I won't lie, right now I'm mostly doing 40 minutes on the treadmill and then maybe 15 minutes upper body with dumbbells 4 times a week.

Jhirard would not have been willing to give an interview if there was any malice involved in this as well. Like, WAY too much risk to give the interview and admit to your ignorance than to just have no statement currently.

OK, I've watched the video.

I don't know the legal differences in the US, but I know that my parents helped run an NPO where they would get cash donations that go into a single coffer and at the end of the year they give out the interest accumulated from that account to projects in their scope of interest.

Sounds like that isn't the intention of Jhirard's charity, but at the same time if the money has been sitting and accumulating interest in that way, they could end up giving out more money over time than they actually take in.

If the money is still there and awaiting the proper organization that fits in-line with what they want to do, I'm disappointed that wasn't conveyed but I'm also not like, pissed off about it. That money is there and awaiting a place for it to go that makes sense. I have no doubt that it's likely no members of his family knew WTF they were doing in creating this charity and what exactly they HAD to do and not do.

Everything she's in seems to bomb horrifically so I don't know if Disney shares your enthusiasm. Whenever I see people talk about her on CE she always gets glowing reviews so the disconnect is jarring.

Realistically anything that is Disney Plus is kinda a moot point. You can't say "Her Disney Plus show didn't create substantial new viewer retention" when the market is in huge Flux. Prices are changing dramatically, the number of streaming services are increasing, etc.

As for Marvel's itself not doing well here the first weekend, anything close to Christmas time has increased legs if there isn't a huge Christmas feature coming. Aquaman 2 is coming but that could lead theaters to air a cool little double feature.

There is also just super hero fatigue and all numbers for all projects are trending downward. Guardians 3 did worse than 2, Wakanda Forever did worse than BP1, Quantumania did worse than Antman 2, etc.

Captain Marvel did 426m in 2019. Dunno if Marvel's will do even 350 worldwide, but it could. None of that has to do with Kamala Khan though.

Might just have to sail the seas.

How are you defining "essential" in this context? I agree with most of your points ITT, but just curious.

If you were to miss this completely, I don't think you would be lost for any other MCU projects. Maybe with the stinger POTENTIALLY, but however that comes back up they will recap it at that point.

The movie was fun. It wasn't essential, it wasn't great, it did not make me any more or less excited for the next films. It was just a funny popcorn movie.

The big surprise was FF16 getting snubbed for GoTY for Spider-Man 2 instead.

Spider-Man 2 was better than FF16. I liked 16 but again it's like an 8 or 8.5 outta 10.

Nah, they've put too much time into it. They just needed to rework the game since it was so obviously a games as a service type model initially and that's not what anyone wants Rocksteady to be doing.

Hogwarts was an 8/10, basically every other game up there is a better reviewed game.

I don't understand why there is even a conversation about it.

In the year of Bangers that is 2023, an 8/10 ain't gonna make the list.

Ainz is operating under the assumption other player characters will show up and try to kill him. He is planning to fight someone like himself.

It's kinda neat when you watch it with that lens. He is planning to fight another him and these are the lengths he will go to to ensure the safety of himself and his people.

I don't think you should feel guilty. You did so much for Lindsay, but it is perfectly okay to not want to go through with something like that again.

What I worry about is that you have made enough comments that I worry you are looking for a healthy Lindsay. It is doubtful you will find a healthy Lindsay. You can likely find a healthy Claire or healthy Anna or healthy April. She will have different things that make her great, but also different challenges. It could be just as good as what you had (without the sickness), but I worry you will say "this is different" and not give it a chance. Do you worry about this or am I just misreading some of your comments?

I mean, if I'm being honest I want a very similar woman. I think that is probably a normal feeling to have when your partner passes away. I recognize that won't happen; I can't replace her with a stronger model like a cell phone or a car. I would love to but that isn't reality.

I worry that I will compare any potential mate to an idealized version of my previous wife and I will find them unworthy. Again that might be more of a worry I have in my head than in reality. The gal I'm crushing on now is different from my wife in a LOT of ways and that is exciting to me too.

I want what we had, but with someone healthy who can take on the world with me. Its what I want and what I deserve and yet I still feel so guilty for having those feelings. I dont regret having been with my wife, the time we spent together, taking on the role of a caregiver for so long. I have no regrets in that decision and the wonderful time we did get to spend together. Saying I want someone new in my life to fill that role but in a different way... does that mock the memory of Lindsay? I want what we had but better.

Am I setting myself up for failure? Id like to think Im capable of seeing someone for themselves, treasuring what they bring to me in terms of a relationship. How they are similar to Lindsay and how they are different are both going to be huge elements to how I move forward with my next relationship. Am I greedy? Should I be greedy? Is it OK for me to be greedy and want it all? Because I do. I want the best things that Lindsay brought to our relationship and more. I dont want to have to take care of my partner in that way, not for a long time anyways. I want us to be true partners.

