I've heard pretty good things about it. Neat that it's finally confirmed, since Atlus had gone pretty silent about it.

MM3DS changed more and is more hit or miss for people. I personally find like 80% of MM3DS's changes to be for the best, with swimming being the only big big miss. I think it's the better version overall.

It's pretty fucked that Fox News, infamous for being ultra right wing and skewing the truth, is too "liberal" for these people because it won't tell them what they want to hear.

It's honestly scary to see people migrating to OAN and Newsmax. They're already ready for war, and they're moving to more extreme and blatantly false news sources.

Sorry if I missed this, but which house did you pick, if you've selected one yet?

Each house does a good job of providing you with a pretty solid range of units for each class and weapon type. There aren't overly any 'must recruit' characters from other houses, and I'd generally just recommend going for characters that you like.

I'd recommend at least roughly planning out where you want characters to go with their classes in the long run, and to study appropriate subjects to get them there. It's not a huge deal to switch later, but planning classes in advance can help.

While wyverns are busted as people said, I wouldn't personally overload on them. The game is more fun with varied classes. Really, everyone has fairly clear "canon" classes, and it's not a bad idea to go with those to get a solid variety + play to their strengths.

Hard is a good starting point for a series vet. Maddening is one of the harder difficulties in the series, and it's fun for series vets, but I wouldn't recommend it until you've done at least one run and understand TH's mechanics pretty well. I personally found Hard to be a bit too easy, but still, it's a better starting point than Maddening.

I'm so torn on if I want to get P5 Royal for $20.

I've beaten (and enjoyed) the original, and I watched Royal on stream so I know what happens. But it's still a great game, if way too long for its own good, and that price is super tempting.

Honestly, this sale is pretty underwhelming.

It doesn't help that you have to dig through pages of random currency deals for things and boatloads of Sims 4 DLC to get anywhere, but still, the sale feels kind of weak as a whole.

With that said, I may grab the Spyro trilogy since it's dirt cheap.

American Dad is phenomenal, past the first season or two which are very much Family Guy lite.

I also think it actually hit its stride really late in its run, and I think the TBS move was for the better. It found its niche in a really wacky style of humor that's off the wall and very silly but in a fun way. I think most of its newer episodes are among its best, though I've admittedly missed a lot over the past few years.

The bowling episode may be my favorite of the whole show, though, and it really exemplifies the sillier but more outright funny style of humor that the shoe goes for these days, that works really well IMO.

I personally see 5's DLC case as just a bonus. You can basically insert it anywhere and be fine since it doesn't overly tie into the main story or anything. I think it's fine to save it to the end, but playing it in the middle works too.

6-6....yeah, that case is bad, sadly. Its main draw is pure nostalgia for reuniting the Phoenix/Maya/Edgeworth/Larry gang and having them all be together. Past that, the case's plot is very weak (and I called the big twist of the case in the opening scene) and Ellen is a horribly unlikable defendant. I did like aspects of the plot, and Sorin & Nichody were both decent characters, at least.

Apollo Justice suffers from very poor pacing without the overall quality of plot to support it, and a pretty bad ending that doesn't really make Apollo himself look competent. Plus, disbarred Phoenix was just... kind of a douche.

It had its enjoyable moments though. I liked Trucy better than Maya and I'm glad they kept her around for the games that followed. My overall opinion of the game is probably still higher than PW2's which just flat out sucks outside of 2-4.

I like AA2. 2-1 sucks, and 2-3 I'm mixed on (It has some really annoying aspects, but I think it handles death and how people cope with it better than almost any case in the entire series), but 2-4 is top tier (it's my third favorite case behind I2-5 & 3-5), and 2-2 is just fantastic as well. I'd put both 2-2 and 2-4 in my top ten for the series, which is a solid average since that's half the game. I also personally hate 2-3 less than most.

I personally disagree there. AA5 is a bit iffy, IMO, for really dialing up the "anime" factor of the game, but AA6 is amazing and is probably my third favorite game in the series, which is saying a lot since AA is my favorite game series of all time.

4/5/6 would be great though. I'm nearly finished with Trials and Tribulations, which is the one game from the original trilogy that I haven't finished before. I was hoping for the Apollo game some time in the future, just to tide me over once TnT is done, but a second collection would be fan-fucking-tastic.

From what I've heard, it seems to be planned for an all-in-one thing for 40. I own the trilogy port too, but I'm fine rebuying it to get two all new games to me for 40. I'm hoping we get the physical version if this is all real, because I'd love to have that for collection's sake.

If you plan to play the franchise you should play Apollo Justice for context.

The game is really bad, though. People enjoy 4-1 a lot and sure I'll let them have it, but excluding the bloody tutorial, there's not one good case to be had.

I do like Klavier as a character, though. Sure, he's not as mean spirited as other prosecutors, but there's room for that, IMO, and he does what he does well.

