Sultan was trying to figure out what I even did to get banned and I think it's because I told some people in that game that the horribly ineffective way they were playing mafia in general was wrong.

I do know it pissed off that twit Leafia to be told actually having justification for your votes matters, for example.

Seriously though, if we ever do have another game here, someone at least invite Millium from that site to join. Some others would be ok, but they above the rest earned my respect.

They're a legit player who is being wasted by that community, and I want them to see a real mafia game.

The same low poster got mislynched in back to back games on a day 1 special in the last few minutes for effectively no reason at all.

He was pissed this time, too.

Almost none of the people who voted him were among the people who were active and genuinely contributing. They just got completely overrun.

Some of the people in the games seem to play quite lax, this is true. You also didn't get a chance to play with several of the better players who kind of do other things to begin the year.

It's always a mixed bag and player lists do matter. I think though, objectively, you could have handled yourself a lot better even if there were some players who were lacking.

Not like all of our games always have had banger player lists over the years.

Both games were 1/3 inactive players over 1/3 of the actually participating people voting randomly and getting mad if you asked them to explain their votes. The days are basically all the same. The same 4-5 people actually argue, a few other people occasionally side comment. and then they just randomly lynch an inactive for no real reason and hope they're scum. The inactive flips town, they rehash mostly the same arguments the next day.. And then they just lynch another inactive and hope they're scum.

The two games had mostly different player lists but were essentially identical.

I'd say maybe 1/3 of the players I've dealt with have any actual concept of how to play mafia. The common strategy tends to be "pile on people for no reason and hope".

I was far more tame in my second game (as noted by multiple people, my behavior was significantly improved overall) and still got banned for a month for basically doing nothing.

Worthless site with a mostly worthless sack of players. No thanks.

If players like Millium, Zug, or Frost want to come over here that'd be fine. Show them a group of people who actually knows how to play mafia.

Well fair, but I think a lot of comments towards that one newer person were pretty mean spirited tbh.

It's everyone's choice to play there or not so fair, and if you think the environment isn't for you I understand but i really like playing there precisely because people don't feel the need to insult a lot.

Psy deserved way worse than I gave him.

He tried pulling that con artist act here and he would've been policy lynched very very quickly.

To put it in cliffnotes, Psy was a "new" player.. But what he really was was a troll who knew exactly what he was doing and was actively disrupting the game just for funsies. I caught him on this day 1 and never interacted with him again. Late on day 3 after acting like the most clueless twit possible and making people re-explain basic game mechanics over and over again, he slipped information about something game related he should not have known, and it broke the paper-thin illusion he had been putting up. He then refused in any way to acknowledge what he had done, and disappeared. Dude was dead within an hour.

I absolutely despise players like this in mafia. He had no intention of actually playing the game from the start. If I were vig I would've put him down on day 1.

But that other site is so soft I'd probably get warned again just for saying that sooooo we'll see if I get out of my second game without getting banned.

Honestly that game was kind of broken and probably required town to have no more than 1 mislynch ever to even have a chance of winning.

The scum poison and the 3P combined were pretty absurd.

I called someone that I've known for years dumb and got a warning for it.

Mafia is a mind game. If you can't handle a little bit of that, you have no business playing in the first place.

The community is made up a lot of younger players, and pretty much all of the comments I imagine you got warned about aren't really needed. Especially on a forum where you don't know anyone other than a few people.

I have received no toxicity warnings in 2 years there, for example.

As far as I'm concerned simple comments like "dumb" are a natural part of the game and are a tool for both town and mafia alike to use to get where they need to get to.

What's even sadder is all the Giants would have to do is beat the Pats and Packers at home to get to 5-8 and that immediately gets them into the playoff picture, because at that point your 7 seed is at 6-7.

Hell if Chicago doesn't blow games to the Saints and Lions they're at 5-6 and 5-6 is pretty good right now!

Seattle is actually in a lot of trouble given the winnable games they just blew.
