Some stuff like headlight and tail light restrictions are no longer remotely relevant with improved bulbs and continue to hold back auto design. I played with lawn darts all the time as a kid, they were definitely lethal projectiles. I could huck one of those suckers most of an acre and they'd stick in trees and fuck up sidewalks.
