aka, Portal 2 has been beaten. Total time was 12 hours, but I had at least an hour of afk thanks to playing before dinner a few times. Still went and played only it because I watched all of Portal 1. Definitely a great game, a lot later on had me stumped for a while. Good to have it done and with the number of achievements I left behind... definitely something to return to maybe a few times. Obviously will wait a long while till the puzzles are out of my system and play the first game first at that time.

The first Portal game is neither expensive nor long, just play it! Its worth it! Tbh it was a more purely brilliant game than the second imo.

I hadn't, but watched an LP like I said, then turned on Steam the next day to see Metal bought it for me (due to the 2nd being my birthday). I'll go back after it since I am enjoying the series.

That said, I'm in the middle of Chapter 6 now.

I liked Elize a little, but ultimately everyone I like less than her (outside... actually not liking Millia like xp though I don't really agree that she drags Jude down with her) is eliminated, so... guess I can't complain.

Well, technically I also don't really like Zelos but he's still a funny character in some of his antics. Unlike... Well. Teepo.

I actually like quite a few of them, especially Olivert. The problem is they seem to come and go a lot so it's hard to get attached. Maybe that changes later on in the game? I do love the music too and the series formula (I loved Cold Steel, after all)

One of the main things, is if you want to try being attached despite their limited involvement, is to remember that their first appearances are tidbits of their character. You will get more of them throughout the series, and I don't even think I'm spoiling by saying that.

At this point... Banjo Kazooie. A game I really have wanted to go back to, but I can only hope Microsoft and Nintendo can come to an agreement with what to do with Rare. I haven't played it since my brother traded the game since it was his system. I couldn't really beat it anyway back then and enjoyed other things more, so it wasn't the biggest consequence until far later in life for me, when I realized how much I wanted to play and beat the game.

Scrolled through my Steam list, since it had to be something someone bought for me, and Divinity 2 sticks out. It's something I was playing with Scarlet and Ermine (latter of which bought it for me) and my internet would crap out so much we had to quit. It's been updated, which is something we waited on, and ultimately at this point the only thing we're waiting on is me to have my own internet, since I'd pay for something better. Which takes a while since I need to be working but I keep being lazy... So yeah, being ashamed the most about this definitely fits the bill.

That question happened to appear on the third game of this list I've beaten, Final Fantasy. The only main series Final Fantasy I've beaten (and I've started... 6 more of them). I have it through the GBA collection, and just chose to plow through it. Maybe it was easier for me since the other game I played at the time wasn't great narratively or beaten. Hell, still haven't finished FFTA, maybe I should try to do that. Sometimes playing through something with someone else can help, so if you need me, as it could push me through a few games too, maybe I can help... ahaha~

So I actually just remembered a new version of my answer for this one. And it made me finally remember to check out this topic again. Sorry that I didn't stick around, and you've even gotten to a few games I have beaten/played, and even some things I'd list myself (like ToS).

But yeah, the biggest case of this, is also my dumbest entry. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon.

I could never beat the first boss because it was my first Castlevania and I basically thought I had to save the throwable items more. Could never beat the wolf just using the whip. Now I'm just waiting for my chance to nominate it for GotM to push me after beating it.

I started up FC again and made it maybe halfway through but for some reason I just can't get into it. I think I'm just not a big fan of Estelle and Joshua.

I, too, don't like Estelle or Joshua after finishing the first game. Joshua for pretty major different reasons. Are you also not liking any of the side cast? They, and the music are pretty much the reasons I was able to push through the game. Plus like, a lot of the fun little things like talking to chests after opening them. Funny little things this series does right.

Yes, I don't even know how many things I've done that with though. Pretty sure I bought Neptunia Re;Birth 2 while playing the first, and got 3 before I finished 2 (though after I finished 1, so not really game(s). Also Saints Row stuff, I own 2-4, never played the first, and haven't beaten 2 or 3 (but have played). I need to beat 3.

As someone who typically doesn't have the money to buy games as they come out... I definitely play games far later than I intended to. Though I don't know if I have a specific example of this as I'm not sure of some time frames. I don't remember when I got to Radiant Dawn after playing Path of Radiance, for example. That could have been a difference of 7 or 8 years. Well, ask me when I get to play Link Between Worlds, we'll see if that's been waiting 10+ years, ahaha~

Is what I refer to as my own flaws. (Not snarky bluntness, but just the similar way how I can just drive onto a rant about what I'm serious about).

