Congressional override with 2/3s? I mean, I don't know if it would help today with this Congress and there'd be some rough edges you may have to iron out like how long does Congress have to act, would it be subject to "recess pardons" if they're not in session, etc.

As you posted I was just thinking that maybe it should need Congressional approval (50%+1) but we're aiming at the same point.

If everything wasn't so polarized, I think a 2/3s override makes a lot of sense.

At any rate, I think this would require an Amendment so it's kind of a moot point.

So I somehow missed The Gardens Between being on Game Pass until just yesterday, which meant that I started playing it tonight. I'm on level 15, possibly genuinely stuck for the first time as I can only find one way to get both Arina and Frendt past the soda cans and that won't allow Arina's motion to turn the water blocking Frendt off. I'm hoping to come back tomorrow refreshed and figure it out en route to a hopeful finish. Otherwise, it's been pleasant enough so far.

Had an appointment with my therapist on Monday. No shame in that, lots of people have a therapist, life coach, mentor, or whatever. Talked about last week and how I was trending away from Trumpism for awhile, but that whole thing shook me and really made me feel like I got out of a cult before it was too late. After that, without getting into any real specifics because of patient confidentiality, she mentioned having multiple patients calling her or in her office crying because the insurrection didnt work.

Seriously. What in the actual fuck is wrong with these people? I get supporting Trump in the beginning when people were all bandwagoning, but now? I dont know what other proofs we need that the dude is bad news.

I guess these people feel like they have no control of their life (or maybe they are incapable). They NEED to believe it something; it's a path to simplfying their life, peace, grounding, whatever. So they latch onto whatever they can to be that foundation. In this case, it's a narcissistic, charlatan. For others, it's religion.

That's not the way I operate. I can't just "believe" and blindly do what someone says.

But there are many who ARE comfortable with that. And now that foundation of their life is getting rocked and they just don't know what to do because they have no other support structure. Some will retreat back to religion again, others will look to other leaders political or otherwise. It's a fraught time when a cult gets smashed down because the members are going to be extra desperate to get back on "solid footing". I would hope at least some recognize the error of "blind belief" but most will not.

I loved KH and KH2 back when I played them on PS2. I didn't like Chain of Memories on GBA.

I got The Story So Far and was excited to play them again, along with the other KH games I hadn't played. Let me just say up front that I stopped playing after starting Birth by Sleep and have not had the energy to go back (in 18+ months)...yet. So my recollection is not as fresh as when I initially played.

The original is NOT a good game. I'm sorry but it's true. The camera is terrible and some of the stages are AWFUL (Tarzan and Alice in Wonderland immediately come to mind). I found many boss battle to be ungodly annoying. Everyone remembers Simple and Clean, the FF characters, and the novelty of the Disney settings and forget that it's a monotonous (and kinda badly playing) game.

I played Chain of Memories for a few hours before I couldn't stand the card system anymore and just watched the cutscenes on Youtube.

KH2 is a much improved game over the original. But that doesn't make it great. It loses quite a bit of the first game's novelty. It's a fine way to pass the time but something like Galaxy is a timeless classic.

358/2 isn't playable but I remember thinking the story was better than I expected.

Birth by Sleep I started with the 1st character and just got frustrated by the battle system and revisiting the same worlds again. Then I thought about having to do the same things with 2 more characters and I just couldn't bear any more.

I really do want to go back and at least experience the rest of the collection but what I had played really soured my nostalgia. I'm just being honest here. I love, and still love, the idea of Kingdom Hearts. I just found the execution lacking and cannot put the series, or even any individual game, on the level of Nintendo's best.

If there was a contest right now, I'd put Galaxy > KH2, then Galaxy > Melee.

Then I'd look at this board's predictions and very likely change to Melee > Galaxy because it'd see the logic of the argument. But I'd keep Galaxy > KH2 because the opposite just doesn't feel right to me.

My gut thought is Galaxy > Melee > KH2.

No idea if the "numbers" back me up but that's what I'd go with without thinking too hard. I do imagine there's not a tremendous gap between the three but Galaxy just had a re-release.

While we're here, are Ambrosias worth holding on to when you're not in late game?

As I understand it, they're used to maximize your relationship with the characters, but it takes some time since you have to give them nectars anyway, and other than story, you get companions? Which I heard are useful but have very limited use and not really game changers.

