Upon further thought, here are two more that I came up with:

- I really like platforming in first-person shooter or FPS-like games. I blame the Turok trilogy on the N64 for this.
- I've tried playing through Final Fantasy X on three separate occasions, and every time I stopped right at about the 10 hour mark when I just could not stomach the unfathomable levels of boredom anymore. Turns out walking in a straight line for 10 hours gets old! I only tried getting through it this many times because the game is so highly regarded by Board 8, and I know JRPGs almost always start off painfully slow. Maybe it does become great, but good god, what I played of this game was awful.

Also agree with some of these ones that have been posted in this topic:

- Wii U was a great console, at the very least from a first party standpoint because Nintendo was knocking it out of the goddamn park
- Most JRPGS are indeed boring
- I kind of agree that Mega Man games suck, though the X games were pretty good from the ones I played and this is maybe just another case of thinking the series is overrated rather than bad. I enjoyed the demo of 11 too for what it's worth, but even that reeks of bad design at some points. For example, there's a part in the level where if you're running forward and jump to the next platform at full speed, an enemy will rush in there and always knock you off. That's objectively bullshit enemy placement.

Bomberman Hero for the N64 is great.

People hated it because it's not a real bomberman but screw that it's a really fun game.

More fun than the actual real one that is Bomberman 64.

Lets not forget that Final Fantasy really was intended to be a one and done game.... but it did so well to merit a Final Fantasy II.

Yeah, I cant really say anything good or bad about FF1. I mean way back when it came out it was probably amazing, but boy did FF2 have a big failure of a stat system. In fairness I never played the NES version of 3, but the DS version sure is terrible.

Not really crazy, but despite growing up with classic games I have no real love or nostalgia for them. Most people here have several favorites from their childhood that they still love today and most of my favorites are games from my late teens and adult life. Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite Mario game despite growing up with the series since the first game. I thought the second Galaxy was worse and I havent played any of the console ones after it since the Wii was the last Nintendo console I got. I followed Pokemon since the first game, but Gen 5 is by far my favorite while 1-2 are the bottom 2 for me. I dunno I guess I just feel like games as a whole have only gotten better and its very hard for me to even go back and play older games.

Link's Awakening is massively overrated.

It's problem is that it's too easy compared to other zelda games of its era. Granted some of the modern ones are easier, but at least they have more complicated puzzles and enemies. LA is simple and devoid of a challenge.

Hmm... I might step up and say Link's Awakening is right behind Zelda 1 in terms of difficulty.

Zelda I > LA > Zelda II >>> ALttP, in terms of difficulty (from the pre-OoT games).

Again, I don't like ALttP that much at all (and I adore Link's Awakening), but no way in hell is LA easier. The Ice Palace alone is harder than anything in LA.

LA had much more complex (hmm, maybe that's not the right word; confusing may be it) dungeons tan ALttP's, which were balanced in comparison.

I need to replay it, but I remember LA's dungeons being rather simplistic! I'm overdue for my first LA replay anyway, so I think after I actually make that happen I'll speak more to it then. At the very least, it's wayyyy easier to die in ALttP, but that's obviously not all of any Zelda game's difficulty.

One of the best games ever is a dumb, gamemaker based freeware action platformer made by a single dude with one of the worst, most self indulgent plots ever.

Let's see...
The original LoZ aged horribly and Twilight Princess was the best game in the series.
Navi wasn't annoying at all.
Sonic peaked with Adventure 2 and 06 could have been good if they didn't rush its production.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a huge step down from the first
Super Paper Mario is the best Mario RPG
Undertale is the best example that a video game can be considered art.
Star Fox Assault was better than 64.
Walking Simulators are a perfectly legitimate genre.
Online multiplayer is rarely fun.
Minecraft is ugly as hell.

Well, I think Battletoads is a much more fun game than SMB3 is, or any NES Mario game, for that matter.

As far as crazy game music opinions, I think "The Sky, the Clouds, and You" from Xenogears and "Reunion" from Final Fantasy VII are two of the best pieces of gaming music out there. Well, maybe not among the VERY best (more like second-highest tier).

MGS2 is the best MGS, 2 > 1 > 3 > 4, with the largest gap between 1 and 3.
Resident Evil 4 ruined Resident Evil
PC gaming before Steam was just as good if not better

hard to think of my own opinions as crazy. about the closest i can get is, i like every 2D Zelda that I've played better than every 3D Zelda and every 3D Mario (except Sunshine) better than every 2D Mario.

1. Dragon Age II is the best game in the series
2. Breath of the Wild's weapon breaking mechanic is one of the best features in the game.
3. Dark Souls (and by extension Bloodbourne) is a good (not great) game series and will probably never release a great game unless a company that is not FROM software does a future game.
4. The FFXIII triology as a collective puts them as the best final fantasy games.
5. The liberties that were taken in the localization of the Neptunia series are generally good choices.

For gameplay I actually agree with you. Tenchu does the stealth deal better than MGS.

Gotta say total package it's hard to feel this way though so I'm not fully on board unfortunately.

FFTA2 is great. (I see people like FFTA, but no one talks about its sequel)
Star Ocean 4 is the best Star Ocean by far (and I HAVE played all 5 of them) Lymle's backstory is actually really interesting. Edge had a good reason to go emo for a bit. And Sarah's voice fits her personality.
Also Star Ocean 5 is average, not the worst thing ever. The combat was interesting and I liked the mystery about Relia. and Feria
I can't get into the Persona Series. Only one I beat was 3. I played 4, but then someone spoiled who the killer was.
Pixels was a good movie. (I know this is for video games, but the movie is about video games.)

Seriously, that game is nearly perfect platforming, and packed with tons of references to Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes.