Says a lot immediately on how I view Genis. And honestly... Genis completely agreeing with Mithos is literally him lacking the judgment that his sister raised him through all that prejudice herself, therefore would have far better judgment of the prejudice than Genis would.

Miibo definitely didn't deserve to be this low. But I also agree that past him becoming a sublord he's nothing more than something Edna steps on. Probably it's because all he can really do past that point is follow in Sorey's beliefs, since he's trying to suspend his own disbelief and believe in Sorey's ideals.

So when I said I basically put myself in a position of having literally no expectations from Zestiria's story? Sorey is why. I haven't played many Tales of games, I own Symphonia/Zestiria/Berseria. Played all the way up to Kratos fight in the first (btw, I mean like... basically end game Kratos, not the first real fight of the game), then ended up lost, made it to the halfway point of Zestiria then I believe found a GotM game I wanted to play and uninstalled it, and then haven't started Berseria since I wanted to finish ToZ first.

But yeah, the two games I played contain naive characters. First, is Colette. She has a primary role, but also takes a back seat in a lot of convos because her naivete makes her nervous to take a front roll. Then we have Sorey... who shows us through the story how much of an ignorant fuck he is. Like, he literally has to be told when to do something and when to not do something the entire game. Maybe that's why Rose is not admonished for being a murderer, because unlike Sorey... She at least is capable of making decisions on her own (other than THIS IS A COOL ROCK, I MUST INVESTIGATE THE COOL ROCK).

I think by the point of Rose joining in Zestiria I basically had already suspended disbelief in the story of Zestiria. So I never really saw her as a problem and, like Mana, just enjoyed her in combat.

Now that I've read this topic though? Ouch. Seems I finally will gain an opinion on the girl who had a cringe scene shortly before becoming a party member.

Yes, but to be honest... I don't have an example currently. Maybe Tales of Symphonia the original time I was playing it. Err, second time since first time it was being rented. Second time is where I came close to the end of the game and then just... stopped. Tried to pick it up again but was lost.

I wondered about that, which is also why I went and included Snake. I really can't think of anyone with a game I've played but haven't beaten. At least with only thinking of like primary protagonists. Otherwise I have to take side characters and attempt to dive into exactly who's my favorite and... bleh.

Hm... It feels sad that I have to say this, but from my experience... Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Like no offense to Scar (who bought it for me), or anyone that likes it. It's not a bad game. It's just it's the only game purchased for me that I really have a giant complaint about. To explain: I heavily enjoyed badass ranks in the second game, and I like collecting them all, so having some of those ranks be single player receiving things and once per campaign chances... it sucks.

The most thorough I've been in a series in LoZ, which means I just name Spirit Tracks. There's a couple games I hate for alternate reasons. But nothing beats forcing the DS's awful mic system onto the musical instrument.

Anything I got from a b8er. Which probably means Trails, Undertale, FFX (potentially later FFs in general)... Dunno what else comes to mind.

In some sense, I got them because I had them on my wishlist through a secret santa, which they were on my wishlist because of B8 mostly. FFX was more a case of realizing I probably just should put FFs on there.

It's just a little unfair to someone who can't really go to a movie theatre that easily to watch a movie that's in one currently. It's not my fault you've never seen any others. I haven't seen any myself and it's possible I watch 39 movies and then be unable to submit just because the other movie would require super illegal viewing processes.

EDIT: Yes I am saying that as the person who literally did that in the previous anime project. Granted I did take a copy of the movie and skimmed it and then submitted like a bitch.

This was something where I'm like Inviso where the movie just... made me uncomfortable. And part because... Well... I just sat there having to wonder if Bjork's character was meant to feel like she's completely autistic (which I do want to make note, this isn't a bad thing). It felt more uncomfortable thinking that about her, and checking the wiki on the movie to see there's nothing that tells you that. Plus just following around in someone's life that you think has a learning disability is awkward.

Granted, again, this was the movie I got some failure of a version of that cut out literally as the train was passing by during "I've Seen it All" so for all I know, I missed the best part in just the rest of her performance as the movie progressed further down her life breaking down. I mean... it's not like I fully hate every bad ending movie.
