like this patch, none of that shit makes any sense.

i want to be clear to the ppl who don't know about the game. it's not "nerfing overperforming strategies" it's literally nerfing pretty much any half-decent card. not even the crazy cards. there are buffs, yes, but it's like 97% nerfs and 3 buffs so does that really count?

im trying to say that the entire premise of the patch is to both nerf literally everything and also make the game "easier" as a PR mask to the stupid shit they are doing. yes, there was a problem with an obscure card that could get stuck on 'straight flush' and yes it needed changing, good job. overall though it's a shitty patch that adds no content, spends time--at best--tweaking a bunch of shit that wasn't broken--feels like it's on a whim--

they fucking slashed the price that you got for selling bugs and also nerfed bugs in general. less bugs. it's like real life, get it? global warming and inflation.

i thought of a patch that was almost as bad: the time nintendo nerfed bug prices in animal crossing...during covd.

i got out when they switched to shorter lifespans for FNM and removed lightning strike and elvish mystic and all that.

also around the time they stopped uploading hi-res card images so the free online version, cockatrice, no longer worked. keep in mind, "cockatrice" didn't program in the MTG rules, it was more like tabletop simulator. you could try out decks before buying cards, and the hobby was still very very expensive.

so yea, fuck them and wizards in general. magic is a great a game, sucks that such a scummy company owns them.

free bad cards don't do shit for the game; the economy was fine and fun.

uncommon, like burnt, which is hard to use but effective are now rare. great, i'll never fucking see it.

the upper levels are totally changed, despite that they provide a great challenge already.

they needed to just buff red and blue deck, add cards, possibly via expansions that can be turned on and off. instead the developer wants to put time and effort into "tweaking" every single goddamn northernlion strategy that's been uploaded to youtube. we've all seen this in games. this is the type of developer who gets mad at people beating his games.

like it's been said--it's a single player game, not some competitive "e-sport"

add a fucking leaderboard if you want it to be competitive. nerf the bosses, buff the card/decks if you want it easier.

I don't see how anyone could look at those patch notes and say the game is going to be easier or more fun. If that's the developer's attitude it's better to jump ship now. there's nothing to be excited about.

add more seals. and more enhancements. add a 5th suit for some runs. add a custom deck creator. add more vouchers. add a texas hold-'em variant, a tarot variant, more new hands, literally anything. this is a huge fucking fumble if the community accepts this bullshit with a tepid smile.

we can read the writing on the wall: they'll "listen" to the community, reverse maybe 10% of the nerf, and throw a huge fucking victory party for themselves while fish-eyed bloggers drool out some facile bullshit about how the system works

it doesn't bode well either for the developer's attitude. it's a fucking card game. what should you do? ADD FUCKING CARDS. like it's not fucking rocket science. none of the cards were busted, but one of the better ones, which gave +4 multiplier to a certain suit, is nerfed to +3 (which means you flush is now +15 instead of +20). it's a standard "reduced fun by 25%" across the fucking board.

i've never been so disgusted by patch notes in my fucking life. and I played WoW for a decade. I played Overwatch for christ's sake. not even the horrible binding of isaac patches come close.

i guess ill disable the updates on steam, finish playing, and then let that be it.
