Finally took the time to clear Very Hard dungeon. Probably could have done it sooner but... lazy. As far as the free stamina goes, tempted to use it right away to rank up quicker but smarter play is to probably save it for next CB and double drop campaign.

Man, that seems super generous. I'll take it with no complaints though. Sitting at 25,000 gems so I think Im doing well for any prifest units. Do tickets count for the pity system? I haven't been playing much due to family emergencies but I did recently get Tamaki to 3* and she just wrecks the arena with her story boosted stats. Kaori even at 2* does over half bosses health in this current event enabling one try to down the boss.

Have next to no time for the new azur lane event unfortunately. Just dailies for now.

Not even going to bother trying for Chao Ho or whatever that one is. After thirty cubes, I realized, "I've already missed some event ships due to stupid dev decisions, so I'll just wait a year until these garbage ships are put into production/merit shop/etc." This is the year I get to 2000 cubes, so I can't waste too much time on jank.

Yeah, I blew almost 100 cubes trying for Chao Ho. Got probably a dozen ships I haven't had previously including Dido, but I think I'm just going to accept that I won't get her this time. Still sitting at 250+ cubes.

I guess the Clan Battle is over already. Clan ranked ~1500ish which is pretty good for a casual clan I guess. I'm surprised I got 5th in our clan considering I did no practice or research or refreshes, and totally messed up on the first day.

Got to 5* Nozomi yesterday. Guess I'll work on getting Maho from the dungeon shop. Also somehow staying in the 1500-2000 range in arena even though I'm surrounded by stronger teams.
In Azur Lane I'm just missing one new ship from the rate up and it's bugging the hell out of me.

I couldn't last more than a day with it. I've never been a fan of the Dragon Quest aesthetic, and the game just doesn't interest me. Tactical gacha games need to do something to really stand out as they're not fun to grind compared to say, Azur Lane or Priconne. Langrisser did good for a while but the brutal gacha rates and massive grinding made it painful. FEH did a great job of simplifying the tactics while still being fun.

Only have so many XP potions and mana to spread around though, and it seems that using skip tickets denies you character/bond XP, so if I want to build anyone up, they have to go into combat directly with varying degrees of success because I'm not accustomed yet to which enemies are flinging around physical or magical damage, or how I'm crap at team synergy in general. (Bringing a tank and healer/support is obvious enough, but damage options have other factors to consider from range to type.)

Skip tickets give potions and bond boosting food to use in the guildhouse, so you don't totally lose out. If you tap on an enemy's icon during the stage selection, it'll tell you if they're physical or magical, and where they tend to attack so you can position your characters better.

How do I change which ship I want catch up blueprints for? I used all 300 on Neptune, but its 300 per PR thing, right? Like I should be able to start saving for Mainz who is in PR3?

The 300 is a one time bonus. You can switch your focus to PR3 primarily by going to the Research Academy and clicking on the Research Focus button. If your focus is PR3, you'll see more Mainz related research projects.

Managed to clear both dungeons so far. Yukari and her support shield made a huge difference on the owl. At 6000 gems saved now. Probably hoard for Jun even though Nozomi is my only 3*.

Im torn about the jumpstart gacha. I really could use a second 3*, but Im not sure I want to spend money on this so soon especially with the bad exchange rate. Plus Im not a fan of potentially paying for someone I dont want.

Don't forget the possibility of pulling someone you already have. 50 divine amulets is all you get in that case. Happened to me.

In other news, the Italian rerun started in Azur Lane. First construction got me her:

Got three Zara's on one 10 pull. Like, WTF are the odds of that? I've been waiting for this re-run for a long time. Some of the best swimsuit skins in the game.

Edit: Also, this new Auto function is pretty nice. Takes a bit to get used to. Perfect for event farming.

Same. My guaranteed 3* from jump start was a dupe of Nozomi. Haven't had luck in at least 8 or so multi-pulls. I know logic dictates that I should restart but I'm not exactly hurting for progress at the moment. It's refreshing using lower rarity units for a change.

I created a clan for us. I just called it PrinCEsses, so once you unlock the clans feature, search that name in the clans menu, look for the one created by Cal (my in-game name), and then send a request to join it. Either that or post your user ID in this topic, but I can't send you an invite until you've cleared a certain story mission (3-1 Normal, I think) and unlocked the clans feature though.

Just downloaded and played a bit. I was hesitant at first but it seems like I'll be giving this game a good go, F2P style. Got Nozomi, Tamaki, Chika, Shiori, and Suzanne. Also Mitsuki but I'm not using her at the moment. I'll look into joining later.

Core Data Packs can be analyzed to give blueprints instead of being used to speed up combat exp requirements. Since blueprints are so hard to get, most people use them for that purpose.

