they are the same exact thing as mainstream conservatives, just your typical kool-aid drinking dolts who buy into whatever propoganda their party is selling.

however the difference here is that liberals, rather than reveling in nostalgia or being proud of being ignorant like many conservatives, become extremely smug, self-righteous, and overly satisfied with the idea that they are intelligent, reasonable, love science, logic, are progressive, etc. both parties want to just preserve the status quo, but i hate how liberals act like they are superior for doing the same amount of nothing

More players absolutely, really an issue if you don't have enough active friends and have to use LFG sites. I despise the toxic LFG communities.

And then there's yearly exclusive content, like an extra strike, exotic and pvp map.

I'm not a fan of the PS4 controller myself. My personal favorite was the PS3 controller.

I think it really comes down to where your friends are. Aren't you a CE meetup regular with DrunkenMuggle and friends? Maybe they're getting D2.

I don't really play games consistently with any friends so I'd be solo. Probably gonna go ps4 since it has more content and players.

how are you going to sit here and say that Empire Strikes Back is trash?

Jedi was after Empire Strikes Back.

merchandising was a major element of star wars directly after the success of the first one

I've played WoW on and off since 2004 when I was 13, so I'm always gonna go back now and then check out what's up, but I agree that games like Destiny are probably the future. Not saying Destiny is perfect, but I got a lot of fun out of the first one and if you presented me with both games RIGHT NOW for the first time, no nostalgia involved, it'd be pretty obvious which one is more engaging.

I've given up on the mythical "WoW killer," but if one were to ever come along, it would be a game that plays in a similar style to Destiny that also perfects the open world and social aspect in the way WoW did.

agreed 100%, with WoW sometimes you feel like you're not even playing a game, just clicking on stuff. the social elements and i think the core design of the game (especially with all the complimentary classes and how to integrate them all in a raid or pvp environment) is awesome, but with WoW i feel like I am doing boring mindless shit for 95% of the time to have fun 5% of the time, and with Destiny I'm doing the reverse. not saying games like that are perfect but at least people are iterating on the MMO model now

i feel like games such as destiny 2 make the playstyle in WoW obsolete. you still get the grind for loot that we all love but it's broken up into easily consumed blocks of gameplay where you're always doing something fairly engaging. WoW is the polar opposite where you're just going past nonstop artificial gates. and this is coming from a guy who would consider WoW one of his favorite games ever

working from home is overrated. it's nice to have the option to telecommute if necessary, like if you have medical appointments or other external obligations that interfere with your normal office schedule. the thought of staying at home all week makes me cringe though - I HAVE to get out of the house, and I HAVE to have that bare minimum of social interaction with coworkers

my company gives employees 3 work from home days a month and i think that's a pretty good balance. it's nice to have a day when you can just chill in your PJs and answer emails while eating snacks on the couch, but my productivity goes waaay down when i'm at home and i end up just playing playstation while tapping my mouse every few minutes to avoid my laptop going to sleep.

Yeah I suppose. I had a chance to keep my work-from-home office with that new position, but since that dream is officially squashed, I have to risk going elsewhere.

Fuck I really don't want to have to drive to work everyday. Tell me it'll be worth it. I'm just scared I'll be making the wrong decision.

Assuming the promotion you got denied for was a realistic move for you (meaning that you didn't apply to become the CFO with entry-level experience or something) , the writing is on the wall that there is not opportunity to move up at your current company.

Maybe in the future there will be a position open for you, but you're ready to move now, and every second you spend there is going to just be you with your wheels spinning and your skills stagnating. And even then, there's no guarantee there is a future for you at this company and that a position might even open up.

So you have to do what's best for you. I commute about an hour each way to work and honestly I don't mind it much. It sucks once in a while when there's an accident and I'm stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, but most of the time it's tolerable and sometimes even enjoyable. I listen to music or podcasts in the car, sometimes I'll stop for coffee or bring some to drink on the car ride, etc. It gives me time to also transition from being half awake to ready to work in the morning, and it gives me time to decompress after work.

Not saying commuting is great or anything but it's not really a big deal. I'd rather be in an office than work from home anyway.

agreed, every lenovo laptop ive ever bought has had some kind of problem (screen and wifi seem to be huge issues) that required me either returning it to the store or sending it in for service. I will not buy another one of their products again.

I'd suggest HP, Dell, or Acer (they stepped up their quality a lot in the last few years but still have stigma to the brand name, so you can get good quality stuff with nice specs for a lower price than the big guys).

TopicBe honest, we started sucking as a society when Youtube became popular.
Romulox28

I think Youtube is pretty interesting representation of the realities of society.

The design Youtube is that everyone is creating content and sharing memories/perspectives, and whenever you see advertisements or promos for it you're seeing Casey Neistat talking about how YT has inspired a generation of amateur filmmakers, awe-inspiring nature videos, videos for motivating social change, etc.

But when you really get into YouTube and see what is popular besides Despacito and Jimmy Fallon clips, you see the real bottom of the barrel trash that people truly go on YouTube to see.

Making Out With Girls Videos (jerkoff material for preteens), Stepping on black peoples' shoes in the hood pranks, crushing iPhones, Jake Paul vlogs, obese people reviewing fast food in their cars, Shoenice eating broken glass, pimple popping, etc

H3H3 productions does a good job of showing this part of YouTube, where it's people producing garbage and making shitloads of money off of it. I think that's a good snapshot of society, where we all pretend to be elevated people using our technology for education, enlightenment, and social change, but at the end of the day we really want to just watch LA Beast eat light bulbs and jars of mayo.
