I always said he would get it from an animal one day. Everyone did. He just, acted like a fool with them too often. He wasn't about "Hey look at this creature, here's some facts about it." He was "Look there! That's a dangerous creature. Now watch as I go fuck with it and piss it off." It was inevitable. Like watching someone play russian roulette.

I just didn't think it would be a stingray barb to the heart.

Votes. Same thing with the catholic church. At least locally here in SoCal. Everyone wants to pull out their violins and cry their bleeding hearts dry over it. But it's all about votes and money. Period. If you can wave a wand and make all the illegals legal voting residents then you in theory have life long generational democrat voters. Same with the church. If you're the ones making a show saying prayers for them and helping them with paperwork, feeding them and giving sermon after sermon week after week about god's children blah blah bs bs. They'll give money.

Anyone who says it's genuinely about the greater good and feelings is full of shit. It's votes(power) and money..

A $100 sport jacket marked down from $400. Hardly a luxury item but I plan on making it last for at least 20 years. I don't really splurge on things and I don't really give a crap about current styles. Needed it for a retirement party.
Kind of like my suit. I have 1. Bought it at age 33 for a funeral I knew was coming. Replaced the one I had been using since I was 17. This one is for all the funerals in the foreseeable future and hopefully the one I get buried in. Waste of money for a thing I wear 1-2 times a year if even that much.

The feeling of a lose of desire of play games hit me pretty hard around 2008-2012. Now granted a lot of life stuff happened then and put things in perspective as far as what I do with my free time. But I really don't think it was all that. Last gen saw so many series and outright genres completely die in favor of online games and shooters it was disgusting. Others like FF became bastardized shadows of their former selves. It was like go fps or nothing. Now there's more variety in games again. Lots of remasters. It's not PS1/PS2 era good but I'll take it. I have a desire to play things now because there's more things available.

Imho I would call the PS360/Wii/WiiU generation something like a "lost generation". Save for a handful of good titles it was by and large forgettable and what was there moved gaming into the online realm where it just languished and a decade later feels like it still is as a stillborn lump.

If you have the flu you'll know it. It's everything a cold is but crank the misery up x10. With a cold you can still get up if need be. You can power through it as unpleasant as it is. The flu will have you down. Chills, fever, body ache like you can't believe. And you will have absolutely zero energy and just be stuck in bed. I've only had the flu a few times in my life. 35 here and the last time must have been well over a decade ago.
With the flu you still feel it a couple of weeks later. You don't feel 100%. Lingering cough and less energy. Hit it with as much flu medicine as you can safely take. Vicks on your chest and in a vaporizer. And just rest. The flu just has to run it's course.
A cold do your cold medicine of choice. OJ. Lots of vitamin C. And I swear by a hot toddy. Hot black tea with a shot or two of whiskey, lemon juice, some honey and a cinnamon stick if you have one available. Absolutely kills a sore throat. So does spicy food.

The other two times women have been on currency it's been the same. Susan B. Anthony had no business on one and neither did that Sacajawea. But at least both of those were on more obscure denominations.
If the criteria is simply "it has to be a woman" then I can think of ones that actually deserve to be on currency.
Why not Frances Perkins first woman to hold a Cabinet position.
Sandra Day O'Connor first woman on the Supreme Court. Granted she's still alive.
Jeannette Rankin women's rights advocate and first woman to hold national office.

Cared for my grandfather, who raised me and was my dad as far as I was concerned as he died. Was criticized by family that I wasn't doing enough but none of them helped. Then he died. I was alone. Jobless. Did get left the home but no income to take care of it. No emotional support thanks to my entire family being 100% emotionally closed off. "I havn't got time for this." was my mother's response to my plea of just needing to vent about it all. "You made him suffer." was from my aunt.
So let's see. Sitting in the dark because I had no idea how I could afford bills or anything else. Laying in bed in the middle of the afternoon. Crying. All for weeks on end and hoping for some divine justice on my own family because of their attitudes (which they've gotten over the years little by little and it's been beautiful). Genuinely considering just ending things. That would be my lowest.
And then I wonder sometimes why I'm so damn hateful and vengeful. My childhood and all that would be a part of it.