Yeah, AJ is pretty crucial for the series story. I think you'd miss out on a lot in AA5 and 6 if you missed it, especially in terms of Apollo's growth, which ends up being a really strong arc by the end of 6.

Danganronpa is a really good comparison. The two series have really similar structures in terms of being investigations where you find evidence and talk to characters -> trials where you use said evidence to point out contradictions. They're very different in other respects, but you can make a solid comparison in terms of their gameplay and structure.

As for AA4 and opinions on it...ehhhh. 4-1 is a top tier case, and 4-2 is a pretty good filler case. I hated 4-3, and 4-4 had some massive structural problems that made it a good deal worse for me.

It's a fair question, but honestly, 40 for the trilogy + the newly translated DGS 1 and 2 is a pretty damn solid deal, since the DGSs probably would have been 40 each if they had released normally.

Can't speak on season 2, but I heard mixed things about season 1. The consensus seemed to be that it did a passable job of just telling the stories of the games, but that it was pretty rushed.

Anyway this is good news. AA series on DS was one of my favourite gaming experiences of all time.

If you haven't, I highly recommend it. AAI2 is tied with AA3 as my favorite AA in the series.

I've heard that the second is even better. I haven't been able to play either, though, so I'm super pumped to play both if this pans out.

From what I've heard, there's an estate that owns at least some of the rights and is infamous for suing. I'm not sure on the details, but that was a rumored reason why DGS wasn't localized in the first place.

This is a totally fair stance to take, but I will say that, if it's a fake, the fakers worked very hard on it for no discernible reason.

I'm iffy about posting screenshots here, but I've seen a lot of info about the DGS thing in particular, including updated localized names (to avoid copyright concerns), boxart for the new ports, and some sales info (apparently, if this is real, Xbone isn't getting this one because the AA Trilogy port sold a dismal 1000~ copies on Xbone).

It could still be a fake, but if it is, it's a damn convincing one.

There's already a thread about the Capcom leaks, but the Ace Attorney side of the leaks is absolutely popping off.

To summarize, there are roughly four separate leaks right now:

-The most credible is the AA1-3 & Dai Gyakuten Saiban/Great Ace Attorney 1 & 2 collection. This one has been a big, big focus of the leaks, and boils down to an all-in-one collection of those games on PS4 and Switch for $40, and more notably, that it's getting localized. There are a lot of screens emerging for this one, including English text and boxart for these versions.

-The other, but less credible, rumor is for Ace Attorney 7 being real and in development.

-Apparently an AA4/5/6 collection is being considered along the lines of the 1/2/3 ports.

-And lastly, apparently the AA anime is coming to a few services, including Netflix.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I've seen a lot of assets for the AA collection thing in particular, and I'm starting to buy into it. I honestly never thought we'd get DGS and I don't have a good way to play the fan translation, so this is really really hype if it's true. I'm really hoping that the AA7 stuff is real too.

It's just the idea of getting a second degree or master's or something and being that much further away from a career and making good money. I'd really, really like to just find a good job now and not worry about it.

I made the dumbass mistake of majoring in English, though. I've always enjoyed writing, and I thought I could find a solid job in either journalism or something like copywriting. I've had no luck getting my foot in the door beyond low paying freelance work, though, and it's setting in that my degree is utterly valueless. I feel like I'm not going to have any luck without just going back and switching tracks entirely, at this point.

I'm unemployed after losing my job due to COVID, I can't seem to find anything else, I'm realizing that my degree is goddamn useless after I naively thought it had some value, I feel like I'm already too old to go back to school to get something better, I'm single, my health isn't great but I can't afford to go to the doctor, and I've had issues with anxiety and depression for most of my life.

I'm absolutely nowhere near happy. It seems very unlikely that I ever will be.

It's a bit older, but I'll put in a vote for Harper's Island.

I'm not even sure if I'd qualify it as a great show, but it's basically a slasher in the form of a TV show, with a big cast that gets gradually killed off in fun ways, with a pretty okay central mystery.

It's just a really fun ride. Maybe not precisely what you're looking for, but it's an enjoyable show.

He's been handed everything for his entire life and has been surrounded by yes men since he was a child. He was raised to believe that he could never lose and could do no wrong.

Any time he's ever lost at anything, which had happened a lot, he's immediately claimed that he was cheated or that whatever he lost at was rigged.

He's utterly incapable of accepting that he actually lost in a fair race. He'll never accept that he lost, and he'll call it rigged until the day he dies.

It would be almost sad if he wasn't such a total asshole.

Honestly, most of the controversy here is more about how it just straight-up doesn't look like Lucina. Like this isn't even supposed to be a young alt, it's supposed to be an art 'upgrade' that's only on a paid service.



This is the original art. The new art barely even resembles her, especially for a paid upgrade. Her fans are pretty pissed about that, and rightfully so.
