Several people have been stabbed in the city center of the southwestern city of Turku in Finland, Finnish police said on Friday.

Police shot the suspect in the leg and arrested him in connection with the attack.

On its officialTwitter account,the Southwest Finland Police Service wrote:"Several persons stabbed in central Turku. Police has shot at suspected perpetrator. One person is apprehended."

They did not give a specific number of injuries. The police tweeted that the public should move away from the city center.

The Finnish Security Intelligence Service, or SUPO, could not be reached for comment.

The motive of the attack remains unconfirmed, but itcomes a day after two vehicle-ramming attacks in Spain, one in the city center of Barcelona that left 13deadand another in a town south of the city that killed one person.

In June, SUPOsaid it had obtained knowledge of extremism-related plans being made in the country. In response, it raised the threat from ‘low’ to ‘elevated.’

“The most significant terrorist threat in Finland is still posed by individual actors or small groups motivated by radical Islamist propaganda or terrorist organizations encouraging them,” SUPO said in a statement.

It said the increased threat in the country was a result of dozens of foreign fighters traveling to join ISIS, some rising through its ranks and obtaining senior positions inthe radical Islamist group.

According to Finnish intelligence, around 70 Finnish adults had traveled to join ISIS in Iraq and Syria by the end of 2015.

Having seen the pictures and watched the trailers for IT, we are now forced to ask ourselves what could possibly scarier than seeing a cackling, red-haired, makeup-drenched clown (Bill Skarsgard) on the big screen? Oh, I know, how about putting that nightmare on a 50-foot screen and throwing in immersive surround sound that makes you feel trapped in a room with the killer clown. That experience will now be offered to you as IT has been granted an IMAX release.

Producer Barbara Muschietti made the announcement via her Instagram page, confirming (with plenty of exclamation marks) the movie would be getting an IMAX release.

The movie was not filmed in IMAX, so don’t expect the film to be the scary clown version of DUNKIRK, but that doesn’t mean the movie won’t benefit from the superior sound quality and encapsulating visual experience. I can only imagine the sale of night lights will skyrocket as of September 8.

The IMAX release is just one way Warner Bros. is trying to market IT as a unique horror adventure, another being the IT VR experience that makes you feel like one of the unlucky members of the Loser’s Club trapped right in the middle of the terror. As well a four-minute clip from the movie was shown to anyone seeing ANNABELLE: CREATION in theaters, a rare treat by any standard.

Everyone will be seeing this movie in theaters, and IMAX will be the way to make your experience stand out. A huge key to a horror movie’s success is atmospherics, and seeing something in IMAX certainly cranks that up to 11. At the very least it’s the scariest clown on the biggest screen. That's a positive, right?

The "We Love Manchester Emergency Fund" will distribute $324k to each of the families of the 22 people killed in a terrorist attack atAriana Grande's concert.

Approximately $24.5 million was raised following the horrific attack on May 22 at the Manchester Arena ... where Ariana had just finished her concert seconds before a nail bomb exploded in the rotunda. The victims were as young as 8 and at least 59 people were injured.

Sue Murphy, the chair of the trustees of the fund, said "the payments will ensure the families benefit from the phenomenal outpouring of public support following the attack."

Part of the funds -- some of which came from Ariana's One Love benefit concert -- went to those who were hospitalized as a result of the attack.

Murphy said they'll look into how to distribute the remaining funds.
