(lol "Heart of Anxiety")

lol, yeah... that one always bugged me. And "Dear to the Heart" was always "Holding My Thoughts In My Heart" to me.

but then you've got Provincial Town instead of Parochial Town, and Words Drowned by Fireworks instead of Interrupted by Fireworks, so it kind of balances out!

....except that "Fighting" and "Still More Fighting" were also better song names, ahhhhh w/e.

^ Solid plan! But I think contest purists will be pissed that it gets a bye.... but f*** 'em, honestly.

It'd be the most convenient way to get around the whole "final five" issue, especially if/when it's proven to be the strongest of the 5.

It's skunked all 3 of its opponents so far, which is pretty remarkable... I like that.

Holy crap

Did Angle lose all his titles one by one or was there a convenient "title vacating" scenario like I envisioned?

Also, does this imply Vince Russo and I have the same line of thinking...?

crisis in infinite rings

lol, I guess Brock is like the Anti-Monitor...

I dunno, it's been my hope to see a heel with all but one of the titles, leading to an ultimate "everything or nothing" title match. Like the time after ADR won the Rumble, and he was going to face Kofi at EC in what should have been for Kofi's IC title but wasn't. Imagine he got the IC title, and the tag titles with Broadus Clay, and the US Title off of Daniel Bryan... so much gold. It'd have been his destiny to beat Edge ;(

no im just saying that angle works with him in the other match

Well now you've got the gears turning in my head.

Brock and Tensai get their briefcases, neither cash them in until the fall. Brock fights at Summerslam and then disappears until October or something.

Tensai cashes in, and Brock cashes in at Survivor Series. Then they form a tag team (for some reason) to win the tag titles. They sucker the US and IC title holders into title vs title matches and win their respective titles.

Then in the lead-up to Royal Rumble, Brock turns on Tensai leading to a "titles vs. titles" match at RR, where the winner gets all the losers titles, including their tag title, and Brock wins. So he has all the titles and is a one-man tag team. Cue his easily beating up the Usos, Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd, etc. in the stretch between RR and EC. Also, for good measure, Brock entered and won the Royal Rumble!

The EC winners get title shots on the next Raw and SD following it, not at Wrestlemania, and Brock beats them both. Which leads us to the next Raw, 5 weeks out from Wrestlemania... Undertaker returns to challenge Brock, Streak vs. vacating all his titles. Only probably is the rest of the WM card would look bad... could do Cena/Rock 2 and Punk/SCSA, I guess (if that's physically possible).

Then after WM you can have all manner of tournaments to determine new title winners, and maybe add a Cruiserweight Title to the mix or something.

In typing all that I forgot the Divas title, but honestly, who hasn't.

See, if they'd made Tensai a Mark Henry-esque unstoppable beast that could've worked. And it'd be a nice story like Henry's, getting a world title after so many years in the biz.

Naturally they already botched that possibility soooo yeah. But the dead crowd would be hilarious.

Feigned surprise.

Gen: it really is the emptiest of empty threats. Like there aren't even snipe opportunities. There's overwhelming support for these options I just don't care about or see the appeal of. So, I got nothing. It's just so infuriating when, at the final 15 I had so many things I liked, and in the 10 eliminations since then they're all gone. Sad.

Ziggler needs the briefcase more than ANYONE in either two matches.

Wasn't he just in a PPV ME for the World Title?

Not to mention Del Rio last year...

Why should Christian get the briefcase? I figured Vince wouldn't want to give him another run after last time. Plus he's got the IC title and like I mentioned before, heels historically make better briefcase winners (Cena will be the exception since he'll announce ahead of time that he's cashing it in, cuz he's such a nice guy...)

and if TNA doesn't want to bring in cro cop, have him be part of the UFC stable brock brings in to destroy WWE

also including bobby lashley, ken shamrock, dan severn, and of course chael sonnen

Long have I wanted there to be an arc where a wrestler defeats champions and accumulates championships culminating in an ultimate Wrestlemania match (probably vs. Taker: Streak vs. vacating all the championships he has)

And that man... would be Sonnen. I'd like to see Sonnen with all manner of championship belts ;(

But then the guy presses charges on Del Rio for assault and WWE has egg all over their faces... he can claim his brutality was in self-defence and it wasn't part of the script...

Anyone properly trained in amateur wrestling and jiu-jitsu should be able to manhandle an untrained guy down for a three count without like breaking his arm or busting his face up.

Assuming the guy is untrained.... what if he's not and wins the grappling exchanges?

Now the WWE needs to make this happen. reality era™

But then the guy presses charges on Del Rio for assault and WWE has egg all over their faces... he can claim his brutality was in self-defence and it wasn't part of the script...

If it was Big Show, I can see a hilarious sequence of events where the ref completely ignores blatant disqualifying events, every superstar over 240 pounds comes out from the back and wrestle Big Show to the ground and, like, sit on him and then the ref does the 3 count.

This is the most likely solution, ultimately. Why they would leave immediately after winning makes no sense, but it's the quickest cleanest way to start over.

I thought about that too, but the fact they went so horribly off-script the first time, would they really trust this person to do things right the 2nd time?

That's why they would withhold his pay.

they get paid what, every 2 weeks or every month? Maybe they pull it off knowing full well they won't see those 2 or 4 weeks pay. Or maybe they've already got a new job lined up when their contract is up so they're not worried about it...

I imagine either WWE has the guy get kayfabe injured and have to give up the contract in his next match or he gets put in a match with the briefcase on the line and loses it to the intended person.

in kayfabe, what was the time limit for cashing in? 1 year, or until the next Wrestlemania? Or do they not have that time limit anymore? The kayfabe injury would have to be kayfabe career ending... which actually would work really well, good call.

You could apply that logic to any match

What if this guy just decided to win the Royal Rumble and rolled out of the ring until #30 was up, for instance

If everything in the Rumble is determined ahead of time, and I assume there's a crew of people watching it as it goes down, then someone would notice an under-the-rope roll-out when there shouldn't have been... so they'd still have like, upwards of an hour to fix it. They could tell every wrestler before they go out that so-and-so needs to get back into the ring. The guy that rolled out, where would he hide to kill the time? If he's just sitting on the floor next to the ring then you can get a bunch of wrestlers to force him back in or something.

Alternatively, when someone makes their entrance and the camera shot is on the entrance person, you can have someone on commentary say "Oh and while we were focused on this new entrant, so and so was eliminated". And then that's it, they're gone.

..... maybe that's what they'd do with the ladder match. They'd claim that whoever won did something illegal before winning and as a result they were disqualified from the match and they're going to redo it.

From: Rad Link 5 | #301
From: XIII_rocks | #300
You could apply that logic to any match

And I have done that!

I sort of assume that, in this case, they'd have him defend his suitcase the next night against someone who wants it, and lose in the ugliest way possible. And then someone would spit on him and the GM of the week would announce he's fired for being such a sorry loser. Also they probably would withhold his paycheck.

I thought about that too, but the fact they went so horribly off-script the first time, would they really trust this person to do things right the 2nd time? What if they forget technicalities and just make it a normal one-pinfall match for the contract, and the guy that's supposed to lose gets DQed or counted out so they, technically, keep the contract? What if they refuse to get pinned so there's a real, brutal physical confrontation going on a live episode of Raw (like Jeff Hardy vs. Sting is Hardy was on bath salts instead of whatever he was on)? Would they cut to commercial and just say the guy was pinned during the commercial break? I guess that's what they'd do...
