remember that time that like 90% of the plot in MGSV is filler, and then when you actually get to the story the game just kind of ends because the ending is incomplete?

Remember how the trailers told more story than the actual game?

Remember WHOA OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The Red Band trailer remains one of the greatest video game trailers ever made tbh

I think next to maybe Metroid Prime I have never been so hyped for a video game as I was for MGSV. honestly that game was the biggest video game disappointment of my entire life and every now and then i'll reinstall the game again and play it with the delusional thought that one day i'll play it again and it will just be better somehow

Applebees is more than just a restaurant, it is an experience.

When you step through the door of the restaurant your first time, you are transported into a world unlike any other. The low light of the restaurant casts shadows on the knick-knacks adorning the walls, and the translucent hum of the various screens through the restaurant create a sort of ethereal presence in the restaurant.

Right off the bat, you know you are in for a dining experience like no other.

"Welcome to Applebees!" a cheerful host says to you. "How many are in your party?" You hold up two fingers. "Right this way!" She responds. As you walk to your table, you wonder how she can deal with so many customers, yet remain so chipper, but shrug it off as another wonderful mystery caused by the splendor of Applebees.

The waitress takes your drink order and for a moment, your head is spinning. Do you want a soda? Do you want iced tea? You look at the drink menu and you see a litany of alcoholic beverages you have only dreamed about - Bud Light, Coors Light, Miller Light...

The waitress offers a helpful suggestion of an Oreo Shake, and you say that sounds great. She asks if you'd like a round of water for the table as well. You smile. This is the kind of attention to detail that you expect from Michelin Star rated restaurants, not a Neighborhood Bar & Grill!

As the waitress goes to fetch your shake, you peruse the menu. The pages are jam-packed with the names of delicacies that you can only imagine. Fiesta Lime Chicken? Shrimp N' Parmesan Sirloin? You shift in your seat; you suddenly feel very self-aware that you do not belong in this restaurant. Your palatte does not feel sophisticated enough for these cuisines, and you worry that you will not do these delicacies justice when you enjoy them.

Just at this moment, the waitress comes to your table and all your fears are dissuaded. You order the Chicken Tenders Platter (a local favorite). You take a sip from your Oreo Shake and breath a sigh of relief as liquified Oreos slide down your throat. You lean back in your booth and relax.

Suddenly, you hear a chorus of heavenly voices rise from behind you. You turn around to see all of the Applebees wait staff coming towards you, singing and clapping their hands. "Happy happy birthday, from Applebees to you," they cheer. "We wish it was our birthday, so we could party too, hey!"

As soon as they arrived, the employees scatter, leaving you to dwell on the beauty of it all; the fact that Applebees treats you with such precise, special attention, the five-star cuisine, the exotic decor, and the fact that the wait staff is so eager to share in your special moments with you.

This is great

Like: when single player games add in little multiplayer features so you can kind of interact with other players while still doing single player stuff. for example leaving hints in Dark Souls or seeing what other players do with their time in Persona 5

Dislike:cinematic games where your character does all these sick moves but all you're really doing is holding forward and X or something and the game plays itself. like Naughty Dog games, Assassin's Creed, Shadow of Mordor, etc. It's not exciting to do crazy backflips and jump from one cliff to another if all you're doing is holding down a button and there's no margin for error or any real input from the player. might as well watch a movie

drama/comedy

starts off as a typical adult comedy cartoon, but around the 5th or 6th episode of the first season there is a big tonal shift where things become darker and more dramatic and it stays that way for the whole series.

Comedy-wise it's fairly grounded and not too zany, although there are zany elements and characters, and it switches between funny moments and more emotional ones. Think of like an adult version of Arrested Development in terms of how it handles little details and continuity. Honestly you'd think this wouldn't work on a show about talking animals but it does.

Great show IMO. Very clever, very nuanced comedy and it's probably the best depiction of depression I've ever seen in any form of media. Just don't go in expecting a stoner comedy or something light hearted because as I said, it gets pretty fucking dark

I feel like it was the original tryhard beer. "Look at all their posers drinking generic piss-water. I'm a real man and drink the 'strongest' stuff."

I find that attitude funny as hell because if you look at what the old hands in any trade profession drink its piss water (or maybe a standard bitter ale or something) and not IPA. These guys just want to have a cold one and talk about women and cars, not discuss fragrant aromas in their fucking drink

the difference between a bud light and an IPA is that the bud light is actually drinkable, whereas the IPA you have to take in sips and then it fills you up like you just had a full fucking meal. meanwhile you can just pound 3 bud lights and you're good to go, plus maybe you'll even get a buzz

destiny 2 looks like it'll be a fun timesink and it's crazy to think that in 2017 a sci-fi online RPG is one of the most popular games. like 15 years ago people would say this is for nerds and now it's for everyone

FIFA is FIFA, it has a fanbase that loves to play it competitively

idk doesnt seem that bad honestly if you accept that things will never be the same as the PS2 era and before, end of the day it's just entertainment

In this scene, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are in the bodies of their younger selves in 1985. They walk and talk on the sidewalk in New York City. At this point in the timeline, they have also just learned that Obama no longer becomes President in the future. Joe is devastated. They walk and talk.

Joe: It’s not healthy to hold it all in.

Barry: Hold what in?

Joe: The unbridled rage you are entitled to by having your entire legacy, everything you’ve worked for over the last three decades of your life, taken away! The crushing disappointment you must feel in having every achievement you unlocked re-locked, every barrier and ceiling you broke through repaired and reenforced, of having your historic footsteps in the sands of time permanently erased! Millions, billions of souls screaming out all at once and falling on deaf ears. If not for yourself, then for humanity! You must feel something!?

Barry delights in discovering a pack of cigarettes in his pocket.

Barry: Ha!

He lights one and begins to take a deep drag. Joe throws the cigarette to the ground and smashes it with his foot.

Joe: Barack Hussein Obama as your best friend and Vice President in a parallel universe we’ll converge with hopefully soon, I hereby COMMAND you to be full of righteous fury or extreme moping or anything other than cool. This instant! And that’s an order!

i want to fucking die

any sort of progress, esp in the business world, is going to involve you having to step out of your comfort zone and attempt something above your level.

but honestly if youre getting hit up for interviews in senior roles you clearly have some kind of skill or experience that will make you potentially a good fit, so you just need to roll with it. the negative thoughts are just irrational fears and if you listened to them all the time youd be in the same job till you died
