Good song still. Good dynamics, great textures, really nice layering and understated instrumentation. The variety in timbres and percussions help prevent a sense of repetitiveness and Kimbra's verse and background vocals on the final chorus create a wonderful cathartic moment as the song concludes.

Really well crafted song and, while the lyrical content is well-treaded ground, it's approached with a good degree of perspective and insight.

Because it's a morality story about good and evil. Not every piece of fiction needs to represent the complex moral ambiguity of social organizations populated by individuals with their own unique values, motivations, and vehaviors.

Sometimes fiction can just have a Council of Evil that does evil stuff.

No, they boast about hiding loading screens through the exact methods mentioned in this topic to make the gameplay seamless. The game is constantly loading and unloading zones and there is a throughput limit for any computer processing. Graphic/audio loading from or into memory is the one thing that consistently maxes out the throughput limit, although you can still hit a wall with extremely complicated AI scripting as well (Like clicking the Next Turn button in Civilization).

I've said this before and I'll say this again--Yes, I have had my ankles wrapped up in BJJ and Wrestling on many occasions while standing over someone else. I've never had to stomp on their sternum (or any other part of their anatomy) to stop myself from falling over. You usually just... Take a step back with your rear leg and try to pull away from them if you're trying to run away from them. I can assure you they were also putting in a far more concerted effort to trip me than Sabonis was against Draymond, including using their hands instead of their forearms. No, my ankle never magically snapped in half either from the effort.

I don't get dudes who ask this shit like people in real life haven't played sports before. I've played a lot of sports, including ones that actually involve hitting people. I've never had to stomp on another person. It's been really easy to avoid. More so, if I had a choice between stomping on someone or taking a break fall, I would choose the break fall.

Granted, if I wanted to stomp on somebody's chest, I would basically do exactly what Draymond did. Straight up and straight down. It's pretty good stomping technique I guess.

I did not say that guns would have done anything during covid. I simply said look at how the government acted during covid. That alone should be enough to make sure that civilians have the right to defend themselves against a tryranical government. Keep in mind Pogo that the government knew full well the vaccination did not stop or limit transmission. No study ever done has come to that conclusion. It was listed on Pfizer's website on Day 1 for those who were paying attention and did some due diligence. The largest covid studies done in the world (CDC and BMJ and even the Gates funded Lancet organization) never went as far as to say they did.

Wonderful. So if I go and pull up the studies that show that that vaccine both reduces transmission from a vaccinated person and to a vaccinated person, then you will admit you're wrong and shut the fuck up, right?

Probably not, but here we go!

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanepe/article/PIIS2666-7762(21)00127-7/fulltext

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(21)00448-7/fulltext

The earliest studies showing reductions in transmission due to COVID vaccine from Pfizer. The estimates put it around 75%. And yes, the Lancet studies do say it reduces transmissibility. You could have just read the conclusion to them and not have been obviously wrong.

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-022-02138-x

A more comprehensive study showing the vaccine to be effective against the Omicron variant as well.

Now, to avoid just posting another half dozen links and bombarding you with evidence, I will instead explain that I know exactly where your misconceptions arose from and the mistakes you made in reaching a conclusion based on them.

  1. The myth stems from a statement made by a Pfizer CEO that the vaccine was not tested for transmissibility prior to being certified. Why would that be? Testing transmissibility requires much broader and longer-term studies due to the nature of how viruses spread. It was estimated that it would take 3-6 months longer to verify if transmissibility was reduced by the vaccine, which meant 3-6 months of no vaccine on the market still.
  2. But that's a pretty big deal, right? Isn't the point of a vaccine to stop the spread? No. Not all vaccines can stop the spread of illnesses. If we could, then stuff like the Flu would be eradicated by now. But that doesn't mean they can't lower the mortality rate of the illness. It was judged (and rightfully so) that preventing deaths immediately (Which the Pfizer vaccine does very well) was more important than waiting to verify if transmissibility was reduced--Not to improve the vaccine, but just to verify something we would inevitably learn in future anyways.
  3. Future studies showed the vaccine reduced transmissibility substantially, along with the more important issue of mortality. This wasn't particularly a surprise, however. The vaccine was shown to do things we would expect to reduce transmissibility, like reduce viral load and increase the rate of non-symptomatic infections. We just didn't have the evidence to say with a scientific degree of certainty.
What were your mistakes?

