I dunno, CDPR seems pretty intent on getting their boy out there lately. First SC6, then Monster Hunter in like two weeks, all through dimensional portal hopping that's canon to The Witcher series.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him portal hop from MH to another game after, possibly Smash. I love the idea of the guy who hates portals getting stuck portal hopping from game to game trying to get home and getting more and more frustrated in the process.

Not originating in a game seems a much larger obstacle, but at this point I feel like that probably doesn't matter that much anymore, especially for a guy who's way better known in gaming than literature.

Soldier is the true trash class, they're boring as fuck to play even if the skills are good to great depending on the game.

Becuase he's an Unsent who Hades pulled out of the Underworld, so his KH arc actually ties into his FFX arc. Prior to this, the closest tie to their source material that the FF characters had was that Tidus and Wakka...um, spent some time on a beach in their game?

Ah you mean the fact that he's already dead... yeah I guess that is the closest to being tied to their character in the actual final fantasy game they're from.

It's not even just that he's already dead, it's heavily implied to happen after the events of FFX, with Hades pulling his soul from the underworld.

All the other FF characters are pretty clearly not the same characters as in the FF games as they're all from Radiant Garden. Auron is the same Auron.

If we're going with characters that aren't typically associated with Nintendo, which seems to be what they're hinting at saying that the other DLC characters are similar to Joker. Dante and the Doom Slayer at least have shown up on Nintendo consoles (Dante barely but roughly as much as Cloud) at least, although I'm not sure that's a requirement really at this point.

Geralt hasn't but CDPR seems to be letting him out to play lately so I could see it. My headcanon is that he fell into SC6 through a portal, left there through another portal thinking he was going home, ended up in Monster Hunter World, then at the end of that he'll go through another portal and end up in Smash, maybe.

Sora is a stretch due to Square being stingy and selfish with their stuff, though. Only two FF music tracks in Ultimate, wtf.

Yeah Matt's definitely been checked out of the LP game for a while and more focused on the scripted stuff on his own channel, and I can agree that both he and Liam would take Pat too seriously sometimes.

Definitely feels like this was planned for a while with how much all three have been branching out lately, especially Woolie going full steam on streaming and starting a podcast of his own about failing at things right before this happened, but I also feel like it wasn't supposed to happen this abruptly.

They cancelled Friday's Fisticuffs (Smash) due to "urgent reasons" and I can't help but think something happened to drop the hammer on this happening now. Pure speculation though, we'll probably never really know what went down and that's ok too.

At least they'll all be doing their own stuff! And I hope without the business side of things in the way Matt and Pat can mend their relationship.

Kind of seems like Pat may have been the common denominator in Liam leaving and now this.

Someone asked Liam on Twitter about the bad blood between Matt and Pat and if Pat was the reason he left, and he said they're not friends and to leave it at that. I like Pat but I can imagine having to deal with him day in and day out would get exhausting.

Hopefully if that's the case Woolie doesn't get pushed away as well, I like their dynamic.

I'd take the appearance of Scott with a grain of salt, they lied a bunch in the Infinity War trailers and straight up included misleading stuff that wasn't in the movie itself so I fully expect it's not what it seems from how the trailer is cut.

I suspect that the dialogue at the end of of AM&W about time vortexes is going to come into play, though. Maybe that's how he gets out.

The VC releases also allow you to turn your shiny Gyarados into a shiny Ditto and then breed it for easy shinies because shininess was genetic back then and you have roughly a 1/64 chance when using a shiny Ditto.

I can agree with this with a few tweaks.

I'd make wild Pokemon battles a thing again. They can appear on the map but battles need to be back in. Catching Pokemon via Go mechanics isn't very rewarding at all and feels boring. It also makes status moves quite unnecessary. On top of that, trainer battles are so easy and reward so little exp compared to catching that they feel pointless. Bring back wild battles and tweak the difficulty and exp gain, especially for catching.

PC access anywhere is nice but it needs to be PC boxes and not one big messy area. Near impossible to sort things the way I'd like to.

Other that that there's a lot to bring forward and meld into the traditional mainline games.

Yakuza 0 is 1988.
Yakuza 1/Kiwami open in 1995 then jump to 2005 due to prison shenanigans.

Majima isn't a villain per se in Kiwami, he's more of a rival type character. He just really likes fighting Kiryu, jumps him after he gets out of prison, goes "Man you suck now, I gotta help you out!" and then proceeds to stalk Kiryu throughout the game continually jumping him to make him stronger. It's how you level the Dragon fighting style in Kiwami. He'll jump out of trash cans, traffic cones, sewers, disguise himself as a hostess, anything to get the drop on Kiryu.

He was more of a clear cut villain in the original Yakuza 1, though.

This song reminds me that I should replay Tokyo Mirage Sessoins at some point. It would be easier if the game wasn't stuck on the Wii U. So few games I care about on that system, just getting everything hooked back up would be a bit of a pain... and since it relied on the Gamepad (err...didn't it?), I seriously doubt it's ever going to get ported anywhere. Which is too bad, since it deserved better than that.

It's unrelated, I know, but the Japanese Idol scene was integral to the plot and themes of that game, so it's not as random a connection as it seems. And I also have nothing to say about the song itself (it's good, but no specifics or other adjectives come to mind), so rambling about TMS is the best I can do. And I don't recall that game vividly enough to even do that.

Oh yeah and the Underoath vocalist is 100% better than Nicky from Nekrogoblikon. Vocals were the hardest sell for me with the Goblins but they're just so entertaining instrumentally that the goblin voice gimmick eventually grabbed me. Even his cleans aren't as good as a lot of other singers, but they're so dedicated to the gimmick that I'm ok with it.

Clean and a quite literal admission of the gimmick...

Oh well, I already had 1.5/2.5 on PS3 and I'm already 2/3 through BBS so I wasn't planning on upgrading so no big deal.

Good for those that still need to get caught up though! They really should drop this on Xbox since KH3 is dropping there and even those who played KH1/2 years ago are gonna be really confused.

We've known this was happening for years now, both due to his contract expiring and him wanting to get out of acting and into directing. We'll probably see the mantle passed to Bucky or Sam.

RDJ is probably done as well, Hemsworth would likely have been done prior to Ragnarok but apparently that reinvigorated the role for him so I expect he'll stick around for maybe one or two more Thor movies.

Put the DOOM 2016 song in the context of sprinting around Mars/Hell as the Doom Slayer murdering thousands of demons and it makes a lot more sense why it's so over the top.

As for Nekrogoblikon...it's hard for me to say no to a band with their own hype goblin. Helps that they don't take themselves very seriously at all.
