SFV is really, really weak, yeah. I'd take SF6 over that, no problem.

I don't think BG3 is that close to Zelda, but I guess we'll see.

Yeah, to me, Pikmin wrecking everything else in this poll (except Armored Core VI, which should also be telling, I guess) is what's making me think this isn't a good field.

Does it? This is a noticeably worse field than what Zelda faced. Give me SF6 and Diablo IV pretty handily over everything here except I guess Pikmin 4.

TLOU was a weird experience for me. It took me forever to get through the first third of the game because I didn't think it was very good. Then I got hooked until the ending, which soured me on it and made me not even want to play TLOU2.

Recasting is always awkward, especially for a prominent character, because the characters all have to act like it's the same guy but it's clearly someone different, but the MCU has done it before, so I'd imagine that's what will happen.

well SMRPG did beat RE4 in the 2015 Games Contest so I guess I can't discount its chances entirely

Snake could've had a real shot in 2013 if not for Draven in a Link/Snake/Samus final. People forget because of Draven, but that was probably the weakest Link we've ever seen. Snake got 46.52% on Link 1-on-1 in a bonus match after the 2013 contest ended.

I imagine Samus gets obliterated like she did in Snake/Draven and that may have been enough for Link to still win, but Snake has had two nearly legendary finals performances regardless.

Snake led Link for 6 hours (although the lead never eclipsed 200) and led Cloud by as many as 3700 votes. Pretty sure he's the only non-joke/rally character who can make either of those claims.

All right, I played the opening segment of C's Route in Act 3.

I like the deep dive into Rufus's psyche here. I've always found him a really interesting character, so if this is an attempt at a redemption arc, I'm all for it (although he denies he's looking for redemption and has accepted that he's essentially a sociopath, someone who feels nothing for others except for how he can use them for his own benefit).

He says his goals are to take out his impostor (we already know there's an Artifact that lets you take on another person's appearance, if I recall correctly) and settle a past debt. Rufus does feel a certain responsibility to Crossbell for his own past actions as well as the current actions of his impostor.

I think Rufus essentially confirmed my theory by saying he doesn't intend to do the heroes' work for them, but rather he intends to clear the path for them to do what needs to be done. I like his line here when he says, "No need to imitate what has already been perfected."

Later on, Rufus and Lapis have a heart-to-heart about what it means to be human, which gets him thinking about his own identity crisis. His life has felt aimless and meaningless, and despite his attempts to find his purpose by following Osborne, that all fell apart when he was bested by Jusis, who had surpassed him as a man despite his disadvantages. It's kind of refreshing to hear all of this in Rufus's own words because he deliberately kept himself at a distance emotionally from everyone else in the Cold Steel games.

You know, of all the weird pictures we had late in this contest, I don't hate this one.

Aw yeah Zeit is back to resume his duties as police dog! Fighting off Garcia and Cao together was a pretty cool fight, and Rixia is finally confronted with the fact that Ilya is the brainwashing dancer (who may also be brainwashed herself? I guess we'll see!). We're also reunited with the Gralsritter trio.

Oh yeah, I guess I should ask who everyone got for their first Golden Sphere unlock. I ended up with Roselia first, which doesn't seem too bad of a first draw!

man it's annoying when you finish the fight on the 41st turn when you need to finish in 40 turns for the bonus and the only reason you couldn't finish in time was because Lloyd was put to sleep without you realizing it before you waste a turn augh

I've played Edith Finch and I didn't get that one
