Some really pretty action scenes and just beautiful looking moments in the last quarter. Honestly the last quarter of the movie is the best part imo. That's why I'm always excited for LNs or Manga I read to someday get anime adaptations so that those who refuse to read can experience there glory as well. Then having it visualized with with some good VAs and an OST is a much appreciated plus as well. It's funny since you're reasoning for not liking anime with other source materials is the same reason I like em. I like not waiting 5+ years for a series to never finish. The existence of Manga and LNs won't stop studios from trying to get creative and produce their own original stuff. I'm not disappointed that it's originally an anime. Jeff AKA Snoopy 04/27/21 8:12:06 PM #427:	My wife and I were talking about how we don't get the adoration, at all, for either Shield Hero or Demon Slayer. Both seem really mundane. Demon Slayer is pretty for sure but it is kinda lacking in terms of being anything better than average. Shield Hero is downright insulting in its narrative and basically exists on the idea of, "What if everyone in this world was stupid as hell and this made our protagonist angsty as shit?" At least Demon Slayer is competent and pretty which is more than we can say for Shield Hero... but Demon Slayer now basically being the number one anime around is just bonkers to us. Note - I've HEARD that the anime for Demon Slayer will likely improve into the second season but it annoys me to praise something on the premise that it will be better. Note 2 - I'm sorry if our opinion annoys you, but I would really like to know what it is about either that really captivated you. Most of things you can critique Demon Slayer for you can do the same for the other big ones like My Hero or JoJo's but most people don't because it's so much easier to just set that stuff aside and enjoy it for what it is. It's got a good premise, great pacing, nicely animated, great soundtrack, etc. Yeah, it's pretty clichd, but it's still fun to watch. Aside from a character or two, it's got an enjoyable cast. I remember him telling me Zenitsu was the best character. When I got to Zenitsu's first scene I was like "dude, are you serious?" Also yeah I'd agree Demon Slayer was mostly unremarkable in its content, however something about it drew me in. Decent arc though, they did a good job in making him actually seem like a threatening villain since he beat Ken once. I wonder what's left at this point. I'm guessing some filler/minor villains, then Raoh? Yup it's from the manga as well but... The best way to describe it is like what happened to DBZ. Author has an ending in mind, popularity and editorial wanted a continuance. There's definitely a sharp decline in quality and some leaps in logic regarding some different characters' backstories. I've starting to think that CLAMP really wanted to make a BL anime but no one would take their idea, so they went to Bushiroad and worked out a way to disguise a BL anime as a card game anime... and that's how we got Vanguard OverDress. I'm not really feeling this show at all, so I'm dropping it. Blue Reflection Ray is on thin ice as well. I mean it's not like Vanguard as a whole is a stranger to BL bait in the first place, even tho they'll still frequently pose hetero relationship and keep it vague for the sake of both side of the audience. Aichi and Kai or Kai and Ren have always had... a lot of materials, let's say, something I notice as a byproduct of being too lazy to filter correctly, and it's not without some push from the way the series is written. Either way, if it's the same writing staff, it's gonna be entirely baiting. The closest they got to an actual relationship was with Aichi and Kourin in the original series' Legion arc, and the conclusion to that one was that Kourin went back to losing her memories, and frankly they somehow managed to develop Misaki and Kourin's yuri bait thing more in that same arc. Dunno how they handled the whole Aichi/Misaki/Kourin triangle thing in the reboot though, but in the original, it was actually a part of the story, not something ppl read too hard into. Also I'm a bit behind. I've really not been in the anime watching mood, and if I do other things while watching, then I'm only gonna catch maybe 20% of the story. Pretty understandable to drop it if it's not what one might've been expecting of the series. Vanguard has had some serious expectation disturbing disappointments before lul. The G series had this idol chick literally completely ruin the life of one of the main characters, and they have this massive arc where they clear up misunderstandings and hard feelings... and then the next season it's like they've never even met.
