He has no real achievements, he has no friends, most people are apathetic at best and the rest dislike him. He groomed a pre-teen before making her his gf and now flew a supposedly crazy woman across the country to be his wife, nobody wants to sponsor him, he constantly burns bridges and hates his job, he has no real fans, most people like to troll him.

He's nearly 40 and looks 20 years older. He has poor health and gout. He's bad at his job and can never take criticism and improve.

I feel like if they moved events around it would have been better for story and pacing.

Imagine you start off in abby's flashback, leading up to the hospital deaths which is followed by Joel's version of the events to really drive it home.

If they started off with making the player try to sympathize and get to know abby it would have been better imo.

I think they should have started the game with abby and her dad then transition to Joel telling the story to Tommy, just to solidify her place in the story quickly.

Why should it be up to a civilian to be perfect when dealing with cops and not the other way around?

Hell, you should be able to go as far as to yell abuse in their face and they won't be allowed to touch you, only calmly de escalate. That's the standard they should be held to.

I am adamant that if pacing issues were resolved and parts were shuffled around the game would be much better.

They could have put abby's flashback at the beginning, then show Joel and Ellie happy to start it off and set the scene. It could swap the days between Abby and Ellie instead of one after the other, add the Joel flashbacks much earlier too.
