Imagine still buying into 70 year old propaganda.

It was a military decision, so it's bizarre to word it that it 'saved' Japan. It hastened their decision to surrender, along with the Soviet Invasion. Zero part of Truman's decision involved 'saving' Japanese people, it was for more favorable surrender terms

Truman was a racist shitbag that just wanted an excuse to kill countless innocent people. Both bombs were completely unnecessary. Fire raids were unnecessary. Any kind of invasion was unnecessary. People that buy into the propaganda are fucking morons

Japanese Emperor Hirohito did not surrender after the first atomic bomb, nor after the second atomic bomb. It wasn't until the Soviet Union declared war on Japan that Hirohito decided to surrender

Nevertheless, there was a coup attempt to prevent Emperor Hirohito from surrendering. The Japanese generals were able to detain Emperor Hirohito for an hour or two before they got enough threats that they let him go

Every thing happened, including terrible, that has happened has gotten our society to where it is today so they are completely justified.

I believe this is correct, they locked him under house arrest essentially. The war would have raged on - and a land invasion would have killed millions upon millions

And even if they wouldn't retaliate, it would lower the bar for them using nukes in their own conflicts. You can guarantee that if America was still nuking people, Russia would've dropped a few in Ukraine by now, for example.

As far ad I see it Japan's high command at the time should have surrendered well over a year prior. Hell they knew the war was lost long before that even condemned a entire generation of men and civilians to their deaths to protect their own hides.

Because I do not see it as a war crime, and in fact would argue quite vigorously that Dresden or Tokyo were much worse from a moral standpoint (not crimes either to me)

Or that our enemies in the war were far far worse on the whole.

I'll agree that Tokyo was worse and that the enemies were worse over all, but those aren't a get out of jail free card.