From a purely gameplay perspective, is it worth it to trade them for Titan's Blood?

For me, that answer was yes, absolutely. I really wanted to unlock more weapons, so it was an easy choice, especially because it took me a long while before I had to use the Ambrosia for its "intended" purpose.

My big tip for this game, which was alluded to above, is to BE PATIENT! You can't exchange blows in this game and come out on top, especially when it comes to the bosses, which should be the main sticking points. Use the range of your weapons to chip away and use the environment to your advantage.

Oh yeah, and put Athena on your dash. Having deflect there is extremely helpful to avoiding damage, especially when you're going for your first few clears.

I first went through this game almost two years ago and went out and bought it for two other platforms to give me incentive to go through it again.

I love the on-rails aspect of it. I can't imagine it feeling as special if it had free movement. The puzzle mechanics are simple and the puzzles aren't especially taxing on the brain, but they are very clever and extremely rewarding to solve. It is also very high on atmosphere and mood, which is right up my alley, and is quite emotional for a game with minimal plot and no dialogue.

This topic got me to buy and finish that game on the Steam sale as well. I will echo most of your comments. It's a simple, fun, relatively breezy experience. I feel stupid for not figuring out the relationship between the 2 characters sooner but I tend to focus on gameplay over story.

I would recommend The Gardens Between if you like puzzle games, especially something like Braid (though this is a much simpler game than that).

I actually think DC's gun control was relaxed at some point in the past few years.

Also, not that anyone really cares for hyper local news but Arlington and Alexandria Counties in Virginia (just on the other side of the Potomac River from DC) were also put on the same 6pm curfew as DC. Likely a smart move as some of these dumb motherfucker terrorists were likely staying in hotels over here.

Probably some more I'm not thinking about but you look at that list and the most obvious winner seems to be Hades because I don't see the arguments against it.

...yes...I believe I did play that first. That was in the TV studio I think.

Which actually reminds me that was another thing that bothered me. I'm pretty sure those interludes were separate things before the complete game was released. So I don't think I ended up playing the previous 3 interludes because I didn't know they existed. Imagine my surprise when all these new things were in the full game release but weren't marked as played.

I made the mistake of playing Kentucky Route Zero about 6 months before Act 5 came out. It was my mistake for thinking it was already finished.

I wasn't really too high on the game as is though I did enjoy it's style. But then trying to come back to play Act 5 having forgotten most of what happened was an extra terrible experience.

I played exclusively on Switch in handheld mode. I would experience a little bit of slowdown at times in Elysium and Styx when there were a ton of enemies and I had a bunch of boons effects going at once but 99% of the time it ran fine.

As someone coming from a verrrry old car to a new car recently (2020 Corolla), it's incredible to me how much cars drive themselves.

Between the adaptive cruise control (speeds up and slows down as needed) and the lane trace assist (makes steering adjustments to stay in line) driving has never been more pleasant. I also get the feeling it could do even more but we aren't yet there as a society to allow that.

It seems like downtime makes it feel worse and using it makes feel better. Or at least. Not moving it makes it a bitch the next time I go to use it. Where as constantly using it gets to a dull pain in which I can normalize. It felt relatively alright for a few days before I camped outside walmart standing in one spot for 5 hours. Now, I'm fucked again and have a physical tomorrow lol.

Would wearing a brace or one of those knee sleeve things help?

It makes sense that it would feel better when you're active, since you're increasing the blood flow and keeping the area warm.

Not the same thing, but I know when I've got sore muscles sometimes the best thing to do is some light exercise using those muscles. Usually seems to help speed up the recovery process.

When you order something and when you give it to someone are two separate things. If I find a good deal, I certainly would buy something and then hold off on giving it until a later date.

I know you're upset things have gone sideways. I was trying to understand why things didn't go right. If you ordered on Black Friday, then yes, I agree that's not "last minute".

• Do you have other neighbors (aside from the one with the camera) you could check with to see if maybe they got a package by mistake?
• Do you know if there's an easy address mix up that might have happened (i.e. is there both a 101 Maple St iand a 101 Maple Ave) in your town?
• Maybe have someone else search your home? A fresh/different set of eyes can help, though it sounds to me like the package was never delivered.
• Maybe the package is still in a USPS warehouse someplace? Can you check to see if there's a depot or something where undelivered packages go?
