Wait a minute.

So, did Gandalf wring out the whole tale regarding how Bilbo found the Ring in Gollum's cave? I seem to remember that Gandalf maybe did wring out more than what Bilbo said(to others like Thorin's company, he kept telling it was a prize he won fair-and-square from the riddle game or something), but to that extent? Of details like Gollum obsessing over the thing while calling it 'precious'?

And surely, Gandalf wasn't 'familiar' with Gollum at that time, he only knew of Gollum from whatever Bilbo told him. It was only until a few years later(before Gandalf goes to the Shire to confirm it indeed is Sauron's Ring) when Aragorn captured Gollum in the vicinity of the Dead Marshes did Gandalf see Gollum in the flesh for the first time.

No, he thought it was lost. Elrond knew Isildur took it, and it vanished when he was ambushed on the shores of the Anduin. As far as anyone knew, it was somewhere on the riverbed, but there was next to no chance of every finding it.

It goes even further. Saruman, who is the so-called 'expert' on ring-lore, dissuaded everyone else from searching the river(the idea must have been proposed at least once by one of the Wise) by saying that it's obvious it tumbled down along with the flow of Anduin into the Great Sea. He said, "Let it lie there until the end, when the world is changed." or something to that effect. It's also implied that after turning the other members of the Wise away like that, he took to searching the river on his own, hoping to find it, not knowing that Gollum already went off with it years earlier.

My favorite part in the movie is when Gandalf leaves the shire and goes to Minis Tirith to study the possibility of it being the one ring. Then he rides back to the shire in what looks like maybe a couple weeks/months had passed, but in the book its been 17 years. I think it would be hilarious if in the movie it just faded to black and said 17 years later. The average audience would be like this Wizard was off reading books for almost 2 decades!!

You know, I kind of think it sounds better for it to have been a matter of months, maybe a year. Instead of 17 years.

Doesn't quite explain Bilbo's scene in Rivendell in that case, though. Frodo and Bilbo are a bit way too overjoyed at the reunion for it to have been an year or less, and even with the Ring no longer in his possession, in the movie Bilbo has aged far, far too much in that time.

Even so, 17 years as in the book is a bit extreme, especially considering Sam, Merry and Pippin are all already visible in Bilbo's party in the movie yet they hadn't aged much if at all, either. A movie-only retcon of five-ish years might have been acceptable.

No, just because I haven't been able to find the time yet. Mildly interested in it since I love the series, but not interested enough to make time out of nowhere just to play it.

Well, that happens to a movie when it starts out as a high risk-high return sort of deal in the first place, then its sequel specifically goes out of its way to completely **** on it and everything it tried to set up in every possible way.

TFA used to be a questionable movie that would be judged on how the following movies would flesh it out. Now it's simply mediocre and forgettable. Probably we should be relieved though, since 'mediocre and forgettable' is dimensions better than what came after it.

Depends on which I'm having more trouble in at that point, killing stuff, or staying alive.

Generally, though, I think it's more often I lean toward getting armor, because usually the abilities/skills/spells/whatever you learn are more geared toward killing stuff more efficiently, so you can improve that with EXP whereas regarding defenses you're usually limited to whatever best armor your money can buy, with EXP only helping you in limited fashion via stat upgrades on levelups(which also improve your attacks so it's a moot point comparing them here).

I don't get why people always say Manshep is 'boring' as if it's some kind of inside joke. It's literally the same dialogue and the same actions as Femshep.

If it's about the delivery, still no. Meer does his job perfectly fine. Keeps his voice neutral and professional, which is what you'd expect considering his background as a decorated soldier. If anything, Hale's Femshep is a tad too emotional at times. You can complain it's flat, but it's not too bland or going so far as to ruin what he's saying. He's still capable of a decent sarcastic voice too IMO.

The only case this argument would make sense is when you're pursuing the romance sidequests, because of course it makes sense to be emotional here. Manshep's lines during the romances are somewhat stony and therefore funny, so I'll concede that, but the romance dialogues aren't everything.

He does get better at displaying emotions as the series progresses, though, so there's something in that. You could also chalk that up to character development in a way: In the beginning of the series he's all professional because he's working with people he's never seen before in his life(minus Kaidan, and even then it's implied they haven't been serving alongside each other for long). Come the third game, he's developed a through-death-and-out-together kind of companionship with his squadmates and after the kind of hell he's been going through over the series, his emotional barriers are cracking.

Old WWF footage from like 20 years ago. Those were good times. Those old Stone Cold vignettes are still great.

Stopped watching around the time WWE introduced their own ECW brand(wut), not because I got sick of it, but because the local TV channels drifted away from wrestling to show more MMA, which I have zero interest in, and I wasn't a big enough fan to track down broadcasts through other routes. Only recently did they come back and start airing Raw and Smackdown again, so I happen to stumble upon the shows for the first time in years and my God, what the heck happened to the product I used to like?

Nah, I'll stay with those old videos of the gritty old Attitude era.

Understandable choice.

Always liked Kaidan over her anyway. I've only saved her once-ish to see what differences she brought to ME3, and even then, after viewing her romance in 1 I dumped her aside for a vastly superior choice in 2(don't remember which, but honestly all 3 are way better than her so ehh).

Even the gameplay doesn't justify saving her. She brings absolutely nothing special to the field, since she is apparently the 'combat specialist' excelling in shooting stuff up with zero utility elsewhere, yet she can't even manage to be the 2nd-best squadmate in that one job she has, for both 1 and 3.
