I can believe it. The internet is full of stories and confessions from mothers of children with severe mental deficiencies who more or less spend every day quietly hoping their child dies. It's a hellish life with no rewards, no breaks, and you're expected to put on a smile and tell the world about how wonderful things are.

I think it hits a bit harder because I heard a bit about the story initially, but when I heard it, the mother was pretty adamantly claiming that it was a gang kidnapping. I actually felt sorry for her when I heard it, but then I saw that and it was that much worse.

Shit's just so fucked up.

Not sure if this has been posted (couldn't find it when searching, at least), but I've seen this story come up a few times. Apparently the woman's son was found dead, and she was a suspect in his murder, but she claimed that the son was kidnapped at gunpoint by a gang and killed by them. However, there's now apparently video evidence of her attempting to drown him.

I say "attempting" because the son was rescued, but apparently the mother then tried it again and was successful.

Jeez. That's one of the darkest stories that I've heard in a long while. I genuinely hope that it's fake, but it doesn't appear to be.

Naruto has some good stuff. UNS is good for anime arena fighters. They aren't deep, but they go crazy with great graphics, huge rosters, and tons of fanservice. Clash of Ninja is shockingly decent as far as more traditional fighting games go, though the series is long-dead. I've heard that the other games suck.

I downloaded the second DS Bleach fighting game ages ago, and they were quite good as far as somewhat traditional fighting games go. There are some balance issues, but it's probably one of the closest anime FGs that I've seen in terms of being able to support higher level play, if they weren't on the DS. I haven't heard much good stuff about the other Bleach games, but I've never tried them.

Can't speak on OP at all.

Friendship isnt a court of law. If you dont want to be friends or stay in contact, then you dont have to. I would explain the reason, though, since youve been friends for years. Ghosting isnt good.

That said, do you know if hes introverted or has social anxiety? Either of those things could cause him to cancel plans like that. It may not be about respect. But still, if you dont want to be friends, then you have every right to cut ties.

To be blunt, I severely doubt it. He's always been very talkative to most people and seems way more extroverted than anything. Unless he's really, really good at hiding it, I sincerely doubt it.

Have more self-respect and express to him that hes an asshole. Stop being a doormat.

Any relationship is founded on communication. Without it, you end up asking Gamefaq about stuff when they dont have the same context you have.

Confront him first. See what he does. Dont just ghost him. Talk to him. Real life isnt Twitter where you just block people if they do things you dont like.

And please dont be petty and do it back to him. He may be oblivious it bothers you, believe it or not.

That's fair really.

I haven't, mostly because we had already kind of finished texting well before I saw that he was playing League and got mad about it. I've been thinking of confronting him about it, but I'm also pretty bad about confronting people.

As far as taking time off, my schedule is flexible enough that it wasn't the end of the world, but it's still a day that I otherwise would have been working and where I had to move my hours around to compensate for it. It's enough of a headache that it's frustrating that he canceled to play League, at least.

I'm a little bit pissed off right now, not gonna lie.

So, backstory: This friend has a long history of flaking on plans. I genuinely can't begin to estimate how many times he's backed out of plans over the years, or even just made plans but ghosted entirely on the day we were supposed to do something, but it's been dozens of times at least. I usually just kind of roll my eyes and move on. However, this time, I'm genuinely mad about it.

Last week, he texted me while I was working asking to hang out. I told him that I was working, and he said that he was off the following Thursday (as in, today), and he asked me to take the day off so we could do something. I reluctantly said yes and took today off. Fast forward to yesterday, and he again texts to ask if we're hanging out, and I say yes.

Well, today, I got woken up a decent bit earlier than usual, but I decided to stay up since it was only an hour or so until when we were planning to hang out. Wait around for a while until the appointed time and then I text him, and he says that he might just do some stuff around his house today instead.

I was already pretty annoyed, since the dude asked me to take off work and reaffirmed the plans but then canceled, but a bit after that, I happened to check Discord and saw that he was playing League of Legends. He didn't cancel to get anything done, he just backed out to play League.

I'm kind of at the point where I'm ready to just cut him the fuck off. It's annoying enough that this happens a lot, but this time really, really pissed me off.

Am I wrong for wanting to cut ties with him over this, or should I just shrug it off?

I don't plan to get the DLC until I finish all four base game routes. Still in White Clouds of Blue Lions, my second playthrough, so there is a whiles to go yet.

It's not really a spoiler, as it's just some dialogue between the two if you talk to them in your base between chapters. It doesn't spoil anything from the DLC or any other routes, and it goes along with this topic, but I spoiler tagged it just in case.

