If you glance quickly you're probably fine, I guess but the big thing is not getting caught looking as it moves. Common sense tends to go out the window when it comes to rare events like that. Then again, if common sense were a thing, people would not need to be reminded not to drive while wearing eclipse glasses. That's why regular sunglasses won't work and you need something specifically designed to block the maximum amount of UVA/B/C possible.
