I like how when the game starts your character seems hopeless while Kim is this absolutely shining beacon of professionalism in comparison. But as you slowly get your legs your bizarro-competence begins to take center stage and mentions about your past switch from people laughing about you to hardened criminals whispering in fear of the human can opener

I find it a little jarring that there's all these uncensored racial slurs that are really obvious inserts for real ones, but the game uses the IRL gay slur, but censors the voice line and text. I can handle it guys

If you take the money, time in real life freezes as your consciousness gets sent to a void dimension to exist for 100,000 years. It's nothing but disembodied pitch blackness. While there, you won't get hungry, thirsty, or sleepy and cannot die.

At the end of the 100,000 years, your consciousness returns to your body, time resumes, and you forget the whole ordeal, with no trace of memory or trauma from the wait. A thousand bucks is deposited to your bank account.

How people like Boc and Hewg come to call you Lord, Rogier tells you that people want to trust you, Enia switches from saying "Let the words of the two fingers guide you" to "do what you believe is right." And there's Melina's whole character, and Diallos & Jar-Bairn.

Both Dark Souls III and Sekiro gave the impression of crumbling worlds (literally or politically) but Elden Ring has the hope for renewal and a better way always shining through the cracks. The long-term characters like Hewg, Roderika and Melina are written so well in this regard. Even tempters like Shabriri prey on your good intentions and sense of right.

My wall in Sekiro was the Shinobi Hunter in ashina estate. When I beat that guy I was prepared for the whole rest of the game

I thought Bloodborne was the easiest FromSoft game, but I also played it last.

Sekiro is a masterpiece, one of the greatest games ever made. FromSoft's masterpiece.

It's alright so far. Detective MC seems to have a habit of telling the audience what the other is trying to convey about the kid. World building so far is basically that ghosts/yokai/folklore monsters are real, some of them have kids with humans, the detective's job is to clean up non-sentient ones and mediate the humanoid ones.

Sekiro >= Elden Ring >= Bloodborne > DS3 > DeS > DS1 > DS2

I think people are blowing Elden Ring's NPC chains out of proportion, you may skip intermediate steps of a chain like with Alexander and Blaidd, but the great majority of all characters in the game won't break until you've pretty much burnt the world down. Only Volcano Manor is fickle, and that whole area is optional.

Playthrough 1 was 170 hours. 2 and 3 are going a lot quicker cuz you know exactly where to get the talismans you want and can skip a ton of the optional flavor dungeons.

On my third playthrough, going for Age of Duskborn ending. First playthrough was Faith, second Arcane. Both of those ended up leveling Dexterity a ton as a second damage stat.

Third playthrough is Strength
Greatsword has obliterated Limgrave/Liurnia/Caelid. Will probably dual wield Zweihander as I get my END up for better jumping attack spam. I'm sure I'll also develop some STR colossal weapons for strike damage in the late game.

About to try it

Wesley Crusher is straight up a good character after season 1. One of the most over-hated characters of all time.
