Yeah it's hard to give generalized advice for startups since they're all different.

I worked for one for about a year, and it was fine. The pay was not good and I was working as a contractor, but it was interesting and the experience helped land me a much better job.

I guess I would just say, get a sense of their funding and future plans if you can so that you're not caught off guard when they decide to close things down or "pivot".

How much like Myst is Outer Wilds? I absolutely hated Myst when I was a 13-year-old trying to figure it out.

I was never able to get into Myst. If I had to draw a comparison, Outer Wilds is more like Return of the Obra Dinn + The Witness. You're uncovering things by exploring and reading and gaining knowledge about how things work/learning about the past.

"But if we don't let Uber/Doordash/Instacart write their own rules they'll leave the state"
"But if we don't let pharma/biotech companies keep their patents they might not make vaccines for us next time"

Same shit over and over. Endless appeasement to the detriment of most people.

There's also the huge problem of "Dems want to tax you for driving"

Even if it made sense from a funding standpoint, it will be easily weaponized. I won't be surprised if we see that Pete soundbite repeated ad nauseum.

In the last 31 days I've sold $14500 worth of shoes for ~$3k profit after shipping / ebay fees etc. I basically swing by the store for 30-60 mins every 2-3 days.

Edit: Slightly misleading as the stimulus boostes sales a ton and I did increase my overall stock level. Typically I was making $1700-2000 a month from it before that point

Damn. Impressive.

The solution is apparently to elect some sleeper agent progressives who up until election just say "bleep bloop, I am a moderate and I hate Medicare for all." And then they get elected and hear the trigger word and we're golden.

I bought Bleed 2!

I was also super hyped for TF2 and pre-ordered The Orange Box so I could play in the beta. I remember spending the day waiting for the beta to unlock since I don't think there was a specific time given (or the time was wrong because Valve time)

Although I guess TF2 could have been guaranteed to succeed on the basis of being bundled with HL2 Ep 2 and Portal, but it was 10 years into development and there were a good number of vocal detractors due to its artstyle at the time.

Still need to do the DLC that unlocked after the game, but overall I really enjoyed the game.

The game did start to get a bit repetitive in terms of combat, but never to the point where I was completely sick of it. And I was surprised that I actually ended up using all of the weapon forms (aside from the one from the Investigations sector).

The inventory management was kind of ass though. Would've liked to see either more inventory slots or a different system that didn't require me to constantly break down mods. Also the map was...not the best. But I hear it was worse at launch?

Anyway all of the references to Alan Wake have me intrigued and I'm wondering if I should give it a shot. I'm really not into horror, but I hear it's not really a straight horror game. Worth a look?
