No offense but this isn't so much Hillary's fault as it is the whining manchildren that couldn't get past the fact that Bernie didn't have the nomination.

I think that if you lose a state in the primary, (despite what the polling might have suggested) and then don't bother to campaign there afterward...then maybe it might be a little bit your fault?

She definitely is trying to position herself in that way.

Sanders definitely did get screwed by the DNC, though I have a hard time believing he would've won even without such issues. It's pretty clear that Hillary received preferential treatment and presentation, and the fact that there were only 6 debates for the DNC primary compared to the 25 in 2008 really hints toward the idea of there being a de facto candidate before it's even been decided.

I mean, advertising isn't solely based off clicks. Just keeping the product/service fresh in the consumer's mind is still a benefit, even if your click-through rate is low.

Also advertisements on sites are generally extremely cheap, given that they're priced per 1000 ads.

Decided to get an AirBNB while staying in New York. The host tells me that she'll be flying to Tanzania the day I arrive. But she tells me the cafe where I can pick it up and says it'll be open until 1 AM. She also gives me an emergency contact in case I have any trouble, telling me that this contact will have a spare key. Cool. She changes the contact the day before I arrive because the first one is unavailable. Whatever.

I land, find out the cafe actually closes earlier than she said. There's only one guy there, smoking outside and he has no idea how to get the key. He tells me to come back tomorrow morning. I text/call the emergency contact. No response.

Spent the night in a hostel. Get a call in the morning. The emergency contact guy is extremely apologetic, and he sends me money for the cost of the night at the AirBNB and the night at the hostel. That's fine, I guess. However, he informs me he does not have a spare key. Whatever, I'll get it from the cafe.

I decide to swing by the cafe in the morning. It's not open. Not only that, there's a sign saying that there will be filming happening at the cafe so it will be closed all day. God. Damn. It.

I call the contact and go to work for the day. He contacts the cafe via email. They say I can pick up the key, but they'll be closed after 7.

I get to the cafe, they (almost predictably at this point) won't let me get the key. Now I'm waiting for emergency contact dude to come over and try to sort out the situation.

I have to say that I have a hard time being outraged with how ridiculous this has all been. It's actually kind of funny at this point.

White Nose Syndrome is legitimately scary, and there's a similar rare fungus that's starting to affect humans. Tag me so I remember to pull it from my notes tomorrow.

If a random microbe pops up and kills/infects most of a population out of nowhere, decent odds are it leaked out from a lab and got into our environment. Which sounds silly, but humans have done such things by accident before. Lyme's Disease is completely manufactured, and just randomly found its way into ticks on Plum Island. We have genetic engineers messing around with things they shouldn't be messing around with.

There's a big difference between drinking for taste and drinking to get drunk. A lot of people get exposed to cheap, awful alcohol, but that's not representative of the whole. And there are some amazing cocktails, especially nowadays as cocktails have begun to get more popular.

Have been planning a trip to Korea with my mom who hasn't been back to her home country in over 20 years. She was initially really excited about it, but now she's worried that either Trump's going to start some shit with North Korea or something stupid like the travel ban that affected green card holders will prevent her from re-entry.

While I doubt she has anything to worry about (no way South Korea will be added to any travel ban list any time soon), having to convince her it's going to be okay has definitely made the trip planning a much less fun experience.

in a conversation, phone calls allow you to transmit additional information through intonation. video calls allow you to transmit even more information through facial expressions and body language

in person >>> video conference > phone > text

for extremely dense information communications that don't require a lot of back and forth, email is the superior choice, because you then have a record and people won't have to re-read. for things where you just need to shoot info out, text is okay

there's a reason why it's so convenient in an office setting to be able to walk over to someone's desk

Exactly. Phone calls are also useful in discussing specifics, since you can stop the other person if there's a part that needs more clarification. With emails, I've frequently run into issues with someone being too vague or glossing over important details.

Why do you say that?

It requires both people to be free to talk at the exact same time and leaves no written record of anything important that was decided. The only advantage is that it's faster than typing, but even then only if you can actually get ahold of each other. It's even more inconvenient if the conversation involves three or more people.

It's faster than typing, more personal (I know you disagree with this), and allows you to discuss specifics a lot more easily rather than sending a ton of messages/emails back and forth.

My job would be impossible if our only way of contacting with clients/coworkers was via text/email.
