That's actually a really interesting channel. He did one on the Tower of Joy fight scene, and apparently he didn't have a problem with the dual wielding bit, which I remember a lot of people complaining about. Still other issues in that fight, but I'm liking these videos.

I started Viltron: Legendary Defender this week, and it's been pretty good.

I'm just enjoying the Saturday morning cartoon vibe of the show, and the fun they are having with the series.

I miss Saturday morning cartoons.

Cartoon Network during the day time isn't gettibg it done. It feels like 12 hours of Teen Titans Go. Which is fine for a few minutes, but not al day.

I guess I'm just old. Anyone else miss Saturday morning cartoons?

I love that the new Voltron series takes something of a fresh take on the original while still being true to the source material. Although I haven't finished season 3 yet, I've been quite happy with what I've seen up to now.

From what I understand from people in the engineering community (which most of you aren't part of, let's be real), the issue with what the dude said is that he basically created a hostile work environment, and anybody who would be in charge of assigning him would now have difficulty with doing just that. Keep in mind also that he was a fairly low-ranking engineer, so he was never really calling the shots in the first place. You can say whatever you want in private but he put it up as an internal company memo.

if an engineer's job in the first place is to take a look at a problem and find a solution, how is an examination of said problem "creating a hostile work environment" in the first place? if i find a bug in someone's code and edit that to make the code work, did i "create a hostile work environment" and devalue the engineer that wrote bad code's worth as a person? no i was just doing my job. why then do we take interpersonal issues and put so much more weight upon them that anyone that doesn't regurgitate HR's buzzwords by rote is to be shouted down, re-educated, or just plain run out of town on a rail? if anything, this kind of batshit lunacy seems more counter-productive than not. i don't ask a car engine how its feeling when it needs an oil change.

Too lazy to try and untangle the SMB 2 discussion via quotes on mobile, but you're also forgetting that SMB 2 was already a reskin of a game called Doki Doki Panic. It's sort of a side story that was adopted into the Mario lore in a dream, which raises many questions about how enemies like Birdo and Shyguy show up in nearly every title since. The actual SMB2 was what was released in the west as "The Lost Levels" and was deemed too hard for Western audiences.

Now for SMB 3. Judging any retro title through the lens of modern gaming is extremely unfair, just as it is for television shows and movies. SMB3 was a product of it's time and the limitations of it's hardware and was remarkable for it's time, and as a platformer I still feel it holds up quite well. So does SMW in fact.if anything, I'd say those two games alone have withstood the test of time better than any remake or remaster of something like SM64 ever will.

A large part of the point that fired Google engineer was making is how you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. You can keep shouting buzzwords like "diversity" from the rooftops as loudly as you like and stifle any reasonable discussion on the issue, but it doesn't change the fact that "patriarchy" isn't the main or only issue there at all.

The one problem with Jaime being "missing" is he's going to be yanked from the water within a mile of the castle so he shan't be missing for long. I still think the show will end with everyone dying and the Night King taking over. It doesn't get talked about a lot but this scene from season 3 I think foreshadows the true ending.

People expecting a happy ending from this show are setting themselves up for a disappointment imo.

It was badass, but it was obviously impractical. Arya is 5'0 and 90lbs on a good day, and is wielding basically Baby's First Rapier. Brienne is like 6'0 and has a giant broadsword. To their credit, I did recall a few shots of Arya basically glancing her sword off of Brienne's simply to close the gap (I'll have to re-watch), but there were a few where she straight-up block Brienne full-on, which is quite impossible. You don't need to use a large sword to parry one if the angles are in your favor. It's exactly Arya's small size that basically allows her to flip Brienne's giant blade aside and bounce right off of it to close the gap. Arya is trained as an assassin. Why attack a tank with another tank when running up on it and tossing a grenade in the hatch is just as effective?

If this were Soul Calibur, Ayra would be Talim whereas Brienne would be Knightmare. If this were Smash, Ayra would be like Link or ZSS and an opponent like Brienne would be Ganondorf. Brienne is a bruiser, whereas Ayra is a finesse Scrappy who's only goal is to get inside your guard to put Needle thru your neck or eye socket.

If we're being honest, things are not looking good for Cersei right now since her leadership style doesn't exactly inspire loyalty when times get tough. Plus, I wouldn't forget that Cersei is still on Arya's list...
