Yes, as in Blazing Blade as the localization is named. I wanted to try a mounted unit only run, it was fun. I'll keep messing with these sorts of challenge runs for the games I've beaten, and then at some point try to beat the games I've played but haven't beaten. But those won't be posted this year.

Batman Arkham City (PC)

Continued my free Epic games with pushing to beat the second game, forgot to post this a few days ago when I actually beat it. It was nice to move around the city, but I was a little saddened at not really more of the stealth room encounters. Some pretty good boss fights and the additional equipment was good, plus it was nice to add more characters into the mix, both playable through campaign and out of it, and just enemies.

Lena comes as a damsel that gets Julian and Navarre to join your team. It's not that great, but that's the extent of her personality since Shadow Dragon doesn't have much to it and she gets recruited in the very last chapter of Book 2. That said, as a unit... there's enough above saying her utility. Literally she ranks a 9 because I don't use Hammerne enough, but I recognize how great it is.

As for Colm, he gets three points as a Thief for... being the Thief for the first half of the game. He definitely gets to steal some useful things, but he doesn't have nearly the same utility that other thieves in the series have. Also, it's debatable typically in other games who's better between the thieves, but Colm is easily outclassed by Rennac or if he goes Assassin route he has Joshua/Marisa to contend with. And as a character, he has about the same level of personality as Chad. Very massive downgrade from the FE7 thieves.

Lethe I never used since she was kind of bitchy, but even without supports you gain some justification for her moodiness, maybe some day I'll use her. Of course, again didn't play the 3DS games but I at least know enough about Tharja to say she's rotten to the core and has pretty much the worst personality of any playable character in the series.

Wow ouch at most votes here. Henry/Xander exposure is a little low for me to go into what they're like in personality, and Ayra's just a no for me to talk about. Then Sue is just someone I actually haven't really ever used due to wishes to go through Ilia my first time going through FE6 and I've yet to go that far into FE6.

So all I can talk about is Ross. And, his personality after a few times through is just a kid who wants to fight and respects his dad. Nothing that special. His unit is pretty good, being the only playable character that can access the Pirate unit he occupies his own niche like Hb was mentioning. He'll be that class before you get Dozla and typically will out scale that Berserker. Hero/Warrior there are better and his Journeyman 3 is just not worth losing what you can get out of the Pirate line.

I fully understand that, but I was always more of the shy girl fan, so first FE girl that caught my eye there. I definitely have shied away from crippling shyness like hers though. Though funnily enough my favorite female from the GBA games is definitely not shy.

Cut Leif and Mercedes completely as I don't even have the former in Feh and I've barely used the latter to get a minor grip on her character.

Leon is the token flirt, as every FE has at least one. At least once we got down to adding full personalities through supports and the like, I don't know who's a flirt in 4/5... Granted, having trouble thinking of who it'd be in the Marth remakes too. Of course, Leon is like... the third or fourth gay flirter in the series (though if I'm counting right, the second guy who flirts with guys). At least he isn't forced to cave like Niles though. Good for him.

I also cut Micaiah's unit because I haven't actually progressed all the way through RD. Last time my friend and I were playing we were inside Part 3 I believe it was, so haven't gotten her upgraded unit. Thani was pretty cool and it was great to have a mage Lord character. Just to say, I do know she wasn't the first but I hadn't even tried Gaiden at the time. She personally is pretty nice, just straight up a better Eliwood in some cases, at least in Part 1.

Now Florina. There was a time when Florina was my favorite character and you'd understand based on my personality. I loved her as a unit and just her shyness. Then it fell off as I found other favorites. Both liking better Pegasus Knights, and liking other female units more. Hell, she's not even my favorite Pegasus Knight in FE7 nowadays. Oh, but it can't be stressed enough that Florina's strengths as a unit comes from having Lyn Mode. Can over-level her there and then her mobility is top notch.

My favorite "independent" one is probably Hotarubi no Mori e (Into the Forest of Fireflies' Light) - not sure you've done that one on a list. The others I'm into have all been series stuff, like Mardock Scramble or Heaven's Feel or Nanoha or Sengoku Basara or whatever. Oh right, also Garden of Words, which is my favorite or second favorite thing from Makoto Shinkai (Voices of a Distant Star is also fantastic).

All the non-series ones you mentioned were on our first anime list. It's been quite a while since it though.

Removed the unit side of the people from games I didn't play since if I took their Heroes units into play, I definitely screwed up on Lyn (as long as I only count her base unit) seeing as how she's just disappointing in it.

For those with removed units, I'll mention the character side. What I know of Sigurd is little, but from what I've heard he seems great. Cordelia and Peri I can make more of a note of. Both have awful gimmicks. One is strictly obsessed with a character and neglects both the character that marries her and her daughter because she can't romance a character she wanted to. And to be flat out honest, she'd probably stalk Chrom if we didn't have Tharja to ensure that'd duplicate personalities. Peri's voice makes me shudder and she's basically medieval Harley Quinn, except without any of the humor.