But that isnt to say Lindsay and I were not partners. We were and we offered each other so much more than the dynamic of my caregiving for her. She challenged me to be a better person. She helped me grow into a more considerate person, and gave me reason to try my hardest every day. Even in the things we loved together she was always critical; always looking for things to improve. We completed one another in the things that we lacked. I was always a little lackadaisical while she worked too hard at things. I was very calm and chill, she was proactive and always attentive to her surroundings. I was always content with the state of things, while she was always wanting things to be better. She was altruistic and wanted to help others, while all I wanted to do was help her and by extension, us, so to speak.

I spent years worrying only about her. Her health, her financial well-being, her happiness. That was my aim, my goal, my passion in life. It made me happy to make her happy, to provide that for her. She deserved that and so much more. I want to provide happiness for a new woman in my life. A happiness that is not contingent on failing health and a certain level of acceptability. I want us to take on the world together. I want us to travel, to be free to explore the city we live in, the province we live in, the world around us, if we want. I want us to work towards a common goal, buy a home together. I want to help her achieve all her dreams and she can help me achieve mine.

All of this excites me but it also fills me with guilt. I dont hold it against Lindsay that she could not provide some of these things for me. It was through no fault of anyone that our life together meant sacrifices were made by both of us. Thats what part of life together is... sacrificing for one another. Lindsay told me repeatedly as her life was coming to an end that she wanted all these things for me too. She apologized for her lot in life and what it meant for me. She WANTS me to achieve wonderful things with someone who is worthy of me. She stressed that point. Someone who is worthy of me.

What is worthy? What does that mean and why do I cling to that idea so much? I want to honor the hopes and wishes my wife had for me almost more-so for her than I do for myself. That cant be exactly healthy, can it? Except honoring that wish, to find someone worthy of what I provide in a relationship will ultimately lead me to great happiness. I think that is what Lindsay meant. Not someone who is going to bring me wealth and prosperity, though that is always a nice goal to work towards. Someone who makes me happy. Lindsay made me happy despite all the things she could not provide to me.

So maybe I need to stop overthinking it all and just listen to my heart. It led me to Lindsay and eleven and a half wonderful years. It will lead me to more Im sure of it and I want it as soon as possible. Im scared that I will never find it again, that it will never match up to what I had. I hear Lindsays laughter at this fear. What did you have Jeff? You had a wife who was dying a little more every day. She cost you a little more every day. More money, more time, for less and less every day. Its not gonna be hard to find someone else who can match up to what I had to offer...

Cold hard logic was never my forte when it came to love honey, and I think you loved that about me. I hope my next love loves that about me too.

Its a fun and flawed movie. I like ms marvel but damn, marvel should not do this. Her show is the lowest viewed and her movie is about to be the lowest box office. I disagree on a couple points. I definitely think she should be involved in Avengers, even if she is coordinating ground efforts as other heroes fight Kang. I also think her being one of the big parts of a "Young Avengers" is smart. Again, she has a lot of similarities with Spider-Man and that enthusiasm can be the glue that holds a Young Avengers project together, IMO.

Overall, I think the biggest thing with Marvels is that it was fun. Was it deep? No. Was it essential? No. Was it a top tier MCU project? No.

However, it is what so many MCU projects failed to be this phase, that being fun. They kinda lowkey remembered that at the end of the day, superheroes are a license to have silly stories, silly characters, and nonsense in the world. Ant-Man used to be like that before Quantumania. Thor Ragnarok was silly and fun and I think it's the best Thor film.

I think it is smart for Marvel to hitch their wagon to Kamala Khan. She is a fun character who loves the idea of superheroes and loves BEING a superhero. You can have her learn the pitfalls of it along the way while also still just being a fan of the whole idea of super powers and using those powers for good. She reminds me in a lot of ways of Spider-Man which is obviously a good thing.

I liked that Brie Larson got a bit more opportunities to flex the character of Captain Marvel and again, be more fun. Her characterization in the MCU so far has been so serious and maudlin. I do like that the movie explains why she maybe became this serious character and why she maybe tries a little too hard to be... I dunno, like Captain America? Let her have character, express some fun and BE heroic, not JUST strong.

The villain was not very good. They tried to justify her actions but she is not well written nor is she even really a "threat". Realistically she is a threat only because of the fact that none of the heroes can use their powers as effectively as they would like. It's more of a convenient way to include the Skrulls and the Kree and their whole war rather than being a good foil for our heroes.

It often felt like they had maybe 70% of the film all nailed down but had no idea how to fill the other 30% to transition between the ideas, thus why it felt sometimes like the film was just a throughway from one set piece to another, because I think with rewrites and whatnot, that's exactly what happened.

Writer - "Ohhh wouldn't it be cool to have Captain Marvel explain her failure and the reason the planet was dying? Like, it would totally justify why her character became kinda surly and grim, cause even with all her power she still failed"

Writer 2 - "I love it. When do we have that happen though? Doesn't seem to make sense given all the action happening and whatnot"

Writer - "I dunno... why if they escape the battle at some point and randomly crash land on some empty planet?"

Writer 2 - "Why would that be their escape? Like, their computer likely could just send them back to the closest portal to Earth right?"

Writer - "Meh, whatever, nobody will give a shit"

Love seeing how for some people this is one of their favorite games.

Utilizing time and space travel to learn piece by piece and try to basically defy fate? That's some Steins;Gate stuff!!!