Edit: Also, if you're thinking of getting the DLC, I'd do it before a route. It's its own side story, and beating it enhances your playthroughs of other routes. You get another decently large area in the monastery, four new characters that you can recruit really early on in any route, and a number of bells and whistles. I think the DLC is best done before starting a new route, and it's best to run routes after doing it since you get some stuff in the main game. In particular, you'll want to do at least one route after the DLC route, since you can't get supports for Yuri/Balthus/Constance/Hapi in the DLC, and you can only do those (and thus learn more about them) in the main game. They're all great characters, and their supports are amazing.

We don't know.

The information that we have:

There were rumors of his death a few days ago, which came back in force with more reports yesterday. No official avenue has confirmed his death.
China allegedly sent doctors down to North Korea to aid them in something.
South Korea denies that he died.
Some Chinese news outlets plus TMZ have reported that he died.
Japan is saying that he's vegetative.

Basically, nobody seems to know for sure, and we probably won't have any official news until North Korea announces it for sure.

So, I just found this thread and didn't read it all (just the beginning/end), so I apologize if this has been said, but have you looked into supplemental mother's milk for kittens? Some stores sell it, it's designed for kittens who either get separated from their mothers or who have mothers that can't help them in some form.

I found an injured kitten near my house a while back, and she was very weak and timid for a while, but we bought that milk for her and she improved dramatically. She became a lot more energetic and playful within like a day of giving it to her.

Sorry again if that's been mentioned before, but it came to mind there a bit.

So just to confirm:

-The newest report from tonight is seemingly a pre-written obituary that was published by mistake and then circulated a bit.
-However, KJU still hasn't been seen in at least a few days.
-Rumors from a few days ago are still unconfirmed, with the US supposedly hearing something about a surgery that may or may not have gone wrong.
-Ultimately, nobody outside of North Korea knows for sure if he's dead or alive.

Correct? I feel like that's where we're at, but it's really hard to determine for sure, as I've seen a lot of people treating it like it has been confirmed or outright proven false without much definitive info.

The Persona Dancing games aren't RPGs but rhythm games. They aren't bad as those go and the music is good, but your mileage will vary on if you liked the cast of each of the games. 4 actually serves as [another] final adventure for the cast and serves as a nice farewell. 3 and 5 were literally "the other guys got a dancing game so we should too" as far as main story goes, but they have the social links ladders so you can get little vignettes on everyone.

If you liked any from Persona 3 - 5, their corresponding dance game won't be a waste of time.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm feeling. They seem like just okay rhythm games with a lot of fanservice from a series that I really love. With that in mind, they're probably worth it to me on that level (especially for the full set at $20, that's a really tempting price for three in one).

FFXV people are still highly mixed on.

SO5 it seems like some people love and others hate.

Opinions on SO1 seem positive.

TLR seems like a skip.

Persona Collection is iffy (though, for what it's worth, even if it's similar to other games, I really love P3/4/5, so fanservice alone would push me more towards Persona than other games that are similar).

Jojo is a hard skip. (I like the series, but not enough to try it if it's that bad).

I have mixed feelings about FF15. I enjoyed parts of it while other sections are absolute chores to play through. Also you need to watch movies/anime to get a full grasp of the plot which is just dumb.

I played and beat SO5. I remember almost nothing about the plot. It's pretty mediocre but I wouldn't say that it's bad or anything. I thought that 4 was actually bad. It's at least better than that game.

Haven't played any of the others.

Yeah, I feel like I hear mixed things about FF15 all around. Definitely a tough one to get a grasp on there. I've been kind of waiting for it to get really cheap, and it's at least in the range that I'd consider it in now.

Seems like the opinions are a bit negative towards SO5 at the moment.

One thing that I should have noted in the first post is that I'm almost certainly getting AI: The Somnium Files, and I'm mostly looking for like 1-3 things to grab along with it. So I'm mostly looking for the best few things from the list, and it's sort of sounding like SO5 might not be one from what I'm seeing thus far.

Judgment and Yakuza 0 are basically JRPGs with brawling elements rather than turn-based combat, where the (expansive) stories deal with crime and political corruption instead of saving the world affairs.

I've played DS3 (along with the DLC), loved it.

I actually own Y0, I got it for cheap a while back, but I haven't gotten around to it just yet. I probably will pretty soon.

There's a pretty damn solid PS sale going on right now ( https://blog.us.playstation.com/2020/04/23/save-up-to-50-with-playstation-stores-big-in-japan-sale/ - there's the link, since I don't think I saw another thread on it, and there are honestly some solid deals in there), and I'm considering picking a few things up, but I'd like some input on if they're worth it.

I'm considering:

Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition for $17.49, which I feel like I've seen highly mixed things on all around. It seems like some love it and some hate it. I'm also trying to establish what Royal Edition comes with, since there are so many editions and DLC packs and stuff, so I'm not sure if it's everything or not.

Persona Dancing All Night Collection for $21. It has 3/4/5 all in one, and I've considered those individually for around $20 each in the past, but I ultimately decided to hold off. I wasn't sure if those were good or not, since I've heard very little about them.

