I JUST finished the Mugen Train movie actually, I loved it a lot. Its story is pretty simple, I'm not watching it for the brain twisting narrative or plot twists or anything like that. Basic story with the fun cast and absolutely banging ost and animation.

I dropped Jouran, too. I like the music and the art style but plot-wise, it was kind of...so-so. Especially in terms of plot twist whiplash. I'll peek on it at the end of the season to see if people say it gets better, but otherwise I'll sit out.

Also dropped Tokyo Revengers, solely from the art style rubbing me the wrong way. TIL I can be a shallow ho.

Yeah Yang was my favorite as well. One of my favorite anime characters overall actually. I was just curious because I see a lot of Empire fans who think Reinhard was the coolest and also think Yang was lame and/or overpowered. It seems to be split 50/50.

I'd say he's one of my favorite fictional characters overall as well. I'd fight anyone who calls my man Yang lame. :'(

Who was the best LOGH character to you? Everyone always seems to take a clear side between the Empire characters or the FPA characters.

The straight up best for me is Yang. I feel that might be a common answer though, so I'll name a few secondary favorites. Olivier, Julian, and Mittermeyer. I can't say I don't lean towards the Alliance cast.

Patlabor was pretty good I haven't really gotten into mecha anime, or anime that's this classic aside from Legend of the Galactic Heroes, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it. It has a great cast and I'm looking forward to the movies and the reboot series.

The episode itself was better than the first one, just due to it not going sicko mode on the pacing lol. I'm enjoying the characters and the shamisen performances a lot. Still getting Kono Oto vibes, so if you liked that you'd probably like this one, too.

I have Vivy ep 3 (hype!) and 86 ep 1 to watch here in a bit, too. 86 I've heard a lot of great things about from LN fans, but I'm trying to keep expectations in check.

I decided to catch up on a couple shows I was a few eps into and dropped a year or two back. Finished Wave, Listen To Me! and enjoyed it a lot, enough to add it to my manga list (which I recently started Land of the Lustrous. RIP S2 lol). Started Hinamatsuri today and that's been going well, too. Both shows have some good comedy going for them with fun characters.

I'm now halfway into the first season of Kaguya-sama, and the English dub seriously saved this show for me. The change in the narrator's style was a huge step up for me (god bless Ian Sinclair) and the voice acting and English script are amazing too. I'd say my favorite segments so far are the "make the other people say their forbidden word" game, Shirogane's volleyball lesson, and (where I got the screenshot I used above) the umbrella scene.

I'm glad you decided to give it another shot thanks to the dub and that you're able to get into it! One of the media that legitimately made me cry a few times from laughing so much, I love it a ton.

Was there any gory stuff in Joran? I was interested in that show, but there's a chance that it might be too much for me, so I figured I would ask first.

There's blood, but you don't see any actual damage or cut skin or anything. The style the show is in helps with that I think, in a way that combat is taken seriously but not in a way that makes one go "oh, gross :l" or something. For episode 1 anyway. I'll keep watching it and I'll let you know if it changes.

I'm saving up my pulls for a later banner but at the same time, that leaves me with one decent team. making a second and third time of MID characters feels like a waste of resources but then I get frustrated not being able to participate properly in clan or the princess arena.

Arena feels like it's been more rough for me ever since the R8 update lol. Part of it is on me, since I only do one refresh a day so I can do my hard shard farming in the Event and normal stages and barely have any left to do equipment grind.

It's nice to finally do an event, too, and I'm psyched I've been able to do all the content. The Hard boss takes two attempts, though. x.x