Now Roy. Binding Blade is rough on him. The writing is still trying to get there, so most characters are very dull in general, and as a unit... God he's awful as a unit. He's basically his dad in a game where RNG is worse, his stats are worse, and him not getting a horse or lances cuts versatility in half. Well, at least his Legendary Sword actually helps him. As for Joshua, I said it yesterday in a slightly obscure way, Myrm->SM are one of my favorite classes, and Joshua is a bit luckier in the strength department. Not the best at his class, but pretty good. His story is fun and enjoyable.

I'm gonna get a bit of backlash for being a little higher on Eli, but I do like him as a character, especially through some of his supports, and I dislike most of Lyn's supports. She comes off with the worst aspects of a swordmaster character (slight bit of arrogance and then the definite lack of understanding of noble society). Granted, her unit is still a better version of one of my favorite classes, so yeah, I tend to never miss a beat of using her regardless.

Also, Eliwood as a unit has gotten Def blessed all too often for me, I've seen him at a point where Hector had like 3 levels on Eli but Eli had more defense. Weirdest shit ever. Of course, nothing needs to be said about Hector, people that like him know exactly what there is to like about him. People that don't, simply don't appreciate that kind of character and that's fine.

This is definitely not the case. Zin got confused and literally spent two turns running across the map to attack Estelle (he was next to the Penguin Boss on turn 1). Still literally a status effect worse than KO.

Either way, I'll leave a save here and just step on out, I'm sure there's some missing stuff, but I think it'd be better to not search every cranny right now. Back to Grancel.

So I wonder if once all this is crap is over they'll record the actual English lines for Say'ri. It kind of makes sense in context for her being a foreigner, but also her voice actress definitely is doing stuff for Feh, including as recent as Easter. I can only assume she stayed away from recording due to everything happening.

They definitely did AoE without me even attacking some of them. Like 3 of the Earth Shaker attacks were from guys with full HP. So it wasn't the case.

At least it's not me just being bad, but being new that gives me trouble with those things. Although I do need to figure out how to give myself Earth Wall. Maybe once I'm buying Quartz in Grancel. That'll be good for when I have to fight more AoE/Party-wide attacks.

Also, everytime I watch cutscene battles it makes me wish for more out of real battles. The biggest weakness of this game's combat to me is the game is just JRPG combat on a tactical field, and it makes me wish it worked more like an TRPG where you could freely move as a free action before your attack, like some opponents (Karna and Kyle in particular) have done. I'm always wishing for more of that.

But as for actual plot happening, Amalthea sighting, and she wants to break Alan Richard out of Leiston. Wouldn't be the first prison break from the fortress, ahaha~. Considering the former Colonel's change in personality from the end of the first game, I doubt this will go the way she wants it to.

Ugh, the Worm fight was irritating. Had to use like half of my reviving balms thanks to not having a great ability to slow them down, and having 5 enemies be able to target everyone. Even literally had them having 4 turns in a row of using it to just KO two characters before having a chance to heal.

Of course, I've met the second Ouroboros dude and through it we get to learn about what Zin and Kilika's connection is other than just both being Easterners. But parts of it are cut off. Although I can only assume Walter is not Eastern by descent, or maybe half-Eastern at most. At least I finally finished Zeiss. Actual progress unlike this past week, we're truly back online.

I think it has to be Big the Cat for me. He's the only one I really try to progress past just his normal voice lines. There's definitely a lot of stuff I'll quote repeatedly past that, trying to imitate the voices. i.e. ME random battle lines and some specific SF64 characters (some have said my Leon can be incredibly good). I'm sure there's more, I just can't think of them atm.

I've only ever seen them attack allies, even when an enemy is literally closer, they've walked over to an ally to attack them. At least in the first game, so I've avoided letting it be tried again.

I never actually saw her say that to him. I saw the scene, and obviously there's her comment to herself when she stops and is just like 'ugh, what a creep, keeps staring at me.' basically.

As for today, decided to stop by to say hi to Faye and automatically finished the search quest. Was a bit odd since I figured the answer was inside Kaldia Tunnel. Ah well.

And travelling through the tunnel, came across a pretty rough treasure chest battle. I said it in the first game, and I'll say it here. Confuse is literally worse than KO and it's stupid. I basically never fought Stove Plants here because of how stupid the status effect is. Confuse should be being unable to differentiate friend from foe, not literally see enemies as friends and friends as foes.

Escort Request. I knew I recognized his name. Found the answer. Also found the Three Brothers thing NFUN shared. I checked the first part just to see if I'd need it, I definitely had my issues, but I just looked for things of 3 and found it.

This last one's a bit odd though, I won't ask for a hint obviously since I haven't even started looking, but now I have two locations to set out to for next time. And both have monsters, so maybe I'll fight those in the process.
