She always goes to where the fighting is most intense and so they start to listen to her. She becomes a symbol of Divine Favor. She's smart, insane, and understands tactics. She'll eventually end up being the defacto 2nd-in-command on the battlefield. She intuitively understands the nature of cannon warfare, which is new, and how it can be used to breech castle walls (as opposed to lobbing cannonballs over the wall, which was the standard tactic). Instead of doing that she points all the cannons at the castle wall, at a single point, and that works extremely well. When I was caretaker for my friend she had seizures. Sometimes during after she would say had hallucinations. She once said she thought she was in a church. She was pretty devout. Jean was a healthy girl unlike my friend. So she could take actions on what she thought she saw. I'm assuming Jean was religious so she saw what she would have been taught and believed --- I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me.
