yeah a good friend from high school committed suicide a year after we all graduated during freshman year of college. no one knows why he did it. he was a good dude and seemed like things were together for him.

Wasn't close friends with them but knew them by name.

One by heroin overdose at 19.
The other disappeared at 22. The rumor was that he hustled the wrong people in a pool game.

Two people I've known since sixth grade died in their early twenties, in unrelated accidents. I wasn't super close friends with one of them, but he was definitely a good guy. But the other one I actually didn't get along with at all. Still a shame, and I wouldn't have wished it on him.

Several classmates in high school or shortly after, I wasn't friends with them but it still sucked. Worst would probably have to be my one cousin, he was 32 iirc, he had a brain hemhorage I think. The sad thing is that he went to the hospital the previous night fir help and was in the waiting room for like 5 hours, he was going to be late for work so he left and ended up dying after he got home.

Yeah, 5 of them under 25 years old.

None of my friends, but I've had a few people I went to school with/met in my spare time pass away.

One had cancer, one killed herself, one died in a motorcycle accident, one was murdered a month ago, and the most notable of all was a triple murder suicide in 2011 where I knew all three of the murder victims as well as they guy who did it and killed himself. Only person in that I didn't know was the girl who survived.

Also, when I was in the 8th grade, a girl in my class was run over by a bus. That was pretty tragic.

I think I've been pretty sheltered from death so far. My grandparents died, but I never really knew them. A couple uncles have now died, but I only knew them a tiny bit as a kid. That's basically it for people I've known who've died (and that I've heard about).

Yes. A neighbor who was the same age as me who I went to school with became involved with gangs and was shot to death when I was in high school.

Another kid on the next block who I played sports with among other friends of mine died in a motorcycle accident about 10 years ago.

One of my good friends from High School died at 29 in a car accident. He was coming back from the bar so people originally thought drunk driving, but according to toxicological reports he was actually sober. Therefore they assumed he fell asleep at the wheel since the accident was at 4 in the morning.

Knew a girl (we fooled around a bit, nothing serious) who died at 25. She apparently exercised herself to death. One of her last Facebook posts was bragging that she managed to burn 2000 calories on the treadmill in one day. She was supposedly doing that almost every day while being anorexic.

One of my LAN buddies drown in a riptide. He was in his 40's though.

That's not to say I don't know anyone who died young. Probably most adults have. Not friends, though. They've gotten by unscathed.

In high school had a classmate and friend that drowned at a popular jumping rock. Never got any details other than a possible cramp. Probably dove and hit his head. Also had a star football player who was shot and killed by his cousin while hunting.

I've probably been to about 15-20 funerals and I still have yet to lose someone unbelievably close. Friends and family of course have been buried, but mostly people that I didn't see often, or happened to just have a few classes with back in the day. By the time they passed, it was more like losing an acquaintance.

Friend of mine was hit by a car in late 2015 and passed away in the hospital. (Was totally the driver's fault, btw.)

Yeah, I guess I know people that died young, I just wasn't their friend. Some car load of girls, one I went to elementary school with, thought it was fun to blast down a back road and crash. At least the one I knew died, I can't recall if anyone else did.

Because of that, they made restrictions on new drivers with a passenger limit. Thanks for doing something stupid that affected everyone...

Unfortunately I was in an infantry unit in the Marines. Some of my closest friends died young.

Shit! I had really bad asthma as a kid. I never really thought about death, but it gave me a more reactive fight or flight response from almost dying a few times. It was mostly the fault of doctors basically having no idea how to treat it until I moved somewhere else. It got better naturally as I aged too, to the point it stopped being an issue. My condolences to a fallen asthma comrade...

A girl that I was interested in rammed her car into a telephone pole. It was an obvious suicide. She was 17, I think.

I guess it also depends on what you consider young. An uncle of mine died in his thirties.
I think anybody who dies before they reach 50 has died young.
