I had the Broncos as a ~.500 team when the season started but I still expected them to look better than this on offense.

A cursory scan says ~80% of people in pick 'em are on the Broncos which is actually a bit lower than I expected.

And of course 0 people are on the Giants. Even if I'm awake for that game I doubt I'm watching it.

On a side note I'm confused by the Saints being a 5.5 point favorite when I took Seattle without any second thought

About 2 points to both, but he's probably back for week 6 so I guess we'll see what that line is reflective of. Vikings will be 4-1 but close wins over the Saints, Lions, and (soon) the Bears aren't exactly impressive.

I'm probably picking the Dolphins to win for like 7 straight weeks until they go to SF, though... For a stretch of four games I might pick against them in every game.

Steelers, Lions, Browns, Texans, Bears over a 5 week span. The most dangerous one there is the.. Lions?

Looking it up in detail, this game at the Jets is either their second or third hardest game of the next seven weeks. It's either them or the Lions.

yeah you've made it clear that you think Miami beating two of the best teams in the league in improbable manner means they're not actually good

(they could lose to the Jets because Teddy has a noodle arm that can't take advantage of Waddle and Hill, and also because the Jets might secretly not be terrible)
They're just a 3 point road favorite this week and just a 1 point home favorite against the Vikings next week.

I think both of those spreads are fair.

Oh also the clown who jumped onto the Rams field and got taken down by Wagner is attempting to press charges when he's the only one who actually committed a crime.

The difference in this game isn't that the Rams can't finish a drive, it's that they keep letting 3 yard passes turn into 30 yard passes. It's almost the entire offense of the 49ers.

The Rams have had long drives, but haven't come close to finishing one. The field goal is playing the situation.

If you respect the Rams offense you go for it there.

At halftime I kinda thought the 14 SF had might be enough.

Oh I'm still picking them at the Cardinals, but it's a cross-country road game against the closest thing to a playoff contender they'll have played so far. If that spread hits 7, I'm not taking them to cover.

Dallas should be mostly reloaded and ready to go for week 6, a game in which I still lean them to win in a fairly low scoring game, say 20-17. The Dallas defense is better than anything the Eagles have seen. Though Dallas is getting their own test at the Rams as a 5 point dog, which I think is too much.

Also quote of the day: "If the Lions had a bad defense, they'd be 3-1."

The Bucs have a bunch of wins coming up, yeah they'll be fine.

Lotta games on the slate to look at next week. Seattle, commonly considered to be tanking, has a solid shot of getting to 3-2. Bengals and Ravens will be fighting to be over .500 in a North that doesn't look nearly as strong at advertised. Eagles get a litmus test at the Cardinals. Dak returns at the Rams. Dolphins at Jets has a chance of being a more interesting game than people think.

Chargers/Browns Bears/Vikings and Lions/Patriots all feel like side games that will potentially be decided by a field goal.

Also for some reason the FPI still loves Washington. It heavily favored them at Dallas today, and it even more heavily favors them against the Titans next week. Why does this metric love Washington so much?
