I have confirmed Native American ancestry.

But any time I mention it, I get hit with, "Shut up, you're White." The only way a White person is allowed to have ancestry from another background is if they're a bigot and someone else is using that person's ancestry against them. "The leader of the KKK had a Black grandmother. He's Black!"

If you go back far enough in our family trees, there likely were no white people. From my understanding, white skin was a product of evolution due to humans migrating farther north, and with the need for additional clothes to stay warm, the skin needed to lose pigmentation to absorb sufficient vitamin D.

So before humans started migrating, lighter skin tones were either a rarity or nonexistent.

my wife had a black grandfather on one side so our child will be some small percent African descent

doesn't this depend on how far back you go? eventually everyone on earth is descended from the same group of people if go back far enough

what are the parameters here? if we're talking about a few hundred years then my answer is yes. more than that idk cause there's no records

I raised my hand because my parents were from some rural area in Asia and have never even seen a black person irl. She was shook.

Family rumor claims I might have a female native American ancestor from like 200 years ago. But I have no way of confirming it and it would only mean I'm like 1% native. Whoopty fucking doo

i have majority sicilian ancestry and i wouldnt consider myself anything but white. i feel like the privileges of being white apply to me, even if i do get pretty dark in the summertime, so *shrug*

My familys been in the south for hundreds of years so there are likely some racial offshoots. But Ive only encountered 100% European family members, on mom and dad sides, gonna be honest.

I'm adopted. I have a small percentage of south american (peruvian andes) ancestry and an even smaller percentage of west african (togo/benin region) ancestry, so no, not 100% white.

Never had an ancestry test, but my mom's side of the family has teeth shape that indicates that I have some Asian blood. From where the family is from originally I'm most likely the descendant of a Mongol horde rapist which is apparently not that uncommon.

All I know is that on my dad's side of the family, my ancestors were Welsh and before that, Norse-Gaelic; and on my mum's side, they were Irish.

Every single human being alive today, and every single human being who has ever lived, had ancestors who walked out of the Great Rift Valley in East Africa roughly 125,000 years ago. Which means I'm very tenuously related to everyone reading this topic.
