Back on topic. A couple weeks ago I was at McDonald's, and there was a woman in front of me with two kids. She asks the cashier "What lettuce sandwiches do you have?"

"Lettuce sandwiches? We don't have anything like that."

"What sandwiches do you have that have lettuce on them?! Good lord!"

I seriously considered beating her about the breasts.

You're literally paying someone to just grill some tesco's periperi chicken and charge you 10quid for it as opposed to 1.

Yeah, if I'm ordering at the counter and need a second, I'll step aside and let them know when I'm ready as opposed to keeping them on the hook. If I'm at the drivethru, I'll try hard to be as quick as possible if it's busy and there's people behind me.

If you are using a cart you should not be allowed to use the quick self checkout.

Honestly, they're some of the easiest to deal with for me...

On Monday I had a lady actually threaten to shoot me if I didn't give her a free pulled pork sandwich because she sat at the speaker for 20 minutes and nobody answered. (At 07:30... We open at 11:00)

I took it as a credible threat since I saw the gun...

At that point we start to ignore them, throw whatever food they want in their face and try to get them the hell out as fast as possible. No use discussing anything, once someone pulls out that card they're a lost cause.

I think it's worse when customers come up and ask if we know our owner. Someone pulled that on my manager, was hilarious since we actually did know the owner and have worked with him. So the customer had to come up with some other bullshit to spew.

I hate these people. There was this one idiot who would always order a "regular" sized iced coffee when we only had medium or large. I informed him of that fact and asked which size he wanted, and he would just yell "REGULAR!"

And then there was this one douchebag who dropped his change in the drive thru. I handed him his money, and when I was sure he had it, I turned to get his food. When I got back, he was just staring at me and his door was open and he said in the most childish sarcastic voice "Oh I'm just getting the money you dropped when you turned around. Don't help me or anything, I got it!". It was literally 100% his fault for dropping it. Do these morons seriously expect the person in the drive thru to walk out of the restaurant just to pick up some chump change for them? It wasn't even 25 cents.

I'm pretty sure a screen would only slow things down. You forget, our customers are fucking dumb. It's usually faster for us to put in their stupid modifications than for them to find out how to put sour cream on the side or change the taco into a soft taco.