But now I'm just of the mind to say "fuck it all". I'll claw myself through life at the bottom just to live long enough to see all of them hit the bottom too. I don't want to say anything to them. I'll be there for them. But I just want to see it. I want my mind to rest easy seeing it.

I got mine a week ago. It's a more solid feeling system than I thought it would be considering the WiiU tablet felt like a fat plastic Playskool toy for toddlers. The buttons are a bit too small for me though, especially when in handheld mode. The right thumb stick being directly below the buttons and not offset a bit is really awkward for some reason. And it could maybe just be that I'm older but I honestly do get hand cramps in my right hand once I hit the 40 minute mark playing the thing as a handheld.
But putting it in the dock and using the square controller thing is just fine. It's not as odd or uncomfortable to hold as it looks.

One thing that I have noticed and is a negative is not only that the system gets very hot while in it's dock playing Zelda. It becomes hot enough that when I did reattached the joycons and removed it to play it as a handheld the little metal connector on the bottom is hot enough to burn. I had my shirt off and I reclined in bed so I rested it on my chest and immediately there was a pinpoint scalding like when you put your hand on a hot pan handle and you recoil without thinking. It was an actual hot bite off of the metal charging port on it's bottom. I felt it more and it is definitely hot enough to burn if left touching something long enough. Very surprising.

Hurricanes always seem like buildings there should be designed to handle them. They come around every year. Yet every time you see all the roofs torn off and walls caved in. We build our skyscrapers to withstand the whole earth jolting a few feet back and forth. They can't make a roof that withstands some strong wind? High school football in Texas is fucking insane from everything I've ever heard and read. It's like a religion. But $72 million for that? There is nothing that special about that stadium. Even if it is being shared between 8 schools. For $72 million I would expect seating twice that capacity. I bet someone was playing fast and loose with the bond money. No bidding for the project. One of the contractors is probably a cousin. Those sort of shenanigans.
I'm more shocked about there being 8 high schools in that one school district. Each with 3000 students. My god that's absolutely insane. My high school was and still is barely over 1100 students. Of course this is CA and a small town. I just can't wrap my mind around that. Teacher to student ratio has to be like 60:1.

Speaking of those shorts. What ever did happen to viewing those things as the g word? Since the 90s (my era) shorts for men were a below the knee affair because men showing knee was considered the g word. And imho rightfully so. Not those over the top baggy ones that were practically pants and that you could fit both legs into on leg hole of because they were so baggy. To this day I wear ones that are at least mid knee. If the answer does not come in 24h tops, the moderation gets automatically overturned.

This all sounds great. Moderations need to be shown to have a concrete connection to the TOU. And the TOU itself needs to be spelled out better with clear definitions and examples. None of this vague interpretation and bending over backwards to justify what certain jello spined, thought police mods consider "offensive" or not about people's posts. I'm going to piss off a lot of people with this.
But it's stuff like this (eclipse in general) and so many other things. The human body, natural wonders, the galaxy around us, life, etc. All these things that take a unfathomable amount of microscopic intricacies and forces all working together precisely to make everything exist in the way they do. And people out there expect me to believe it's all what it is by random chance that resulted from what's essentially an unexplainable space fart? No. There's something beyond us on a higher level at work.
But that's me. Feel free to hate.

Why in the high holy hell is everyone making such a big about this thing? We had one happen in 2012. If you live in the totality area then I get it but everyone everywhere in CA is making a big stink like "Omfg we've never seen this before!" One happened in 2012. And two more will happen in 2023 and 2024 that are even better to see in CA.

Most of the "homeless" that hang out at offramps begging for money around here always have a smart phone, a dog, are clean and have nicer shoes on than I do. You get to recognize them when you see them often enough over the years.
