Why do people act like the left is the party of social justice crusaders?

Civ4 just has far more interesting strategic decisions to make compared to 5, to me. The complaint about combat in the older Civ games seems a bit strange to me since the Civ games are not about combat - that's merely one facet of the games and not the whole package. Then again lots of people probably do play the Civ games mostly to fight so what do I know?

Honestly I don't even think Civ5's combat is a whole lot better than 4's. I don't even necessarily know if it's better in the first place. You can read some of Sullla's writings on the subject if you want to know more, but being honest, I don't think Civ5 is a bad game. I'd say it's like a 6-7/10 while 4 is an 8-9/10 one. Also I haven't played Civ4 in a while (though I'm watching Sullla streaming the game every Friday), but most of the time I try to play Civ5 I get bored pretty quickly.

I'm mostly just trying to back up my own statement though, not shaming you for liking Civ5! At least I hope that's what gets across.

I liked what I played of God of War 1 but I got stuck somewhere late in the game and I never returned.

We've heard many people theorize over the last 4 years that Comey announcement that he was reopening the investigation of Hillary's emails caused that 3 point boost. Well, I've always been skeptical of that. I think it's more that many people didn't want to admit (to others or themselves) that they were going to vote for Trump. But during the last week, there was no more time to put off the decision by remaining uncommitted and they were forced to look at their options - and conclude that the Republican was better on policy.

Heh I figured it was mostly people deciding at the last minute to vote for Trump because they decided Hillary Clinton has too much baggage.

I want to mention I despise how the jet ski handles in Crash 3. Feels like early Mario Kart bad. In the non-Time Trial missions I just started and stopped most of the time, but when I had to keep my speed up you bet there was loads of trouble.

The driving missions also feel like a poor man's Mario Kart.

I got the Gold Relic in the last waterboarding level in Crash 3, but it took me like an hour.

Got a few more gems, then got so upset about missing the gem in Orange Asphalt (a racing stage) by two boxes I quit in frustration.

I beat Cortex in Crash 3, but an unfulfilling ending and not even being at 40% completion tips me off that something's up. I decided to comb some of the levels I didn't get the gems in for them, only to get precisely one gem in 10+ levels. At least I managed to clear all those levels again without a Game Over though.

Another five levels down in Crash 3. I got to Cortex, but I KNOW there are five more levels and anyway it's clear Uka Uka is the main villain, not Cortex.

Five more levels in Crash 3 + Dr. N. Gin down! The most amusing part was when I broke all the boxes in Sphynxinator but forgot to get the gem because I was in a hurry (there were walls closing in together right behind me, you see).

Can't say I'm a fan of some of the alternate gameplay styles though. The biplane level feels like a half-baked version of Star Fox 64, complete with barrel rolls.

I finished the three levels I couldn't get past last session, although I missed a lot of boxes in all three and Road Crash took a while - good thing you don't lose lives for failing races! Feels dumb that a not-so-great racing minigame is mandatory to completing the game though, all in the name of gameplay variety.

I defeated Dr. N. Brio pretty easily after that, and having gotten so many lives in the process of my many attempts at Road Crash, I decided to try to make use of my new ability to glide by pressing the tornado button multiple times and threw all those lives away in the process of trying to get past a single chasm early in Sphynxinator. I did keep a save from beforehand (and after defeating Dr. N. Brio) just in case though.

Actually I had beaten the level "Piston It Away" and completely forgot that I did somehow. This is what happens when you watch a movie right afterwards to assuage frustrations with how your gaming session went.

Yesterday evening I easily beat "Night Fight" despite having trouble with early jumps in the previous session. After that I proceeded to finish "Spaced Out" (the level name was something with Space in the name if I'm not remembering right) which was more of an ordeal due to some tricky enemy placement but I managed. I was left with only one life left, so I gave the final boss a try, failed, and decided to stop for the day.

I see myself returning to Crash 2 FAR sooner than I do 1, to put it bluntly.

