Everyone focused on the first half of what she said but she basically said "half of Trump's supporters are bigots and Trump has given a voice to them, but the other half is people who feel the government and society have let them down and they want sort of change, and we need to empathize with that group"

That is true if she stopped speaking 1 minute in. The second half of her statement is what makes it reasonable in a bipartisan government.

Still have no idea how they thought following up change you can believe in with a Clinton was a good idea. Especially when the opposing candidate pretty much co-opted Obama's successful campaign messaging of trying to shake up Washington.

Seems like an obvious bad idea in retrospect

They thought Trump was an easy target. I know a few Republicans that voted for Hillary. They underestimated how much people were tired of politicians and wanted to see the world burn.

I always laughed when Trump supporters would say stuff like "proud deplorable!!!" as if she said all supporters were deplorable. By saying that they were basically admitting they were bigots.

Trump attracted some of the worst people in america to support him. There isn't a "good" trump supporter.

I differentiate between a trump supporter and voter.

I've never encountered a trump supporter IRL or online that came off as a reasonable, intelligent person and further everyone I have encountered has expressed some form of bigotry.
