Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Technically beat it earlier, but hadn't killed Demon of Hatred yet. Did so a little while ago. Very much enjoyed this game, a nice little change from the Dark Souls battle system (moreso deflecting than dodging). Definitely was challenging at times, but didn't seem to be in an unfair way!

Not yet, I got the Crown so I consider the DLC "beaten", but I still plan to finish that area. I got to the boss once, by sheer dumb luck. Wondered why I was doing so much damage to it, and then the second one showed up... Since I was unprepared, I died quite quickly. Will try again later tonight when I have time, but my main issue is getting to it, since I have no idea where to go. I managed to get all turned around and got back to the beginning once, and was in complete disbelief lol.

Dark Souls 2: Crown of the Ivory King DLC

Holy balls this was difficult. Got murdered by Aava right away since he was invisible, realized I clearly can't fight him then, and scrambled around Eleum Loyce. The frozen knights that are immune to backstabs are fairly challenging when they gang up on you.

All that said, nothing is as cool as when you get past all of that, defeat Aava, find the 3 Loyce knights to help you, and drop into (essentially) literal Hell. The battle against the charred Loyce knights was difficult enough, and I died a fair few times there, but when the giant portal shows up and the Burnt Ivory King makes his entrance, that is just such a cool moment. He killed me probably 10ish times before I won, but man what an epic atmosphere for a boss fight.

All I had left was an area to light some torches, which I could do now because the blizzard stopped, finding a key, and having some coffin slide down to a place called Frigid Outskirts. Giant blizzard, can't see anything, and getting ganked by an endless amount of demon reindeer...

I know it's not technically its own game, but I'm gonna treat them as such just to talk about them.

Shulva was a cool place to navigate, though was ambushed by those knights a bunch of times. The mad dash around the Dragon Sanctum while those ghost warriors chased me to find their physical bodies was pretty exhilarating. The 3-on-1 boss fight was fairly annoying, mainly because of the run to get to them (stupid petrify statues...). Elana was brutal, as every time I turned to deal with the skeletons, I got murdered by those dark magic balls. Sinh was definitely the best boss fight of this DLC. Took a few tries, but got it figured out.

Will be updating this/making a new post with the second DLC once I finish it, still have a couple bosses to beat there. Though as an aside, I did indeed beat Fume Knight after like, literally 40 tries.

Dark Souls 2: Crown of the Old Iron King DLC

This was definitely more difficult than the last DLC. Having to deal with all those damn idols was annoying, as were those giant metal warriors that spewed lava. Very large area, but was pretty cool to explore.

Regarding bosses, this DLC had two of the best in the game, easily. Fume Knight and Sir Alonne were both awesome fights, even if the Fume Knight battle took me 30-40 tries (that long sword sweep was devastating). The run up to Sir Alonne was awful though. As was the run to Smelter Demon 2.0, since I had so many issues with the first one, way back.

One more DLC to go, then likely onto either Dark Souls 3 or Sekiro.

Was feeling like if the Avs won Game 7 they're headed right for the cup, but with that goalie situation, feeling less confident.

Grubauer injured, out indefinitely. Francouz was pretty brutal during games 3 and 4, so they put Hutch in for game 5. They spotted him a 5-0 lead in the first period of game 5, so he was never really in danger. Then last game, outside of that super weak one, he was fine, though his rebound control was spotty at best.

You can keep returning to the Ultima draw point in Shumi village. It recharges. And once you use a phoenix pinion in combat, there is a random chance for the rest of the game that the phoenix will automatically be summoned In case of a party wipe.

That was a huge part of how I beat Omega Weapon when I was a kid. Activated twice, IIRC.

Holy shit was that a nail-biter. Sap made Aeris and Rikku both die (right after Rikku summoned Famfrit), Bartz was out of stormspell strikes and was about to bite it to sap, both fabula mages were already spent, and he was sitting at 5.2%. I had renewed chain earlier, and Tidus was still in AASB mode, so constant DCs of sapphire bullets, but it left him at 0.9%! Savage Zantetsuken 1 triggered last stand, and (I assume) right before the sap tick would have ended him, he got one last sapphire bullet off. 39ish seconds.

That's 5 of those fuckers done. Got the 5 accessories!! I'm going to go through my other accessories and rainbow all the ones that have a moderate resist of two elements, and some others. Will keep a few niche ones (notably the +atk or mag and resist an element ones), but this is a huge milestone for me!

