Carol is definitely not a Mary Sue in this one.

I thought it was good. Its not the best movie Marvel has done but it certainly didnt deserve the hate it got.

I know right. Like that lady who plays Captain Marvel gets so much hate it is crazy. Like one time she said every movie isnt made for old white guys. And people have been mad at her ever since. And that just happen to be the same people who would be mad at a black woman and Muslim girl for existing. I have asked some of these people point blank what is bad about movie so few of them can explain it without sounded like the a bigot.

Yeah, the MCU has been running on fumes after No Way Home in my opinion but The Marvels is actually decent. If you dont like it and the newer MCU movies in general then I totally understand but it you only bash The Marvels then your true colours are showing.

i liked everyone except monica rambo. useless character

I saw it at the cinema and ended up enjoying it quite a bit. Not one of Marvels best, but certainly not the worse either.

The funny thing is that Monica Rambeau was Marvels second Captain Marvel.

It was fine. I just wish it had a villain.

Its fine, it just got the beating at the box office that quantumania deserved....though quantumania lucked out by not having to launch after quantumania

The real issue is that Captain Marvel in the MCU doesn't look like this:

Instead of a busty blonde in a hot outfit, they gave us a flat blonde (with a shitty haircut) in a boring outfit. Brie Larson looks like a cosplayer, not a superhero.

Oh, and I found it kind of lame how they shoehorned in a flashback movie after a big disaster with her being "the only hope" or whatever. I would have liked the character more if she was inserted into the franchise better, not just "oh yeah by the way this super amazing person also exists it's just no one has ever heard of her." Like it feels so obvious that they planned out the MCU with out her and then decided last minute to add her character.

I thought the movie was overall fine, but felt like it had issues. The plot was a little weak and the villain is easily one of the most forgettable in the entire MCU, but the core cast had incredible chemistry with each other and were a delight to watch. A lot of fun action scenes and genuine laughs, too.

Although can we all admit that the "Goose's babies" subplot was nothing but the definition of filler in a movie that was already below the average MCU runtime? They were literally the reason for AND solution to the evacuation of the Saber satellite, and said evacuation had absolutely no impact on the plot. Really didn't need to pull away from what existed of the main storyline for it imo

Well that is what happen in real life. Out of the blue she went from being Strong to be seen as one of the Heavy Hitters. I still think it should have been Monica or Storm. But I will let that go. And if I can let Monica and Storm being passed over. So can the people who want more boob?

Some of it was fun, other parts were boring. Definitely on the lower end of Marvel movies, but nowhere near as bad as the worst ones.

I thought it was great.

I had a blast. So undeserving of the insane amount of hate it got.

It was solid. Nothing super special, but competently made and the chemistry between the main cast was really good.

It probably did suffer for Ant-Man 3's mistakes.

Just finished watching it, and yeah, it's pretty solid. Not one of the best MCU movies, but still fun, and better than most of the slop that they've been churning out recently. I'd say it's a solid B-.

Seems they addressed the "Brie Larson is too emotionless" critique the first movie had by giving her a wider ranger of emotions and reactions to things, which was nice. She was fun to watch in this. And Kamala's actor looked like she was having the time of her life.

Can't for the life of me remember the villain's name, but her motivation wasn't...awful. I couldn't really follow her plan, or how the bangles and jump-point stuff worked at times, but it is what it is. The fight scenes were really creative.

Not only is this really misogynistic and a weird way to view a character, but it's also just flat out wrong. Brie Larson isn't flat, and she looked great in this movie with that hair style.

It was great, but it also felt like they left half the movie on the cutting room floor. They really shouldn't have.

The funny thing is that Monica Rambeau was Marvels second Captain Marvel.

I remember she and Carol underwent multiple name changes.

Captain Marvel -> Photon -> Pulsar -> Monica Rambeau -> Spectrum -> Photon.

Miss Marvel -> Carol Danvers -> Binary -> Warbird -> Miss Marvel -> Captain Marvel.

Aside from them and the original, there were other Captain Marvels.

The movie was pretty awful I felt. Definitely not a great movie.

Nick Fury subplot was filler, the villain's whole motivation is shown in a quick flashblack, and Monica's character is a total bore.
