Nightmare hasn't had an impact on normal difficulty yet. Most people on reddit suggest ignoring nightmare actually since only completing normal chapters increases the level cap & has recruitable heroes.

So Future Knight is pretty fun. I got her with my saved up 12K gems, then ticketed her weapon. Sadly I don't think she fits in too well with the team I'm using, which is FK/Lupina/Tinia/Beth. At the very least I can get a team combination skill when I get Beth and FK to 5 stars, but the chaining isn't that good, since it can only go FK > Beth > Lupina/Tinia.

Ok... so... I blew 17000 gems, I think ultimately some around 20000 gems.

I didn't get FK, but something bizarre happened, which was... one of my full pulls giving me an Alef and a Bianca in a row. That prompted me to just ticket for FK and blow the rest on the weapons. Main reason for this is that if I get FK here, I get the 15 unique heroes necessary to pass guardian lvl 250, only for me to get stuck on 275 lol. I don't fulfill either of the reqs, so that was a bit of a bummer.

Well guys I tried that Princess game but I already lost interest. It just isn't for me. Gonna stick to ToC, though. Tons of games coming out soon that I will invest in such as Diablo 2 Remastered, Monster Hunter Rise and Saga Frontier Remastered.

I literally play gacha games and console games simultaneously sometimes. Last night I had an almost 2 hour gaming session where I was starting new raid battles in Tales Of Crestoria in between Zombies rounds in Black Ops: Cold War. It's all about time management.

Holy crap it's actually almost March huh. Once MH Rise comes out, I'm pretty sure my gacha games are gonna go on full maintenance mode, aka daily and literally nothing else

Meanwhile, it feels like it's been a while since there was an event rift in GT. Lvl 70 just feels very doable now, especially since they had the courtesy of making the enemies dark type lul

This. I send my echelon 2 spaces up to auto Hellfire Vectors map 6 times a day for the points. Im usually playing some game while playing my friends in BBTAG also, since we play at about the time Guardian Tales/GFL/TAC resets. So if I get hit by one of Seths longass Captive Segment loops I can go and do something in one of those other games :<

So I did rough math, and Im depressed. Im grinding 8-4 for IB vanguard experience for Mainz, and its likely gonna take around 1,000 battles to get that 3 million exp. Getting 705 with Eugen and that chick with the horns, but Heinrich will always get MVP and get 1410 exp. So 3 million divided by 2115 per fight :<

But that doesnt account for the slight extra from the boss

Wait I mathd wrong. That would be like 1400 fights, even if I wasnt at 18%. Im gonna sit down and look at this when I can...sit down. And am not walking.

I'm doing a PR grind (a few map runs a day) for Gascogne and I'm racing through the two-million prerequisite. My backline is Graf Zeppelin/Bismarck/Tirpitz and Bismarck gets 2000+ XP pretty much every fight on 10-4. If you're having an annoying time, though, maybe try a grind where you can utilize ships that give XP bonuses, like Amazon, Houshou, etc.

11-2 is the longest one. I loved it although I kinda wish there was more story info in it.

Although on the bright side, I now have enough points to start on FdG. I was amassing all the Iron Blood points for Mainz and overshot it since I've been pulling for Tirpitz on the heavy banner but have been getting random IB ships lol.

Well the first 2 corridor levels weren't too bad. I just used Eugene and just bypassed a bunch of fat dudes to kill the laser guys, and Gabrielle cleansed the poisons (I think?). I admit the 2nd one took 2 tries, cuz I didn't know who to really focus, but yeah Eugene's ability to just bypass enemies barf really makes a difference.

I still remember World 5 without a 3* unit being exceptionally brutal, so this is nothing much so far

But ok, so I guess the infamous corridor was the 2nd one. I can definitely tell some teams are going to get massacred. Eugene is just perfect for these types of 4-5 asshole units hiding in the back sorta levels.

Okay, so I crunched the numbers for real and took everything into account. The stats for 8-4

Total enemies: 11 (including 2 cargo ships)
(64 oil x 11 battles) + (15 oil for subs x 5 battles) + 10 oil stage start
Total oil used = 789

3 battles gave 2,584
5 battles gave 2,820
1 cargo battle gave 2,584
1 cargo battle gave 2,352
Boss gave 3,412
Total vanguard experience = 13, 752

Total coins = 242

Meaning if everything were the same, to get all 3 million experience, I would need to wipe that stage 218.15 times, for a god damn 2,400 battles costing 172,002 oil D:

But if we look on the bright side, I'm 21% into the first million. Meaning I need roughly "only" 2,790,000 experience. Which means 202.87 clears, 2,232 battles, and 160,064 oil...