Ughhhh I had water-weak Dark Odin set up to kill, but Tiduss ace shot chase hit for 99k and pushed him into phase 3. Bartzs AOSB was going off shortly, as was Rikkus chain again. Super frustrating.

Was constantly getting run over early, so decided to lifesiphon with Tidus, then use bUSB so I could get Odins rage back down without having to burn a fabula mage. His brave command brings it down one, Famfrit brings it down a second time, so the first savage zantetsuken is only level 0 (3k damage). Still pretty sure I can beat him, though sap can mess with last stand towards the end.

Fire-weak Dark Odin down in 27.97!

Noctis lifesiphon x 4 (3 of them instant cast thanks to his LM2), AASB, Sync, Cmd 2 x 3, Cmd 1 x 2, AOSB, Cmd 1 spam.

Squall provided solid secondary DPS with his fire AASB and inferno assault (and his glint+, which gave fire infusion), and Balthier was king of imperils. Tyro AASB for support, and Aeris on healing duty.

That's 4 done, if I can get a 5th out of the way, then I'll be good for a bit, and can start rainbow crystalling some double resist accessories.

EDIT: For water weak, I may go:

Rydia AASB/AOSB
Lunafreya Sync
Rikku CSB/imperil SBs
Tyro USB3/entrust bot
Elarra AASB/USB1

Only issue is that both Luna and Freya are competing for summon abilities. So Lunar Leviathan would likely go to Rydia, and Ogopogo to Luna, since Luna's main damage is from cmd 1, and Ogo is just a chase. I could technically go physical (Bartz, Tidus, Wakka, Kimahri, Rikku AASBs) instead, so maybe I'll try a test run of magic, and if it fails, go back to physical.

Great Form should have been an ASAP get since it's Assault Saber without the defense penalty and it gets a (minor) damage reduction instead.

Theres definitely some dreams dungeons I still have to do. Got real lazy and missed a bunch way back when, but thats a good call, should hammer through those before the torments I have left.

Slammed my face against earth weak dark Odin, but couldnt outrace phase 3. Paired up Bartz and Rydia, and neither have en earth. Bartz has the en earth BSB, and Rydia has the USB that provides it, but I feel Id run out of hones (especially healing), and fall in phase 2. Gonna put that to rest for the moment and give fire weak a shot. Got Noctis sync+AASB+AOSB and Balthier chain. Bartz may be my secondary DPS, but I feel I can maybe pull it off.

Used Celes AOSB a tad early; it pushed him into third phase, but left him at 26%. Couldve used SSS one more time (DCed because of awakening), and then gone with it. Either way, still got it done. Squalls sync+AASB put in work, even with only Frans chain as support.

Thats 3 odins down in 3 days. Would love to get two more so I have 5 Odin accessories, and can rainbow crystal some others. I think earth-weak is likely next on the list, followed by fire weak. Water weak may also be doable. I have the tools for wind and dark weak, but I know both of those can be quite difficult.

Holy-weak Dark Odin downed in about 33-34 seconds.

Ironically, it was after the first savage elemental drive again, and by the second Fabula Mage again, just like lightning-weak. Didn't make any real changes, just had Orlandu use his Sync right after Ramza dropped chain, and later on, wait a little bit to use command 1 when Odin was right around 32% so the first cast did 30k x 6, and the second was about 20k x 6 since he had entered phase 3. Still started with a chunk of his health being gone, which was nice.

Think I'm going to try ice-weak next. What I think I'm gonna go with:

Squall Sync+AASB+AOSB
Celes AASB+AOSB
Fran CSB+imperil USB
Tyro USB3+AASB
Aeris USB2

Got hammered by wind zanokuken which killed 3 people in two runs before I realized that the Mateus I had in the MM role was my blocker Mateus, not my double dampen Mateus lol. Going to give it another shot. I also have Serah's chain, and her imperil BSB, but gonna try Fran first and see how it goes with icy offering and USB.

Got him within 4% and 2%. I'm wondering if maybe I try and find another physical holy AASB, as I do have a couple. Rem is solid, but she just doesn't seem to do a bunch of damage like Orlandu does, even with 2x holy boosting equips, a mind boon, etc. Problem is, she's my holy imperiler, and I don't have Agrias' AASB, so unsure if that would be a good idea.

Lightning-weak Dark Odin downed in 31.92!

