It's not race baiting to say that one's government often shows preferential treatment to one's own. Race baiting would be if I said "Japanese people don't like Chinese people."

Not taking anything away from their fight against bigotry. There just happens to be a nasty habit of erasing the hardships of anyone else who has suffered persecution or racial indignity.

DBZ was made before those standards came into place. Compare DBZ with Super, and you see how sanitized Super is in comparison.

Damn. Even some of the old Ultraman shows had limb removal.

But any time I mention it, I get hit with, "Shut up, you're White." The only way a White person is allowed to have ancestry from another background is if they're a bigot and someone else is using that person's ancestry against them. "The leader of the KKK had a Black grandmother. He's Black!"

Yeah, sorry. I always try to solidify it into a concrete image in my mind. At its core, fascism is about order and control. It's simply taken to an extreme where it prevents individual freedom or, in worst case scenarios, the right to live.

Any extreme can be dangerous. Even extreme charity can be harmful if it comes at a total loss to one's self or a disruption of their personal life. It doesn't mean that having a lean automatically makes person the extreme.

You're not an extremist if you think everyone left of you is a communist or everyone right of you is a fascist, but you're probably closer to extremism than you think the other party is.

I'll grant you that scene is creepy as hell. I shut the movie off when I was a child. As an adult, I laughed because of how quickly she was defeated after such buildup.

But you mentioned "best" in the title and that does not describe Superman III. Good Clark Kent versus Bad Superman is a scene worth watching. The rest of the movie is b-o-o-o-o-ring.

Most people in America who are 16 and under are multicultural. In four years from now, many of them will be of voting age. Also in four years from now, many of the bigots holding onto life in their 80s and 90s will have passed away.

2024 will not be white people versus people of color. It will be bigoted white people versus people of color and non-bigoted white people. The bigots will lose solidly.

Also, we're not forgetting about the failed insurgence from January 6th. If Trump runs again, he'll lose in a landslide defeat. It would've been nice to have kicked him when he was down, finished the job so to speak, but Trump is through as far as politics are concerned. He can go pick up an alt right radio podcast. He's not gonna be President of the US ever again.

Edit: I'm not saying that conservatives are bigots. But, at this point, Donald Trump is easily comparable to a white supremacist leader. If anyone still supports him, they're as much as voting for the Klan to be in office and that's not a false equivalent.

Batman Begins was competing with Batman '89 to present a more serious take on the character. In the same way, Batman '89 was competing with Batman '66 to present a more serious take on the character.

People tend to forget that. A lot of young people chide Batman '89 for being slightly tongue-in-cheek and for not going for a sense of total realism. But, at the time, the most popular image of Batman was the campy 1966 series. This was the film that showed the general public that Batman could be serious.

I always point to the James Bond movie Licence to Kill as a reason why Batman '89 could not have been fully serious. They tried doing a straight 007 film that same year, without comedy, surrealism, or any tongue-in-cheek behavior and the film absolutely flopped. (Destroyed at the box office by Batman '89, no less.) Audiences of the 80s still saw superheroes as being primarily for children. The 1976 Superman and 1989 Batman movies were about showing that maybe, just maybe, superhero movies could be approachable for adults.

If they stay true to their size, Kong is a big gorilla and Godzilla is a dinosaur. People forget that Godzilla isn't a natural creature. He's a mutant.

And if the movie can change Godzilla's origin to make it so that he was always a giant, they can do the same for Kong's origin.

You didn't have to choose between Warner Bros. brand cable and Disney brand satellite. You had your base packages which included channels owned by all number of companies. And if you wanted a special channel or two, you had to pay premium for them.

Every company wants every dollar. It's the very thing that killed cable in the first place

You had to put down your money for which console you wanted. No matter what you got, you were getting something and you were missing out on something else. You were gonna have to choose between Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy 7. But no matter what choice you made, you could still laugh at the kid who had a Sega Saturn and its absence of a proper 3D Sonic game.

As an adult...

We've reached a point where they're doing that with movies and TV shows. You can get Disney Plus, HBO Max, Peacock, Paramount, etc. You'll have to get two separate streaming services if you want the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series and the three live action movies. I don't know if anybody has the 1987 cartoon.

I never thought we'd reach a point where we'd see Disney versus Warner Bros. versus everybody else for exclusive streaming services. If you don't want all of your content coming from one company, reach into your pockets and order another one.

I live in Indiana. This town is Trumpville, USA.

We've had people advertising lawn care, plumbing, and other services have strategically placed Trump signs in their yard as a selling point. Farmers in the area have signs calling for Hillary to be locked up or making accusations about Democrats' alleged goals. One such farmer even started flying the American flag upside down after Biden was elected president.
