the main issues for me were that I was using pretty low hit count abilities (Anima with Seymour, whatever the imperil ability's called with Vayne) and I couldn't get enough meter to use Golbez's sync after chaining with him... I guess I probably should have used a meter RM on him. I was basically constantly capping on everyone while the chain was up, so presumably fixing those issues could get me a win but it's just so annoying.

Actually it might be easier for me to ignore Golbez's chain and use the RW one so he can use his sync right away? Not sure how much I need his chain's buffs here, but probably worth a shot.

Hmm, I wonder if this was where I used Tyro's USB1 to block it. Though I think that was actually in whatever Odin battle that he tries to petrify you (lightning weak I think?). Could be worth a look though.

Also, the more I look at Diabolos, and the more I look at my options, the more I think I may go magic instead.

Dark weak Dark Odin suuuuucks from what I remember. I don't remember the specifics, but I remember him being one of the hardest ones. I had a pretty murderous Sephiroth, and still struggled a bit.

You basically need to have some kind of party esuna effect for Diabolos, if you do he's not that bad. Tyro's glint is a good one for this fight. I think you basically just need to use it twice at the right times to end fever dream and the rest of the time just keep attacking. Also I think you want your DPS in the bottom 3 slots so they don't get immediately fever dreamed in phase 1 but I could be misremembering.

Looking at the script, looks like it's regular world in phase 1, dream world phase 2, and then phase 3 starts regular, but if you destroy the rift, you go to dream world. He hits slot 1 and 2 with the dream thing early in phase 1, then slots 4 and 5 a bit later. Gonna put Orlandu in slot 3, and Agrias and Ramza in 4 and 5. I wonder if it's just easier to destroy the rift once in phase 3 and keep him in dream world, so I don't have to worry about constant switching. I know he stacks the pain real fast though.

Well that was pretty easy. Seph and Shadow syncs (both had AASBs that were never used), Seifer chain, Tyro+Elarra. Had to make the light sphere move once, but that was it.

So only Diabolos left. He's apparently one of the most difficult ones, so that's a bit concerning. I do have Orlandu and Agrias Sync/AASBs and Ramza chain, so that should be helpful.

Ive only cleared mag weak Titan, phys weak Leviathan, and now both Shivas. I think I possibly have the tech to kill Ramuh (Ive gotten him to P3) but Im not great at the game and dont have the patience to spend hours working out non-power creep clears.

I think the main issue with using Ysh as dps is that shes the realms only healer (unless youre gonna take an out of realm healer instead of support).

Valefor down in 42.28!

Finally just selected Lagunas chain since I had one selection from a while ago apparently lol, so used that, subbed Tyro in for Celes and Elarra in for Aeris. Toootally forgot to bring dispel on anyone, so Valefor was hasted for quite some time. Used Squall and Ayame SASBs right after using Lagunas chain, around 12 seconds or so. Then once Valefor came back down, used both of their AASBs (and re casted chain). Frost fire carnage and renzokuken demolished the tornados. Definitely not a fast clear, but it was relatively safe, as Tyro entrusted Elarra plenty of bars. Squall had so much SB gauge left over lol. His AOSB was the killing blow, though it definitely wasnt necessary.

Just Alexander and Diablos left. Ive heard Alex is stupid easy and Diablos is difficult. I have a pretty solid dark and holy team, both physical and magic, so hopefully Im ready.

Celes can use Banishing Strike, Squall can use Dispel. Those are two more options for dispel if you're hurting for slots and can spare an ability slot from either one.

(I used the former option)

I have other stuff for him IIRC, including an imperil USB I believe. I likely don't need critfix, so maybe tossing Laguna into that 4th spot instead of Tyro can work. Only other issue would be hastega. Aeris needs to have dispel for when Valefor hastes herself, and I don't have her USB1. I suppose I could put Elarra in there instead, since her AASB has haste, but Aeris is so good with the physical quickcast on both Sync and USB2.

This is all well and good, but none of those gives me any imperil, and I'm pretty sure Valefor has bar ice at least one or twice. Can I get by using only Shiva for imperils?

Got her first try. Hammered through phase 2 pretty easily, while saving Noctis AASB for phase 3. That bulk and instant savage 3 jump is no joke though, Locke became pretty useless fast. Noctis MVP though, hit that AOSB2 for about 16k a pop before the 100k finish. Didn't even deal with the walls, mainly because I put the wrong samurai skill in slot 2 lmao. So she healed for 150k at the start of phase 3.

Edit: Time was 40.46, so definitely my slowest time, but figured I needed to build to skip as much of phase 2 as possible.

Time was 37.59, but I dont even care. Fuck that fight. Got hit with his 25% hellfire and then perdition painflare literally immediately afterwards. Thank god for multiple last stands and a queued up Elarra USB1 at the time.