Used the same team listed before. Experimented with the lionheart RM on Aeris, but ended up going back to TGM. Used Lightning's glint+ to make sure he was at full imperil, which also took him down to 30.2%, and then unloaded Noctis's AOSB to get everything out of it I could without dealing with the phase 3 tank. Got him down quite a bit, ended up killing him with the second Fabula Mage just after his first savage elemental drive. Using Tyro's SG, enabling me to RW Fabula Mage, was a huge boon, so thank you for that suggestion!

Finally got one of those moderate resist all accessories! My only worry is that lightning is one of my better elements, with easy imperil options (Prompto LMs, Prompto glint+, plasma shock, Lightning glint+, Quetz), and it took everything I had and then some. I have Squall Sync for ice, though only a magic ice chain (Serah), but I have TGC's Sync+AASB, Rem AASB, and Ramza chain, so maybe holy-weak is worth a go?

Don't forget Tyro can use SG for 1 bar now. If you have his LMR I think you'll have enough time to wrath>USB1>wrath>SG. If you need more DPS you might consider lensing his USB4 as well.

I have both his USB4 and AASB, though Noctis gets 100% crit chance from his AASB, so I think Tyro's AASB would mess with that unfortunately. You make a great point regarding SG being only one bar though! Could do that, then keep entrusting everything else to Aeris all the time

Also, cant quite finish lightning weak Odin.

Noctis: hurricane bolt, impulse dive, AASB/AOSB (much more lightning)
Lightning: LS, ripper plasma, AASB (much more weakness)
Prompto: plasma shock, tempest snipe, CSB/USB1, MM
Tyro: wrath, entrust, USB1, DMT
Aeris: curada, dispel, USB/g+, TGM
RW: wall
Quetz, BK, Famfrit, Madeen (double atk), Madeen (fast act, HP)

Lightning and Prompto also both have their glint+s, so imperilling isnt an issue. Hit Noctiss AOSB as soon as phase 3 began, so that may have tanked its damage a bit (10k x 20, woulda likely been higher if I had started right before the transition). Aeris has her glint+ but I need wall or I cant survive chain watera since it hits 4 times.

Tried a setup for Lightning weak, got it to 11% but couldn't close it out. Noctis AOSB did 10kx20 + 99k, which was helpful, but I had to go fabula guardian instead of mage, because I needed wall to stop chain watera early on. Shellga was helpful, but it still killed people before Aeris had time to get her USB going. Lightning is my other DPS, as I have her AASB and DC LMR, though not her AOSB.

Maybe I'll take your advice and look at ice-weak first, as I have some options there.

I FINALLY crafted an auto 5* magicite team. Did it for Phoenix, which is perfect because I still need a bunch to inherit health boons.

Tidus: Sapphire Bullet, AASB/USB1, much more water
Bartz: Stormspell Strike, AASB/AOSB, much more spellblade
Rikku: Aquatic Weakness, glint+/CSB, much more fist
Tyro: Trinity Bombshell, USB3, DMT
Elarra: Curada, AASB/USB1, MM
MM: Famfrit
RW: Fabula Mage

Aeris was having issues keeping everyone alive, but I thought I could still pull it off with one healer. Elarras combo works perfectly. Thinking of maybe giving Tyro ultra cure, just in case, but last stand never triggered, so I may be fine. Ran it 3 times so far, speed 1, finishes at 22-23 seconds.

Super pumped that I can finally have these mindlessly done for missions and such!

Finally been getting through some stuff. Did all 3 difficulties of torment Dahaka (Raines and Lightning AASBs were deadly), all of dreams Ugallu, got some ruby abilities (iron fist ice, lunar ifrit, inferno assault, aquatic weakness), and finished up almost all my 5* magicite farming. Only one I still need is Phoenix, gotta farm a bunch of copies still to inherit hp boons to all my dampens. Got my Famfrit and Phoenix blockers done, need an hp boon to finish my Mateus blocker.

I think its time to foray into the dark Odin realm. I think I can take on lightning weak (Prompto chain, Noctis AASB, Lightning AASB). Would use Kain instead of Noctis, but the IC3 from Noctis at the beginning, along with the 20+1 hit AOSB I have later is quite powerful. Prompto is godlike for imperiling also.

If you rotate commands 2 and 1 after using the sync, doesn't that give BDL9 without needing to use his USB2?

Ugh got torment Calbrena in 33.21. Got a bunch of awakenings, but they take so long to get going. I guess I could give one of them MM to start in the first chain instead of unleashing everything at the same time. Regardless, got a bunch of rubies, so that was nice.
