Iunno, maybe it's my rose-tinted glasses for that game but I thought the control scheme worked. For the overall driving, it really doesn't need anything else. Mapping the copy abilities to A as well forces you to be considerate of when you use them, since their main function is stopping someone else. (the damage seemed irrelevant most of the time, outside of Destruction Derby)

Starfox Zero.

I appreciate they were trying to do something different to keep it fresh, but it was entirely unnecessary and now we might not ever get another Starfox game. All the other changes were fine like new vehicles and modes, but the controls just put a wall in front of the game that very few people wanted to get over.

Even sitting at home, a game shouldn't test your breathing habits when the target demographic might not exercise.
The touch screen stuff was fine though, which means PH was great. ST required the flute often, and controlling the train was lame as well.

Spirit Tracks
Lets take the worst part of Wind Waker, put it on rails, and only let you turn if you react quick enough at an intersection after being bored to sleep by literately being railroaded.

The Witcher. I can't play it at all with how shitty the combat system is. Barely an input at all.

Diablo 3. Fucking 6 abilities at once? Fuck off, casuals.

Honorable mention to GTAV / Online. Lots of shitty console holdovers, too many menus to slog through without macros, and shit like forced mousewheel / cycling weapons in vehicles. Not unplayable, just annoying.

the motion controls in the wii wario ware game really limited the minigames and made the game feel really clunky
it's just nowhere near as intuitive as pressing a button or tapping something to make it react, and the fact that they have to tell you what position to hold the wiimote in before the minigame even starts is proof that even the devs recognized an inherent flaw with the motion control setup
why the fuck can't wario ware be a series of fun minigames that actually use the d-pad and buttons, again?

Oh, and despite being my favorite game, Deus Ex's default (PC) controls are awful, although they're fully customizable. Semi-colon for reload, F12 for the flashlight (which uses a lot of bioelectric energy), etc.

My only problem with Super Metroid is switching through weapons with select is a pain in the butt. Having missiles mapped to R like in Fusion and Zero Mission is so fantastic. But, in Super Metroid it's a minor gripe.

Someone mentioned Super Metroid earlier lol. I mostly hated wall jumping but found the controls acceptable.

For Monster Hunter, I mostly found Freedom Unite awkward but the DS games were still a bit clunky at first.

the super metroid controls are a little clunky honestly but it is still alright. deus ex definitely has some shit controls though, still one of the best games I've played
