Yeah the general population of Derby knew who she was! A poll was taken many years ago in Britain and the top 3 most known game characters known to non-gamers and the general public were 1. Lara, 2. Sonic, 3. Mario Companies have used Lara to advertise products that had nothing to do with her games. Oh no Lara is very well known to the general public here in Britain. Like....the Yakuza series was extremely niche up until Yakuza 0 and LaD catapulted it into the spotlight. Before that I don't think anyone was really talking about it.