Alrighty, I got Warspite and bought her retrofit sword thing. While we're in the shop, is there ever any good ship to buy with Merit? Like right now it's Eldridge. Or should I just spend it on Prototype Bulins?

Good call getting Warspite. With her retrofit she's one of the best ships in the game. And unless you're going for collection bonuses or fleet tech points, Bulins are the best use.

As far as data packs go, it's better to use them for blueprints but obviously this game isn't about min-maxing. If you have a favorite ship and want to use it sooner rather than later, go ahead and speed up the grind.

Keep in mind a tradesperson has to go through three or four years (periods) of schooling, depending on trade and area. In those periods of schooling (I believe they are 8 week long periods on average) they are learning specifically about their trade. Oftentimes in graduate degrees, a student has to take multiple electives that aren't directly related to what they are hoping to learn but can encompass a 'well-rounded' education.

Further, a tradesperson spends multiple years as apprentices gaining increased responsibilities as they go through the years. At any point, these apprentices have a possibility of losing their apprenticeship if they are shown to not take it seriously or if they are not demonstrating improved abilities.

Once an apprentice becomes a journeyman, does not mean they stop learning or improving, nor that they are necessarily competent. It's a lifelong learning process, and often are required to take additional training through the years.

I also don't understand why you're trying to equate a degree with earning ability. It's supply and demand. Good tradesman are desired at a minimum, and the best ones can make a company tons of money.

I've been foreman many times. A lot of people say it's not worth the extra money, and I can see why they say that. As foreman, you're designated 'front-line supervision' which means you are responsible for everything and anything that goes wrong. Even if you had no way of knowing something was wrong beforehand.

How does an Iron Blood team sound? I have Prinz Eugen/Henrich, that chick that look like W, and Weser. Not sure who would take the last 2 spots...

Most iron blood teams revolve around Bismarck who is pretty solid and buffs everyone or the PR ships Roon, Friedrich, and Odin. You can make a frontline with the two Prinz ships and Leipzig, an uncommon rarity ship that buffs the other two. Other ships to look out for are Z1, Z23, and Z46. Z1 has a retrofit that buffs Z class Destroyers massively. Z23 is a starter ship that deals a ton of damage normally. Z46 is a hard to get ship but is pretty solid. Roon (pr) and Roon (muse) are both great frontliners.

For the backlines, Bismarck as mentioned, Tirpitz, Graf Zeppelin as carrier, the new Strasser, or the PR ships FDG and Odin.

Everyone else on Iron Blood is kind of meh. In real life they didn't have much of a navy to begin with. They have a much smaller roster compared to the other three major navies.

I think Prinz Heinrich is my new favorite ship.

33.9% on Hiryuu Meta so far after today. Operation Siren is decent filler so far but I'm not interested in clearing the maps, just getting enough points to challenge Hiryuu.

How great is that unique class did the main character? I kind of want to use after I max out hero because its story however, I might want to be a Sniper in my next run which is kinda weird for some people. I always liked bows

It gives very nice skill boost exp, extra HP, Str, Mag, Def, and Cha growths, and swordfaire is a nice boost with sword of the creator. There are much better classes of course but it's a good class on it's own merits.

New tweet posted about Guild 2.0 in Azur Lane. One of the guild upgrade things is dock space. I'm going to have to join one now lol.

Do you have her set to a hard mode fleet? Commissions wont select anyone who is set to any of them and I think also ignores anyone set to either exercise fleet.

This is the issue. The game doesn't give any notification that she's in a hard mode fleet somewhere yet withholds them from commissions. Also, level doesn't effect chance of finding anything.

In a rare move, a large amount of ships are getting a minor buff specific to each ship with the upcoming Operation Siren mode. Takao (and everyone in her class) for example has a quicker All Out Assault activation and gets a 10% evasion buff when it activates. I know there is a leaked list out there but I'd like to find an official confirmation on it.

I just checked and dailies do count. So essentially anything that costs Oil. Event maps with a lot of grinding tend to be the best methods, but the best experience comes from worlds 10 onwards.

There are two schools of thought towards grinding exp; passively or actively. Passive is making grind fleets for the dailies and events, and even hard mode maps, but that's it. Can take about a month. Actively is doing the above, but also grinding the later worlds where ships get over 2000 exp per battle, and more if they get MVP. Speaking of MVP, try to weaken the part of the fleet that's not involved in the grind so the bonus goes to the correct ships. A 3-1 or 1-3 is optimal. There are lots of good ships to grind for in the later chapters too. The exp grind can be finished in less than a week this way.

I already got the two ships I wanted most, so I'm okay just passively grinding for now. This particular event isn't the greatest exp but the fact I have to do the map 60 times with 6 fights each means it adds up.

Hidden potential. Its a skill they're weak at to start, but if you personally tutor them enough times it becomes a strength and gives an extra skill related to it.