Will look at putting a fire team together for Shiva tomorrow. Cant imagine going back to magic Ifrit any time in the next century lol

I wonder, is it viable to go double healer, yuffie, Rikku chain/AASB, and Tidus sync/AASB/USB1/bUSB? Ifrit seems squishy enough that if Yuffie is dealing with the pillars, 1.5 DPS may be enough?

Got Ifrit down to 15%, but still can't beat him. These goddamn pillars are going to be the end of me.

Tried with just Aeris as healer, and Tyro supporting. Then tried with both Aeris and Elarra. Tidus sync/AASB, Bartz AASB4/AASB1, Rikku CSB/AASB are the core of this team. I guess maybe using Tidus USB1 or 2 to use on one of the pillars in phase 1 may be best, instead of his sync. Too much damage is a huge hinderance in this ridiculous fight.

Had to have the person in slot 1 (Tyro) hit an air bubble once, but that was it. Lightning sync is indeed crazy, but it helped that I also had her AASB. Aranea as secondary DPS was decent, and Prompto with chain and imperils was quite helpful. Tyro AASB and Aeris sync/USB1 rounded out the team.

I guess its Ifrit next. I have a fairly strong FFX water team in itself, need to look through my other options also. Tidus sync/AASB will likely anchor the team

In terms of lightning DPS, the only syncs I have are Lightning and Shantotto. I have both of their AASBs as well. For physical, I have both Prompto's and Queen's chain, though Prompto seems more suited to imperiling, so he likely gets the nod here. For magic, both Desch and Garnet chains, though not much else for them. I also have Kain and Aranea AASBs for physical, while not much else good for magic, though I do have Ashe AASB and Dyad, so that's a consideration.

Finally been playing this a bit more.

Labyrinth is definitely interesting. I view it as something you take your sweet time doing, and don't just try and rush through/grind, as that can get terrible quickly. Having it as a side thing you can do, rather than locking you in and not allowing you to do other things as you explore, was a good idea.

Finally took a shot at a second 6* magicite. Titan was the only one I had beaten previously, majorly due to God Cloud and his band of supporters. Thankfully power creep exists, and I definitely have some fun toys.

Took on Ramuh (magic), and beat him first try with a 24.60 time! Elarra's last stand from her AASB never triggered, but that doesn't mean Ramuh can't hit damn hard. That lightning king thunder move thing did around 9k to each character. Thought I was in trouble towards the end, because Elarra didn't have enough bars to use USB1 again, and her AASB had run out.

The reason I wasn't was because my earth magic DPS is pretty scary. Emperor SASB/AASB/HA, Red XIII SASB/AASB/HA, Rydia AASB/HA, Tellah CSB (who was also on activate Titan duty), and Elarra G+/AASB/USB1 was my team.

I guess Leviathan is next?

The lack of almost any real meaningful interaction with any of the Heaven's Ward is a bit of a downer on HW for me overall. Haurchefant dying to a nobody I never have an likely never will care to learn the name of also dampened that death a bit. It's certainly why I think the patches are better than the main game. Don't get me wrong 3.0 is fantastic even if it's no 5.0, but I feel like it could have been better if they explored the enemy faction a bit more. Imagine if that reveal of who threw the lance of light, had, like, even the SLIGHTEST impact whatsoever?

This is a very good point, pretty heavily agree here. I do very much love the story (and it's much better than ARR), but you definitely raise a good point here.

Forgot about the alliance raids for Heavensward, whoops.

Did Void Ark and the Weeping City. Void Ark was pretty cool, but the Weeping City was fucking awesome. Lots of ominous messages from the alliance as we were on our way to the third boss, but that still didn't prepare me for the moment I saw fucking Ozma. The PTSD from that fight in a previous final fantasy came back in droves lol. Ended up dying right as he died somehow.

Also, this looks like Diablos from FF VIII, after watching his entrance in that cutscene after the Weeping City. He's pretty badass as well.

You weren't kidding. Starting to heavily dislike Rhalgr's Reach for this reason. Finally looking to be prepping an assault, so maybe it's done?

When I roulette Baelsar's Wall, my first and generally only thought every single time is "I can't wait for sloppy".

First time players seem to have a lot of trouble with the boss in my experience. They panic and don't realize that you just need to DPS the center AOE.

Yeah it kinda hides when all the AOEs show up, but we got it down.

I ran this dungeon for the first time last week and gave my usual greeting to the party with a heads up that I'm new and to let me know if there's anything tricky I should know. Of course, the response I got was "Sloppy," which confused me until we reached the boss XD

I'm now sad this didn't happy to me lol. Though to be fair, I just said I was new, not asking about specific mechanics. Maybe I should in the future lol
