I'm on the fifth "chapter", which is after you help build Mirth. The third one felt like it kinda dragged because one of the dungeons felt longer than it needed to be.

I think my one complaint with the combat at this point is that I would like for there to be more skills.

I do think the two leads could stand to have more characterization that differentiates the two. There's been a little bit of that, but they still feel pretty similar.

Ouch. Not unexpected considering the poor reception of the SR reboot and Agents of Mayhem (which I completely forgot existed until I looked it up just now).

Wheels is kinda whatever. I don't hate it, but it's not something that I'm really eager to play more of.

S23 Ultra. Was planning to hold off on upgrading, but then I introduced my old phone (and my head) to the pavement earlier this year.

Yeah I don't think they expect you to break all the time, but so many of those times seem contingent on getting the timing right. I'm not complaining because I kinda like it-- it adds some tension.

Also it might be because I've put little to nothing into defense but the boss at the end of "chapter 2" (Chromatic Aberration in the Abandoned Wizard's Lab) started doing attacks that would one-shot characters unless I blocked correctly.

Pace of combat seems fine to me? It's not super quick, but I feel like the game tends towards less battles than the average RPG.

still a bit slow for my taste. when it comes to healing it seems like you pretty much have to use items, since magic is extremely expensive based on the amount of MP you have, and you need to save it for offensive magic to break enemies.

Not sure I agree. I've been using primarily skills/combos to heal. You do have to be careful about when and how you use your MP, though.

Also it's kinda weird that in the beginning the game emphasizes that getting the right timing is just a nice bonus, but so many enemies have double sword/blunt icons. Feels like the game expects you to get the timing right pretty often. Which...it's not hard, but that feels like mixed messaging.

About 5-ish hours in as well, currently at Brisk.

Also enjoying the game quite a bit so far. I have 10 rainbow conches and no idea when I'll find whomever I'm supposed to give these to.

I think my main complaint with the game so far is that the relic system seems...weird? Like, there's a bunch of them that make the game easier in various ways, but you have to buy them...but they're also really cheap? What's even the point of that? Why not just have an accessibility menu from the start? I found a shop with a few that make the game harder, and those are expensive for some reason. But they don't really do anything interesting as far as I can tell (didn't buy), just make you take more damage. I dunno, it's just odd. I've just been ignoring all relics for now because I have no idea if I'm even really meant to engage with it.

I don't generally talk about dreams with people because it's boring. Like, have you ever actually cared when someone is telling you about their dream?

If it was a particularly notable or gruesome death, maybe. But really, who cares about stuff that happens in an area where logic doesn't exist and anything can happen without any particular meaning.

Played maybe two hours last night.

I didn't think the lore stuff at the beginning went on too long. Felt like pretty necessary world building.

Also got my first game over because I wasn't careful enough around some enemies that used bombs. Whoops.

As of now I still prefer BotW. It was such a fresh change of pace and felt like what a 3D Zelda was always meant to be.

TotK feels too bloated as most open world games do. The first game seemed to have better balance to me. But I haven't played enough of the sequel to really say. I'm still in the disappointment phase. Eventually I'll get back to it and probably end up liking it a lot more.

Feel pretty similarly. It's got a very "checklist" style to it that I'm not super fond of.

I also am not super into the building like some people are, so I think some of the fun there is lost on me

Reddit kinda sucks too. Browsing any subreddit above a certain threshold is just frustrating. Top comment is frequently just a recycled one-liner. Any article-based subreddit is just people responding to the headline and getting thousands of upvotes. Local area subreddits are like NextDoor but somehow worse. There's also just a lot of complaining about everything in general.

I've been on Reddit for a while, but I'm trying to ween myself off of it just because I've gotten very tired of all of the above. It's still useful for looking up answers to stuff and for niche communities, but damn I sort of wish we could just go back to specialized message boards.

I found a second Yiga clan hideout thing where you needed all three pieces of armor to enter...and I can't freaking find it again. I guess I didn't mark it on my map. Just got the third piece of armor so I know I can enter the main one, but I want to find this second one again. Think it was along a cliffside around the Forgotten Temple. Or maybe it was to the north around Drenan Highlands. I found it somewhere in that area hoverbiking around again.

Will drink both, but pretty much 95%+ of the time it's coffee. Usually if I drink tea it's milk tea or a matcha latte. Occasionally it's just plain tea.

For coffee I mix it up between pour over, moka pot, espresso/macchiato, and cold brew. No sugar though.

I didn't read everything (especially given this framework is 1000 pages), but it sounds more like Data Science is an alternative option, not replacing Algebra 2. One of the main objections seems to be that kids could get bamboozled into taking this instead when it's not necessarily an adequate replacement. This is a fair complaint, but I don't think it's a huge issue if schools are providing adequate guidance.

There is so stuff in this game, though I'm still not sure it is a good thing.