Star Ocean First Departure R ($15) or SO Integrity and Faithlessness ($12). I kinda dropped the SO series a while back, but I did enjoy 3, so I wasn't sure if 5 was as mediocre as 4 was, and if the SO1 remake was good or not.

The Last Remnant Remastered ($10). I felt like I heard good things about this aaaages ago, but I'm not really sure.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven Bundle ($9). I like Jojo, but anime games can be...not good. I know absolutely nothing about this one, but it's cheap and from a show I like, so I've vaguely considered it out of sheer curiosity.

Basically, I have a few things in mind that I'd consider based on series that I like/used to like, but with entries that I haven't seen any solid opinions on to be sure if they're worth grabbing. If anyone has played those and can give an opinion on if they're worth it or not, I'd really appreciate the input.

I want Chester out, he has no personality whatsoever and is a total dud. I haven't spoken with him in like a week but he won't leave. Just found out a few hours ago. I thought her marriage was decent enough. Her husband did go out and party a lot, and she's never really been big on that kind of stuff, so I knew they had differences, but I didn't think it was up to that point, though. Apparently he already filed for divorce, and she's found a new place to live already.

I'm worried about the kids in all of this, though. Not...physically, but honestly, they both have some big emotional issues already. My niece is 8, and she's kind of got a slightly bratty streak where she throws huge fits if she doesn't get her way. My nephew is 10 and has always been kind of wild and hard to control, but it's kind of developed into causing issues in class and getting into fights on the bus. I really have no idea how they're going to handle a divorce at this point. Apparently they both know and were pretty upset, but I'm kind of concerned about long-term damage. I love them both in spite of their flaws, and I really worry about how it'll all go.

Shit's crazy. Apparently my sister and her husband have been on the rocks since like October. I honestly never noticed, they never seemed that bad off when I saw them, but apparently it's over.

It seems like there are some positive opinions about the new content, at least.

I'll have to think on it, I guess. The sale lasts for a few days, so I have a bit of time to consider it.

I mean I am such a fan I have the giant 20th anniversary collector's edition with the soundtrack CDs. If you aren't super amped to replay it this isn't going to change enough to make it worth it.

I'd be down to replay it for sure, but it's more a matter of "Replay the original some time" vs. "Buying Redux to go in again".

I'm kind of getting the sense that the new content for Redux isn't amazing, though? For just the new stuff, what I'm seeing is that it's easier, the art is worse, and the new dungeon is a slog, so it kind of sounds like I might be better off rebeating the original, at least from the impressions I've seen thus far.

Hrm, the impression that I'm getting is that the new content isn't super great. If so, I may just hold off and rebeat the original some time.

I liked it well enough, but I still have it somewhere, so if the added stuff is mediocre (which is what it seems like from the responses here?), I'm not really sure if it's worth buying it a second time.

If so, is it worth double dipping?

I liked Strange Journey well enough, and Redux is on sale for $20 right now, but I'm not really sure if it adds enough new stuff to be worth going back to.

It's an interesting mix of transparent desperation as companies try to salvage profits, and a fascinating reflection of how much things have changed in just a few weeks.

I've kind of enjoyed seeing them on those levels. They really demonstrate where we're at now.

Youd think they'd put this shit in the direct last week lol

From what I've heard, the plan was to announce this in person alongside the Mario stuff at Universal, but it all kind of got thrown off by corona. I'm guessing that it was set to be announced today, but was pushed back, leading to it being leaked everywhere.

If it's a collection, I genuinely expect preorders to sell out within literal seconds. That would be beyond incredible.

If they're individual, I still love it. I only ever rented Sunshine, and I've really wanted to go back and beat it. However, it goes for pretty obscene prices in most places these days, so I've held off. A port/remaster would be awesome there.

mmm yes corporations crawl on your bellies back to me mmmm MMMM

Oh, yeah, it's definitely pretty blatantly attempting to buy goodwill. I think that's part of what makes it kind of interesting, though. It's not really subtle that corporations are being hit hard, and they're trying to offer bells and whistles and "safe" pickup. It's interesting to see them scramble here.

Interesting... haven't watched cable in decades, but I'll look them up in YouTube. Interesting times we live in

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lybpjzUsO4w

It's hard to find some of the examples on YT, but there's a sample of one of them. There are several along the same lines of "Here's some special offers, and no contact."

It's pretty interesting to see it play out. Like I said, even a month ago, these ads would seem really bizarre.

There are so many commercials going right now, particularly in regards to fast food locations, advertising free food and specifying contact-free or minimum contact pickup. Pizza places are advertising dropping off pizzas at the door without any contact if you pay ahead, for example, and Burger King is offering free kids meals with minimum-contact pickup.

Even a month ago, these commercials would be really bizarre, but it's kind of a testament to how much things have changed in such a short span.

Just a spare observation. It's a pretty unique situation, and it's interesting to see the cultural shift as it happens.
