I've used it on and off for about four months. Various ant colonies migrate around the house, so I keep the bait when they inevitably find their way inside. You're right. It works, and I also like how they drink it, leave and are not seen again. With stuff like Raid spray, there's often a mess to clean up and they're obviously not taking it back to their nests.

It's kind of something like Catholics with church on Sunday. It's not required. They'll tell you it is, but usually don't enforce it. If they do enforce it, they're usually assholes.

I never understand that thinking. Following a group's policies, doctrines, traditions, whatever is kind of the whole point of being in that group in the first place. They are advocating an ideology, a way of living your life. If you refuse to follow it, that's perfectly fine to me, but then it makes no sense to say you are a member of that group. Granted, you might fail in upholding that ideology (as humans are known to do), but the group is supposed to push (or pull) you into finding your way back onto the "right" path. Calling them assholes for doing that makes it seem like you don't understand what that group even stands for.

This falls apart when you realize that religions, including Islam, have multiple sects and they have differing beliefs/interpretations.

Sure, but the example was Catholics. That's a specific denomination of Christianity, with its own doctrines, traditions and hierarchy of leadership. If we are just talking about groups in general, then I agree with you that there could be various subgroups that deviate from their parent group. Islam, like Christianity, is like that, but if you're not going to follow the teachings of Sunni Islam, for example, then it wouldn't make sense to call yourself a Sunni Muslim.

If that happened to some of the guys I used to hang out with, the guy doing the prank would probably be dead. They wouldn't even tolerate a gay guy making a pass at them, so I'm not sure how I would be able to talk them out of doing something very violent, even with the obvious legal consequences.

Jolie, who directed the film, said the audition “game” described in the profile was an improvisation exercise based off a scene in the film. She also said real money was not taken from children during the auditions.

“I am upset that a pretend exercise in an improvisation, from an actual scene in the film, has been written about as if it was a real scenario,” said Jolie, a United Nations special envoy for refugees. “The suggestion that real money was taken from a child during an audition is false and upsetting. I would be outraged myself if this had happened.”

If I'm understanding the article, police aren't being banned from attending in uniform but rather they are being asked not to march in the parade in uniform. I still don't agree with it, but that's a big difference.

The only reason why the police are being asked is because the pride group does not actually have the authority to keep the police out, or at least not in uniform. The police could just be blunt and tell them to shut the fuck up and that they will not kowtow to any group, no matter what that group represents and what their agenda might be. Instead, the police, maybe because they are Canadian, are being cool about it and will still support them by complying.

Nope, it's not irony. Trump, at least to my knowledge, has not called Huckabee a beauty, nor has anyone else said it. If he (or anyone else) had said, Sarah Huckabee could win the Miss Universe pageant or Sarah is better looking than Ivanka, then that would be irony because anyone can see the statement does not match reality. No one has said anything like that. At most, I've heard people say it's wrong to make fun of her looks and people have called Trump an asshole for objectifying women.

irony
noun, plural ironies.

1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning:
the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.

2. Literature.
a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated.
(especially in contemporary writing) a manner of organizing a work so as to give full expression to contradictory or complementary impulses, attitudes, etc., especially as a means of indicating detachment from a subject, theme, or emotion.

I don't automatically respect or even care about other men I meet because I understand that we are competing for the same resources. To no surprise, there are no threads on CE about why men should stop hating other men. You know why? Because we don't treat other men as if they need a white knight. They are simply our competition. Now that we have done away with traditional gender roles, women are our competition as well. They don't need you thought policing and shaming men for treating them the same way we treat other men.
