Pretty cool ending to the post-Heavensward patches. Was definitely a pretty fun ride. Did not see that twist coming with Yda, and the Papalymo death scene was pretty crazy too.

Something tells me I haven't exactly seen the last of Shinryu or Omega, either, so that will be fun.

Wiped a few times, but eventually got him down, even though on the winning run I was body checked off the edge lol. Aside from the minstrel version of Ultima Weapon, thats the first extreme under my belt!

Quasar will, I believe, knock you towards the heavier side of the scales. This is simple to note on Normal, since I think there's only one meteor dropping, but on Savage multiple will drop on both sides- while she's nuking areas with Thunder.

Did the first containment bay trial, that was definitely a super cool fight. The music during the first phase being a call back to FF VI was awesome!

Also joined a group that did turn 1 of the Coils of Bahamut. That was definitely interesting. I forgot Alisaie existed lol. Interesting mechanics on that boss too. Hoping to get as much done on the weekend as I can, and potentially get to Stormblood also!

Oh damn, Heavensward beaten!!

Every part of Azys Lla was awesome. That last dungeon was super cool, though with a name like The Warring Triad, I was waiting for other specific battles. Maybe later? Time will tell.

The final boss fight against The fucking Knights of the Round was epic as hell! Yeah it wasn't super hard or anything, but the atmosphere was insane, the beginning of the boss theme really set it up as a fight of gigantic proportions, and some of those attacks were super cool.

Overall, I was super impressed with Heavensward. Less fetch quests, more epic battles, most of the dungeons were much cooler than ARR, and it was just a great experience in general!

Got the ilvl 270 bow and body armor so far, so will need a bunch more poetics for the other stuff, but definitely a good start. Ended up finishing the Relic Reborn quest too, mainly to unlock the Hydra trial, and to have the bow glamour just in case. I've seen a couple party finders come up for Coils of Bahamut, so may create my own at some point to go through it.

I don't do any of the roulettes yet, as I get plenty of exp during the MSQ (as advised by some of you, so thank you!). But sometimes I'll do the Trial roulette, as it's fun fighting bosses. Since that first run of multiple Thornmarches, I've gotten multiple different ones (Battle on the Big Bridge/Keep seem to like popping up). But today, Thornmarch again...

4 tries this time. The first two, neither of the tanks kept the King in any specific area, so he essentially wandered around murdering people. Third try was better, but the whirlwind thing by one of the moogles took out 6 people.

Good lord do I hate that one...

In the future you can use the Party Finder for stuff like that and it'll fill faster. Extreme Trials (Minstrel's Ballad's are a subset of those) typically get run via people joining premade parties in Party Finder and going in manually. It also allows you to unsync it (allow people to go in above the normal level/item cap) which is how people typically do outdated fights in this game. And if you want to experience it as intended you can find people to do it that way as well. If you advertise newbie bonus you'll probably get takers either way.

Everyone does this at some point when they start playing, lol. Maybe they should make it more obvious.

Will keep this in mind! As well as previous advice to use that for Coils of Bahamut. How much time should I set aside for each turn?

Sat in a queue for minstrel's ballad: Ultima's Bane for a little over an hour while I got stuff done. Nice to have that out of the way, and the extra poetics gave me enough to get the ilvl 270 bow (everything else is in the 140-145 range), so that was sweet! Also that piano remix of Matoya's theme was quite good!

Naw just the bigger ilevel every time for now. I guess depending on your melding build there might be some back and forth for certain gear slots at level cap for best in slot, but for all content before cap its just bigger number auto equip every time.

Not a whole lot to report. Did the level 50, 52, and 54 bard job quests, so now I have wanderer's minuet and empyreal arrow to add to my hotbars somehow (and pitch perfect). Did some MSQ as well, and seeing Bismarck soar through (and splash through) the clouds was pretty cool. Last quest I did was the 2 on 2 trial by combat against Gregor Cle.......uhh, I mean the temple knights. That was actually pretty cool, but the best part was being the best scion's champion! Tataru for life!

Alphinaud's VA is throwing me off a bit. I knew the VAs changed based on relocating, but it was a little jarring. I assume there will be others too.

Damn did the story go hard at the end there. What a crazy series of events. The double crossing was easy to predict and such, but everything else was a rush to watch. Though there was definitely some satisfaction in watching Raubaun murder Teledji, because fuck that guy.

Clearly all the scions aren't dead, so I'm interested in how this moves forward. But yeah, after a bunch of fetch quests, a few dungeons and trials, and things of that nature, those last 45-60ish minutes were crazy!

Got through a whole bunch of quests yesterday, got 4 left until Heavensward, though I need to get deeper in the Crystal Tower questline before continuing.

The Chrysalis was fun, we wiped once due to Dark IV murdering everyone (too many orbs got through to Nabriales), but then got him second time.

The Steps of Faith was a bit odd, because I'm pretty sure our party didn't do the mechanics at all. Not one cannon was manned, we just all bursted down the boss.

Yeah it was definitely a hike. The "shortcut" leads to a screen where you have to exit to a different screen? Not much of a shortcut.

I feel like I'm not doing a whole lotta damage as a bard, but I think that may be just how it goes? I think I'm using my skills somewhat right, for what I have.

Took a look ahead, not at the specifics, but to see how many main quests I have left to do. By my count, I have 20 left, before Heavensward. May be able to hammer out half of those tonight, depending if there are dungeons/trials to queue for (though my queue luck was great earlier).

Garuda and Titan both beaten again. Both queues were super fast again, within 5 minutes. Wiped to Titan because the boulders exploding killed some, and he knocked others off the platform lol.