  1. Science illiteracy. You do not have the capacity to research and verify scientific studies, nor do you have a foundational knowledge about epidemiology to verify what is quality data and what isn't. That's normal. I would say 99% of the country's population does not understand enough terminology and the scientific process to even properly interpret a Conclusion or Discussion section of a scientific study. Again, that's normal. There's a reason why most researcher's will have a Master's or Doctorate in their field of study. As it turns out, this stuff is extremely complicated beyond either of our comprehensions. Which leads me to my second point:
  2. Ego. Or perhaps arrogance. The arrogance to assume that you even understood what was being discussed by this Pfizer CEO even though you have literally never read a virology textbook in your adult life. Instead of seeking out knowledgable scientists in the field, you instead either reached your own conclusions or, much more likely, read an equally ignorant person's message on Twitter or some stupid discord and took their conclusion as fact. Why would anyone do this? Why would you adopt the opinion of someone who has literally no expertise in a field famous for how difficult it is to understand? That's because:
  3. The fear of testing the depths of your own ignorance, and the aversion to difficult thinking. People like you, conspiracy theorists, bigots, fear-mongers, tend to have a very typical pattern of behavior that demonstrates that above all else you are averse to accepting you know very little. How much virology do you understand, on a scale of 1 to 10? Is your answer a 1? Because if it isn't, then you're lying to yourself. So if you are so ignorant and so afraid of looking ignorant, then why do you adopt the opinions of similarly ignorant people instead of seeking the opinions of the verifiably knowledgeable i.e. scientists? It is because they intimidate you intellectually. Humans have a few predictable responses to fear or anxiety--They flee from it, they have a catatonic response, or they fight it. How does one fight an abstract concept like "something is smarter than me and the world is scary and complex?" You rely on attributing their behavior to something evil. Thus, conspiracies are born. Notice how there aren't any conspiracy theories about good things happening that none of us understand? It's because conspiracies are a coping mechanism developed by certain people to avoid confronting the intimidating nature of complexity.

Given what has happened in the world lately and especially since covid the 2nd amendment is crucial. Just look at what governments got away with during covid. Can you imagine what they would do if they knew no one could defend themselves?
I am literally 100% positive that people owning guns did not change a single thing about America's COVID response considering it was basically identical but slower and dumber compared to most European countries with strict gun control. Oddly enough, countries like Germany, Japan, and France didn't fall to dictatorship and tyranny during the pandemic despite the comparative lack of firepower at the hands of the People--But a great deal less of them died to COVID. How could this be true, though, if guns were so crucial to protecting "American Values"!? And then, when COVID started getting under control and medical facilities could return to normal operating capacities, those crazy authoritarian government orders... Got lifted?!? Without violence and guns?!?!?

Your guns did nothing during COVID and have done nothing for centuries aside from bolster homicide and suicide rates.

Women were allowed at the arenas in Rome. A quick google search could tell you that. However, and I can't stress this enough, the "Roman Empire" spanned 300 years if we're strictly defining it as the period which Rome was the capital. That's like saying women can't vote in America because, for most of it's history, they couldn't. Just like America, Rome (And every other culture on the planet) undergoes drastic cultural and legal changes over the span of literally hundreds of years. It's not particularly useful to think about Roman's, or any historical peoples, as some homogenous unit defined by specific and unchanging practices over centuries.

imagine you're always naked.

A small pork sword means you can run, fight, etc with no issues. A big one flops all over and is begging to get scratched with a tree branch or skinned when you fall or even worse, grabbed or cut y your enemy.

Small pork swords were superior back then

Spoken like a soft man who doesn't even know how to gird his loins.
