Yeah. It was fun messing with friends when they didn't know about it but you really couldn't have legit matches after it. Thankfully they didn't have it in Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy. Of course No Mercy had that save glitch. Even with those problems the Aki games were easily the best wrestling games. It's a shame those ones didn't stick around forever like the current games.

Oddly enough it didnt work when Alex Wright did his Super German Suplex finisher. If you tried youd just be pinning yourself this, along with his ridiculous taunt, led to him becoming one of the more likes wrestlers amongst my school.

We would do his taunt on the playground after scoring a goal, touchdown, three pointer, etc

The Championships were better in the WCW games because they came out to the ring with them on. If I remember correctly that wasn't the case with the two WWF games

WCW belt designs in general were lit. WWE adopted their championship as their own and used it until 2018 or something.

I do. He mostly wrestled in Japan from what I've read.

The only matches I know of that he had on western WCW broadcasts were War Games '96, a singles match against Mr. JL (Jerry Lynn), and a random tag match. I can't remember the participants of that one except that Lex Luger was one of his opponents.

In the game he played the same as sting but without the submission finish. Instead if he was close to losing the nWo would come out and help.

Was a waste of a character slot for sure.

I would say 4-6. I work retail, I kind of have to be at least a little socially competent. Plus I've learned a lot over the years through forced outside human interaction. A couple years ago I was unable to even hold eye contact.

I was in the crowd of the Capcom Cup at PlayStation experience and made a topic about it on one of the more ninche boards on this site

two other GaneFaqs Users were in the crowd with me, and we all met up to watch together.

Not only were two GameFaqs users at the same event in my city, but both happened to be browsing GameFaqs while also watching the showand not only thatbut browsing one of the less trafficked boards no less.

GameFaqs use to be normal. Due to its widespread appeal, and giant, diversed, and most friendly userbase it was the place to be!

GameFaqs had a real opportunity to blow up and become a powerhouse the likes of Reddit or Twitch.

Unfortunately it never evolved, and as the userbase got older and more integrated into every mundane NORMAL lifethe more core users of this platform (mods included) sunk deeper and deeper into their own self-induced exile from the general mainstream society.

This created a disconnect between the administration and the userbase, and as such the userbase that didnt align with the cultural shift that the mods began implementing, simply left the platform.

It is what it is, but I often remenisce if the days of old, and think what could have been

Didnt we meet once at a fighting game tournament or something?

Ive been here since 2002, back when this place was a top trafficked Alexa site and folks were mostly normal.

I discovered GameFaqs because my Football Teammate was browsing it in computer class, and was laughing at the 2002 April Fools prank of switching everything over to X-Box for a day.

I started browsing with him. At two of my colleges Ive caught other people browsing GameFaqs. On one computer when I logged in someone else was already logged in. I logged out for him.

In 2010 I started traveling to conventions & esports tournaments. Im 2010 if you were competing in a gaming tournament there was a 90% chance you had a GameFaqs account.

Then in 2015 I started working in the Gaming industry if you are around my age and have dedicated your entire life to gaming you better believe at one point or another you had a GameFaqs account.

So, Ive probably met about 50 or so people with GameFaqs accounts, all normal folks. But the situation that led to the reveal was life we didnt meet up because of GameFaqs.

As far as actually meeting up with people because of a pre-existing GameFaqs relationship, Id say about a dozen or so.

One such person moved from east coast to west coast for work, and didnt know anybody so they sent me a DM. Oddly enough the guy was a longtime troll on one of the forums I frequent. We are actually really good friends now, he lives a short ways away.

People use to living on Current Events over the course of the past two years have completely forgotten how normal and welcoming GameFaqs use to be.

Now its just full of anti-social hermits. Its sad. GameFaqs no longer mimicks real life thats why is almost dead

I'm the opposite, I stick around groups and people long after I lose interest. It's the FOMO of thinking as soon as I flake something cool is going to happen.

9.5 -- my job literally requires me to travel to conferences and talk on stage to thousands of people, then attend cocktail mixtures, and nightclub VIP ragers in order to socialize and mingle. My entire job is socializing, and not much else.

You all know this too, because up until quite recently, when y'all decided you were annoyed by the life I lived, I use to post videos/pictures of me doing this. Had done so since 2015...but for some reason in 2021 y'all just decided that you were no longer interested in it, and really got offended.

I still have guys who stalk me, and send me DMs yelling at me for being obnoxious or anti-vax or whatever...which doesn't even make sense because you need to be vaccinated to attend the conferences, and in some cases you have to take a covid test to get into the damn building each day :-/
