Illustrated KH2 Kairi (150% Guilt)

HD Aqua (100% Guilt, Attack Boost 3 Max)

iKairi2's animation does take a really long time, maybe I don't need it in this case...

I have a maxed out 150% guilted KDG that one shots any single enemy I've ever used it on. So I just used that on the group and ran straight to the end. It did take me like 8 tries though. I had to be flawless.

One of my party members has a 150% guilted one with Triple Threat and Extra Attack. Very useful for missions where you're almost guaranteed to be killed if your enemies aren't asleep/paralyzed at the end of your turn. (I have my own 150% guilt that makes its way at the beginning of most of my keyblades, with Second Chance for further chances at surviving those scenarios.)

Yeah you're way past me in power lol. What is triple threat though?

Dunno who he is or why you would watch a 2 hour review but I wish it had unarmed combat as well. Even if it was just a joke and you did 1 damage. It'd be fun to dick around or try to beat the game barehanded. It wouldn't be hard to keep it balanced I wouldn't think.

Me either. It would have been a really simple thing to have. But also, I feel like they handled that game strangely. It had a lot of potential for continuous updates and new parts to use, and everyone kept thinking they were going to add in the ability to make slanted surfaces and some other basic Mario things that were missing, but it never happened. Then they dropped support. Then a while later they announced the 3DS version and it had nothing new, took out the costumes, and didnt allow created levels to be shared online. Idk, I hope they make a sequel with tons more to use, new game skins like the Mario All Stars updated visuals, multiplayer, and more.

Man... 2015 sucked... I think I bought at most 5 games that year? And I only played a couple hours of each except for one. And that is Splatoon. GotY for me no contest whatsoever. I guess all I played all year was Splatoon and LoL with a tiny sprinkle of Mario Maker. It's weird seeing how high everyone else ranks it lol. I just wasn't really into anything else that came out.

Five Nights at Freddys' success boils down to:

1. At the time, the original game was a very unique and cool idea. A horror game where you can't move at all and failure to keep yourself safe leads to an immediate and jarring jump scare - it's actually a pretty innovative idea (that has since been lost due to 4 sequels in 1-2 years). It was also easily accessible as it emphasized overall situational awareness over precise motor contols/reflexes. This is the reason why it was an initial success.
2. The games built up this weird narrative underneath everything that was also really only possible to understand if you paid attention to bits and pieces of dialogue and read wikis and talked to things with other people. This kind of thing works really well in the internet age. Every game revealed new details of the story to keep people talking. I only read up on all this after the fact but overall it seems like people were really entertainted by the narrative and satisfied with where it ended up.
3. Pretty much every character is ridiculously easy to market and sell as collectible toys and shit. This means a lot when a lot of the audience isn't actually playing the games! Those things sold like crazy.

Youtube is obviously the #1 main reason overall but lots of games get youtube-popular and don't have the weirdly enduring popularity of FNAF so there's definitely other stuff going on there.

The story and theories surrounding it are the biggest draw and what keeps it going I think. The creator is an evil asshole genius lol

So I know it's your topic and your opinions, but I thought the notable/big games of that year lost was supposed to be a bit more objective, and I've notices you leaving off some games of note while including random indie games, some I've never even heard of...? Like LittleBigPlanet 2 wasn't on the notable games list and I know you said you really disliked those games earlier, but that's still a really big game for Sony. Just something I've noticed a pattern of, no offense intended though!

On the subject of 2011 itself, I honestly don't think the year was that strong. Especially not 5th place strong. Just because of Skyrim? I never understood the hype for that game and still don't. I've played a little bit of it here and there and it's just so boring to me, and it has some of the worst combat and gameplay I've ever played for a supposed AAA best game ever type of game.

TWEWY is excellent. One of, if not the best DS game ever.

Also going back to 2002, my GotY and maybe GoaT is Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 for the GCN. I've put more hours into that game than any other by a huge margin. I played both online and offline.

I've also tried that method and it works maybe 50% of the time for me. Farming star fragments is the worst thing in the game IMO.

I honestly never noticed that dungeons even had music?

Also, as far as dungeon bosses go, Gerudo's was so shocking(heh) after the joke that was the other three. I did it last and walked in there expecting to kick it's ass because I was extremely Overpowered by that point, but it kicked my ass until I remembered the rubber armor set bonus lol. It was easily the hardest boss in the game, but it kinda made me sad realizing the untapped potential of the other bosses.

The intro to KH1 isn't that bad. I started it up last night and got to Traverse Town in like 25 to 30 min.

Tons of cutscenes surrounded by bad fetch quests, awkward controls, button mashing combat, and incomprehensible story. Then you get to a new area, and follow more a random search with no instructions or directions, and a boss fight that's excessively difficult while giving you no tools to fight it other than a basic attack.

No wonder I didn't like it before :/

Sounds like maybe you need an easier difficulty?

Welp. I beated the game. End was good, no follow up to anything but I guess it isn't too surprising given how the game is. Calamity Gannon was fugly holy s***. I've got mixed feelinf about his design... Like I get the sheikah stuff but at the same time I don't. I still don't understand why he was able to take over and manipulate sheikah tech, as it was never given any kinda explanation. Oh, and the fight was piss easy, unfortunately. Dark beast fight was just ok but he looked cool at least. Amazing game overall. 10/10 for me. Probably one of my top 3 games of all time now.

^ I've considered it. Idk if I wanna do it immediately though.

Got the TotW fully upgraded! Time to head to Ganon! I have mixed emotions about finally being at the end. Like I think I'm ready but at the same time I'm kinda sad it'll be over. I probably won't play anymore after I beat it. 155+ hours is pretty damn good and I have so many other games to get to.