I want to cut down on the main fleet to conserve oil, but I'm afraid that the AI is too stupid to win fights. I mean I had to manual the boss because they let the flagship get sunk the first time <_<

Just seeing how much oil that wastes is depressing :<

If you're only just on world 8, and have to manual to not die, you shouldn't be that worried about grinding PR exp. PR grind is a long term goal and part of the end game for Azur Lane, and it really doesn't sound like you're there yet. So it'll be done when it's done, and it's unlikely you can spare the cubes and coins for building them yet anyways (Mainz will be 20k coins and 5 cubes, FdG is 60k coins and 10 cubes).

Just to note, your strategy of full clearing the map with a single fleet is actually really inefficient. You shouldn't be full clearing maps except once for the appropriate star rank. Just clear enough mobs so that the boss spawns and you can reach it. Yes, there is a small oil cost to re-enter the stage each time, but you won't be fighting half of the time with a fleet that only does 50% damage because they are out of ammo, which may be why you have to manually fight the boss. You can pick the battles that give the most exp, and will be able to get more exp per oil overall because you'll be fighting the boss more often, which always gives the most exp.

Also, enemy spawns are random, not fixed, and it's the fleet size that affects the exp gained, not the type of fleet. Fleet size is seen by the number of triangles that are on the enemy fleets upper left corner, and dictates how long the fight is going to be. Going off of your numbers above, you probably had 5 large fleets (3 triangles), 4 medium fleets (2 triangles) and a small fleet (1 triangle) spawn the time you calculated your exp. Since enemy sizes and fleet types are random, you won't necessarily get the same spawns the next time you run the map.

Sorry, but I'm the GrayStillPlays of gachas. Once I have a goal set, I won't stop until I achieve it, no matter how impractical or impossible it may be. Neptune was my first serious target and I got her quite a while back (probably around world 5?) and she's level 110 now on the third stage of her fate simulation. Granted, I used up all 300 of my catch up blueprints, but I hope that action serves as a barometer of how stupid I'll be and how much favoritism affects the effort I put towards getting certain waifus.

I have 80+ cubes, so they won't be an issue, and I just figure in the time I spend grinding I'll be getting some coins via commissions and whatnot. I'll just keep doing heavy pulls for the dailes in hopes of getting Tirpitz while I'm at it.

That thing about killing off the boss ASAP is good to know though; I wish it had dawned on me sooner :<

Arena feels like it's been more rough for me ever since the R8 update lol. Part of it is on me, since I only do one refresh a day so I can do my hard shard farming in the Event and normal stages and barely have any left to do equipment grind.

My first paragraph wasn't really about that. It was mostly a reaction to your 'all that oil wasted' comment. The oil is going towards a short-term goal of leveling your current fleet so you can do harder maps, and towards the long term goal of PR grinding. That's not a waste of oil, that's what it's supposed to be used for, and there's no reason to get depressed about it. I probably could have worded the first paragraph better.

I did miss that you'd done the grind for Neptune before, but your post kind of came across as a typical 'why does PR take so long' newbie post that I used to see on Reddit, so I was trying to explain why you shouldn't worry about it taking so long.

Nah, I know full well that PR is supposed to take long. I was just wondering how long, if I chose to continue my current path

I guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuess? Maybe if they ever release more than a 1* robot then you can go over 3hr 50mins and still have a chance at getting one. The only real tag where going too long means you won't get it though, unless you're aiming for a specific unit.

I'm at a complete mental warfare in terms of what I should be using my gems on. This event has 4 costumes that I really freaking want with all my might, and since they're valentines themed, I don't think they're coming back any time soon... But I still want to try to roll for Cosmic Destroyer...

Non-Bulin? You can use Bulins to upgrade Shinano -- they just have to be the special kind from that special store. Last time, I got a ton of dupe Shinanos, so buying those Bulins wasn't even necessary. As for the future, I'm sure they'll release more.

Yeah she is. As far as I know, there hasnt been any word as to when the next one is. Probably have a few more months.

It took me the full 200 pulls to get her unfortunately, so Ive had to use the bulins or more correctly will, if I ever get around to it.

It's horrible. Filled with disconnects, lag, and people who die to the first laser. Most groups that make it to the Ancient Demon die to the first attack. They need to consider ways to hurt people that don't turn the strategy into "bring FP for invincibility or die"