I cleared the two rocket stages in Crash 2, but the other three final stages continued to give me trouble. I did get further in "Piston It Away" (honestly really like these punny level names though!) though, and I might have gotten even farther if I didn't lose a life because I didn't know how to defeat a certain enemy.

I'm one of those guys who has a crap ton of nostalgia for 3D platformers and am glad they're undergoing a resurgence.

I beat the level "Cold Hard Crash", as well as "Totally Fly" with the caveat that I have no idea how to break the six metal boxes before finishing the level. I lose the firefly pretty fast and then I'm completely in the dark.

The levels "Ruination" and "Bee-Having" continued to give me trouble, but it seems those are two of the most notoriously difficult levels in the game so that's...good to know. The latter level makes me think of Nicolas Cage for obvious reasons.

Two more stages in Crash 2 done, and Cortex was not kidding when he said the levels were getting harder!

In the stage "Hangin' Out", I found a secret passage that warped me out of the level after some slightly tricky grate climbing and unlocked a stage with the gimmick of fireflies. After trying this stage and the three other stages I haven't beaten yet and getting Game Overs, I decided to go back to Hangin' Out to see what the rest of the level was like. That's all I really have to say.

Four more stages in Crash 2 done. With one level I finished without getting the Purple Crystal because I took a side-path that skipped it, necessitating for the first time me having to finish the level twice. In between I found the level named "Un-Bearable" to live up to that title and then some, though I still finished it. And then after that and replaying the earlier ruins level, I promptly got beaten by Tiny Tiger.

Also really liking this game's music. Something about it feels like it characterizes Crash as being even edgier than Sonic, but without going too far in that direction or making it the whole point.

I finished Crash Bandicoot 1 and proceeded to immediately finish the first five levels + boss of Crash 2. I THINK I slightly prefer Crash 2 so far, but both games are similar enough mechanically to the point it's close.

The final boss of Crash 1 gave me more trouble than it should have but once I stopped being a klutz it felt anti-climactic. And regarding Crash 2's "plot", I do know what's going to happen already but even if I didn't I highly doubt I'd be fooled by Cortex's apparent alliance with Crash. This seems like another "villain tricks hero into getting stuff for him" plot, and I can now think of at least FIVE well-known games released in 1997-1998 alone that did this: the other four being Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Ocarina of Time, and Sonic Adventure. Why was this such a popular plot device?

Mainly, the economy, but also the Democrats' refusal to change a thing from their losing strategy in 2016. Voters usually don't take well to a party that is rebuked at the polls and does nothing to change course.

To be fair Republicans are dead set on the Democrats trying to destroy the nation with their social justice antics so what's the point in changing just to appease to them?

Anyway yeah, Biden isn't someone who has been a fixture of American politics for 20+ years.

You mean "nothing"? This is a man who when asked if he had asked for forgiveness from God, said that he hadn't because he had never made any mistakes in his life.

No he has not. He has done and said horrible things, but obviously it didn't impact his career or image one iota.

People like Trump are literally the reason the #metoo movement exists. Probably the best thing to come out of his administration really.

I kept hearing about how the polls are narrowing and have started feeling depressed about this election. Still think Biden pulls it out but would hardly be surprised either way. Trump's core won't abandon him, but the people who voted for him last election as the "lesser of two evils" probably will and that's what I'm banking on.

I mean of course Russia tried to influence the Brexit referendum. The US and UK have influenced other countries' internal politics for like centuries. They, and the EU, are still doing so today. It's really emblematic of nationalistic exceptionalism to act like the US/UK somehow have a right not to be influenced by other countries.

If Russia was stuffing votes, that would be a very different thing, but if it amounted to running ads on Facebook, it's not a big deal and doesn't make the outcome of the vote less legitimate.

Good to know you're in favor of the US and UK effectively becoming Russian puppet states.

Not entirely sure if I said this before, but I don't even consider the execution of the sequel trilogy bad, more just half-hearted. People also act like the franchise is in an even more dire state than it is, when at worst it just went from being THE big franchise to just another big franchise. The DCEU and Sony Pictures in general are in bigger shambles than Lucasfilm is IMO.
