There are more benefits to learning and knowing a language than daily utility

It depends entirely on where you live, who you interact with, and what media you consume. If you learn French, live in the middle of nowhere in the US, never plan on traveling to France, know no French people, and consume no French media, then you'll never use it.

I'm sure there are people who fit these but I'll never get people who are content with not travelling

I know engineers and lawyers who only speak one language and idiots who speak 2. Pretty sure most people could learn a second language, they just don't bother, unlike people who are forced to learn English (which is super similar to their first language and not too hard of an accomplishment) to play video games or post on forums or something then subsequently act elitist about it.

That's an interesting way take it on. She's generally been too busy this semester to really see me. She had to take a few semesters off so her work load is immense this semester.. for additional information though she doesn't have that much friends. I'd say I'm the only guy friend whom she could talk to on a deeper level, more than anyone else save some friends from church, maybe. We've known each other for a year and we've been on plenty of 'date' things. I just don't know if it's a timing problem or that she doesn't and can't see me as an object of affection. Your words do hit me a little though, but I don't think it's necessarily the case. Thanks for the tough words though.
